John 8: 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am

John 10: 30 I and [my] Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Is 9: 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Now Jesus makes clear his credentials as to his divinity. But can such be said of others?

LITTLE GODS AND THEIR LITTLE THEOLOGY

“EVERY MAN WHO HAS BEEN BORN AGAIN IS AN INCARNATION AND CHRISTIANITY IS A MIRACLE. THE BELIEVER IS AS MUCH AN INCARNATION AS WAS JESUS OF NAZARETH” (Kenneth Hagin, “The Incarnation,” The Word of Faith 13, December, 1980).

So Kenneth Hagin believes that he is as MUCH AN INCARNATION OF GOD AS JESUS WAS? The question is does he fulfil the requirements of one who was incarnated? Jesus made his credentials clear he was Yawah God. Now in what sense can Hagin claim to be the same Yawah God?

1 John 4: 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him

The word “ONLY,” In Greek monogenēs means unique and one of a kind. Jesus made it clear that he was in every way UNIQUE. Now some would try and quibble what Hagin may or may not have said concerning the term incarnation. But Hagin makes it clear by specifically stating that man can be exactly the same “incarnation as Jesus was”

So how does one who is unique cease to be UNIQUE ? He does not unless you are a word of Faith teacher, who believes everyone who is saved becomes an only begotten son. The sad part is they mix up the terms Born again with only begotten. Both are very different words and meaning. The unsaved can be adopted and born again; the term begotten is only applied to a son and heir to his father’s house. When Jesus was born in a manger he was begotten. Otherwise brought forth as the son of his father. That is made clear throughout the gospels.

Jesus said I am the Way the Truth and the Life and NO MAN can come to the father except by me.

Now if Hagin was truly an incarnation he might also possible have claimed to himself and say he was also the Way the Truth and the Life. But it is at this point Hagin becomes disqualified. No man can come to the Father except by Hagin? I don’t think so!!! Only By Jesus and Jesus alone.

Jesus uniqueness is Highlighted Exonerated and Affirmed in a way that even Kenneth Hagin could not possible fill

It must be remembered that this theology is more than a statement that we are gods in Gods class. It comes fully packaged with all the attributes of a god. Claiming equality with God as fellow gods. Boasting that what they confess they will possess. Claiming that Adam was equal to God. That they can do what God can do. Claiming that God was locked outside of this earth and had to get help from man to let him back in. When as Kenneth Copeland claimed that when Jesus said he was the I AM he could claim that title also. On the one hand they claim that Jesus was as the incarnation of God mere human, Yet they will elevate themselves as the incarnation divine and more than human. God is made to seem powerless whilst they are all powerful.

Hagins book “Write your own ticket with God,” sees Hagin triumph over a demon whilst Jesus stood helpless. That is all part of the theology of little gods. Yet who in their right mind would believe that any demon could triumph over the creator of the universe. The fact that Hagin used Jesus name to triumph rather than his own proved a major contradiction to his tale. If Jesus presence could not silence the demon, why should anyone believe that his name would? Hagin gave himself away. The story was fictitious!!!!!

TEMPTATION TO BECOME GODS BROUGHT DISASTER.

When that old snake in the grass decided to temp Eve with the idea that if they only bite into the fruit that came from the tree of good and evil they would become Gods with “special revelation knowledge.” knowledge that would make them as wise as God himself. Now if Adam and Eve really were gods then all Eve had to do was question and ask how can they become what they were already?

But as Eve did not make such a forthcoming statement but bite into the lie we have to presume that being gods was something they were tempted into. The result was catastrophic. Now both history and scripture has set out before us just what happens to those who begin to see themselves as little gods.

TO BOAST THAT ONE IS A GOD BRINGS JUDGEMENT

Hurricane Sandy bares down and the gods are silent

Jer 10: 11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, [even] they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens

There lies an open judgement  and a curse upon “ALL” other gods. As there can be only one who created the heavens and the earth, this means the rest with Perish. If you believe yourself a GOD then you come under this judgement. In fact it was this verse that proved to me that the whole little gods doctrine was false.

The Emperors of Rome went mad.

Pharaoh was greatly humbled.

king Nebuchadnezzar landed up eating grass .

Herod landed up being eaten by worms.

Acts 12: 21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, [saying, It is] the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Jer 50: 31- 32 Behold, I [am] against thee, [O thou] most proud , saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time [that] I will visit thee. And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

WHERE ARE THE GODS THAT BOAST OF THEIR DIVINITY?

Jer 2: 28 But where [are] thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for [according to] the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah

Jer 11: 12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble

Where were these little gods when hurricane Sandy brought devastation to the city of New York? They stood helpless. All the confessions, boasting and decrees went unheeded? Where where they as buildings collapsed and floods poured across the flood defences and flooded underground terminals? Where were they? What will they use for an excuse? Is it any wonder that angels look on in amazement at such pride and boasting. yet will they be humbled and repentant ?

Strange things happen to those who perpetuate this myth!

Deut 8: 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live

We don’t live by every word that comes out of our mouth, but by every word he speaks.

QUALIFICATION OF ONE WHO IS A GOD?

John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

Where was Hagin when this happened?

John 1: 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made

Can this be said of Kenneth Hagin?

John 1: 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men

John 1: 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

Now in just these simple statements does Hagin fulfil any of them? If not how then can he claim to be the same incarnation of God? The word alone means God became man, It does not mean Man can become God. So Hagin had to be God before he became man. In which case the trinity becomes more than a triune being. Many simply do not grasp that when men like Hagin describe themselves with the title as INCARNATION. They are not just saying they are a god, but they are part of the GODHEAD. Father Son holy spirit and Kenneth Hagin. To say the least this is blasphemy..

God commanded angels to worship Jesus >>> Does that mean angels should worship Hagin as well

Jesus had no beginning >>>> Hagin had a beginning

Jesus has no end of days >>>> Hagin died

Jesus was creator and sustainer of the universe>>>> Hagin could not even sustain his own life ,

Jesus was the only Begotten Son >>>> Hagin life was anything but unique.

Jesus had no sin >>>> Hagin was born and shapen in iniquity

Jesus had no mother or father >>>> Hagin had both a mother and Father.

Jesus knew what was in all men >>> I doubt If Hagin knew what was in his own heart.

Jesus still raised the dead , made the blind to see and ceased the storms. >>>>>Hagin failed that part as well. His own son in Law buddy Harris died of cancer. No healing and sadly no resurrection either.

Jesus remains our great high priests. >>>> Hagin can’t even fulfil that job requirement,

Jesus is our judge >>>>> Hagin was judged

Jesus gives life >>>> Hagin had no life to give He died

Jesus rose from the dead >>>> Hagin bones remain in his coffin.

Jesus rose himself from the dead >>>> Hagin could not even keep himself alive.

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit >>>> Hagin too late the Holy Spirit has already come

Holy Spirit came in Jesus name >>>> He does not come in Hagin’s name.

Holy spirit will reveal Jesus >>>> He did not come to reveal Hagin

Holy Spirit leads to the truth >>> Hagin followed the father of lies.

Holy Spirit motivates people to realise their sin and repent from it. >>> How can Hagin be a God when he was born a sinner.

God exists from eternity to eternity >>>> God was not made but exist outside of time. Hagin died period his time was up.

So when Hagin says he was as much an incarnation of God as Jesus was, he simply can not fulfill the job description.

THE ONLY PERSON TO FULFIL THESE SHOES AS THE TRUE INCARNATION OF GOD IS JESUS. THE REST IS SIMPLY MAKE BELIEVE AND FANTASY.

The story of the rosary goes like this.

Mary herself appeared to Saint Dominic in the twelfth century. At that time, tradition says she gave him the rosary and promised Dominic that if he spread devotion to the rosary, his religious order would flourish. It is quite true that Dominic was quite devoted to the Blessed Mother, but no one knows for sure if Our Lady herself gave Dominic the rosary. If she did, it is quite certain that she did not give him a rosary that looks like the one we have today.  Source http://www.personalizedrosaries.com/history.html

As we shall see the rosary has changed over the centuries.  So that what people hold in their hands today is not the same Rosary that Dominic was pushing.

This first rosary was prayed as we do today, a person would pass their fingers over each bead and say a prayer, usually the “Our Father”. The “Hail Mary” as we know it wasn’t even around at that time

The Hail Mary owes its origin to the rosary. When people said the rosary in the twelfth century, Gabrielle’s greeting “Hail Mary, full or grace, the Lord is with thee” was often said along with the Our Father. Later, Elizabeth’s greeting ”blessed are you among women” was added. It was not until the sixteenth century that the words “Holy Mary., Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death” were added.

Now why would Mary inspire something that was so imperfect, and incomplete when it was so important to the spiritual well being of a persons soul?  Maybe because it never was.  When  does  simply saying Hello to someone should take on some mystical proportions, because that was all the word “HAIL,” means.  Even Judas said Hail to Jesus just before he betrayed him.  The Roman Soldiers  who were to nail  Jesus to the cross used the same word in mockery.  Jesus  even used the  term when he met some of his disciples.

Mat 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshiped him.   Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

Yet no one would suggest to make any of  those instances into some repetitious prayer.  WHY NOT?  Maybe because none of these  instances are related to Mary who is the true object of these superstitious beads.

What did the Apostles do before the rosary came alone?   Were any of the Apostles lost for words when it came to talking to God?  Plus if this was the true Mary of the Bible she would also know Jesus dislike for repetitious prayers.  But this Mary decides to follow the other religions and their pagan practices.  A practice which even Catholic theologians admit to.

The Roman Catholic church offers up 15  promises to the devoted who use the Rosary.  It must be reminded that whenever an angel or prophet appeared in scripture they pointed to God and never to themselves as being the centre piece of devotion or reverence. Yet what we see is Mary pointing to herself time after time.  We shall call these promises 15 broken promises.

Rosary  and Mary  The 15 Promises of Mary  (our Lady ) to Christians Who Recite the Rosary
                                                          TRUE OR LIE? ….    SCRIPTURE…………
(1 )Whoever shall faithfully serve Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces. LIE Notice that the promises are all about MARY.  Serving her and giving devotion to the rosary.  The question is where in scripture were these promises come from?  Answer NO where.  They are all a LIE! Where in scripture does  it say “serve Mary” or even receive “ special”  protection by reciting an endless boring repetition of the same words. How can a finite woman protect anyone unless they attribute the nature and qualities of God?  Ie omnipresence to her.
(2)I promise My special protection and the greatest graces to all who shall recite the Rosary LIE How can a finite human offer protection to the many thousands who pray to her simultaneously across the world?  NO because that would again require the nature of Omnipresent God to do so.  Scripture always points to God as our protection and shield.
(3)The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.   LIE Scripture says put on the whole armour of God.  Nowhere does it say put on the armour of the rosary.  The rosary is never mentioned as being part of Gods armour. Eph 6: 14 – which speaks about breastplate belt shield footwear and even the sword of the spirit.  But Rosary is no where mentioned.  The simple fact is that the rosary has become a magic talisman to warn of evil.
(4) It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means LIE Mary continues to make promises which she can’t keep.  As we shall see there is a whole lot of these promises that if you recite the Rosary you will “receive Mercy of God”  Yet none of these promises will keep you out of purgatory.  IF THEY CANT KEEP YOU OUT OF PURGATORY THEN THE PROMISES GIVEN ARE FALSE.
(5) the soul which recommends itself to Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. LIE Follow Mary and all will be well.  Where does it say this in scripture?  Jesus says If you love him follow him.  He never said if you love me follow my mother.  Or talk to my Mum because she can sweet talk me around to her way of thinking.
(6)  Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.   LIE Notice what the promise says “God will not chastise him in his justice”  “He will not perish”  “He shall remain in the grace of God”  But none of this will work because she still has to save people from Purgatory.  Does it not say she can deliver from such a fate?  Clearly the answer is no.  Despite all the promises offered, they are not worth a dime as the Catholic is still punished by going to purgatory. Can any Catholic actually give a time scale on how long a person will spend in PURGATORY?
(7) Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.   LIE Still no good as the Catholic still lands up in purgatory.  It seems God grace is not quite sufficient to keep the soul out of purgatory.  So all the repetitions of the rosary has not worked.
(8) Those who are faithful in reciting the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.   LIE Now number 9 says she will deliver people from purgatory and yet here it says that at their death they will be rescued from such a fate by receiving the graces.  So which is it.  If they land up in purgatory then the graces received were no good?  This is like being told everything will be ok when in reality your going to die.
(9) I shall deliver from purgatory, those who have been devoted to the Rosary.   LIE So now Mary takes on the responsibility of saving people from Purgatory.  How does she know if there were faithful enough to be delivered unless she is omniscient?  Number 9 basically says you are going to purgatory anyway because she will deliver you “FROM “   Purgatory.
(10) The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven LIE Scripture no where mentions that some are rewarded more by reciting a repetitious prayers over and over and over.
(11) You shall obtain all you ask of Me by the recitation of the Rosary LIE John 15: 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  Jesus says ask him.  His mother is never mentioned.  Why ask someone else when Jesus is already available ?
(12) All those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by Me in their necessities LIE Heb 13: 5 Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.  This is Jesus promise to those who follow him. Mary is never mentioned!!  Nor can a finite creature have the power  to aid the many thousands who look to her at the same time.  She would have to be OMNIPRESENT AND OMNICIENT to achieve this.
(13) I have obtained from My Divine Son, that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessor, the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death LIE Jesus never once taught anything on this subject.  If anything he told the religious Jews to forsake repetitious prayers.Mat 6: 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Now you would have thought that Mary would have known what Jesus teaches on this.  But then this is not the Mary of the Bible.
(14) All who recite the Rosary are My sons, and brothers of My only son Jesus Christ LIE So all a person needs to do to become a son and daughter is to recite the rosary.  What did Jesus says.  Whoever does the will of my father is my brothers sisters and mother.  That included his mother Mary.
(15) Devotion to My Rosary is a great sign of predestination.  LIE Devotion to this rosary is a great sign that one has been hoodwinked.  Promises may have been made but this entity cant keep them and has no interest in doing so.

However where did the true origins of Prayer beads come from? Opinions vary from one author to another, however it is clear that prayer beads most certainly predate Catholicism and were widely used by many cultures pagan .

Other religions also use prayer beads.  Buddhism, Hinduism, Paganism and Islam employ have all used rosary beads as well.”

Janet Farrar & Gavin Bone in their publishing’s Sacred Mists Shoppe states “Prayer beads, or prayer rosaries, are really another form of the “witch’s ladder,” a knotted rope or cord used to count repetitions during a spell or ritual. Praying with beads is a spiritual practice with a long history in most of the world’s religions.”

Before the 12th century, rosaries were used for talismans (amulet or occult charms). Rosaries and prayer beads were intended by the catholic church hierarchy, for use by the ignorant.” -A HISTORY OF PRAYING ON BEADS  Patricia A. Dilley.

In 456 AD, Hindus are thought to have introduced the concept of praying with beads to the world. The earliest reference to a rosary (boberkhas) is in their “Jain Canon” (456 AD) These boberkhas had various numbers of beads 6,9,12,18,36 (any sub-multiple of 108) Islam (610 AD) uses a rosary of 99 beads, one for each of the names of God. Buddhists have 108 prayer beads on the string. The Rosary is of pagan origin and no Christian prior to 1000 AD used beads to pray.

Pagans had used prayer beads even before the 8th century

Often we use the phrase, Knock on wood – and proceed to do just that: knock on a table or a door or whatever wood is handy. Most do not know that the origin of the phrase and practice comes from the rosary. Rosaries in the old days were made of oak wood and were fingered in time of distress or trouble. Thus, holding on to or rubbing the wooden rosary or its wooden crucifix when danger was near became a common way for Catholics to deal with hardships and difficulties. The practice slipped into common use as Knock on wood. http://www.fresh-hope.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8117

The superstitious need to knock on wood has its origins with the rosary.   Cultures as diverse as the African Masai and Native American Yaqui have also used a form of prayer beads.  With some the origin simply started with a set number of pebbles used to recite their prayers. The first beads, made more than forty thousand years ago, were grooved pebbles, bones, and teeth. From the beginning, they had talismanic and symbolic connotations. Wearing an animal bone or tooth affirmed success in the hunt. The ancient Egyptians, whose use of beads goes back to 3200 B.C.E., called them sha sha – “luck.”

Aside from recitation of the vocal prayers, the Rosary includes meditation on the “MYSTERIES” and putting into practice what is meditated upon and expressed in vocal prayers. Catholics, then, may conclude, “the Holy Rosary is biblically based.” Meditating on important events in the life of Jesus and other virtuous servants of God and living it out in the daily life are indeed noble activities, but these activities can be done even without ritually reciting memorized prayers while using beads which the pagans also use. God’s people in the Bible practiced meditation and were prayerful, but none of them used vain repetitions or rosary beads in his prayers. Moreover, at least two of the so-called “MYSTERIES” involved in praying the Rosary are obviously not warranted by the Holy Scriptures. In announcing the “Fourth mystery – THE ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY” in the so-called “GLORIOUS MYSTERIES,” it proclaims: “We recall how Jesus has taken His Mother to heaven with body and soul as a generous reward for her devoted love to Him while on earth.” How to Say the Rosary p. 22 Nowhere in the Bible can we find that “Jesus has taken His Mother to heaven with body and soul.”  When Jesus died he was around 33 years old, which would make Mary at least 50 years old.  The Acts and the Epistles covered at least another 50 years.  Upon which Mary would most certainly have died in that period.  There is simply no record anywhere of Mary ascending up into heaven as Jesus did.  The absence of anything predominantly about Mary says volumes.

In the “FIFTH MYSTERY – THE CORONATION OF OUR LADY IN HEAVEN” of your so-called “GLORIOUS MYSTERIES,” it announces: “We recall how Mary enter heaven and is greeted by the endless jubilation of angels and saints. Jesus sets upon her head the crown as Heaven’s Queen.” How to Say the Rosary p. 23 Regarding the “Glorious Mysteries,” the Pope John Paul II himself in his Apostolic Letter “The Rosary of the Virgin Mary” states: “In the Ascension, Christ was raised in glory to the right hand of the Father, while Mary herself would be raised to that same glory in the Assumption, enjoying beforehand, by a unique privilege, the destiny reserved for all the just at the resurrection of the dead. Crowned in glory – as she appears in the last glorious mystery – Mary shines forth as Queen of the Angels and Saints…” (p.16) Again, these teachings are without biblical basis.

Even the  Pope can not read from the Scriptures that Mary was “crowned in glory … as Queen of the Angels and Saints” and that “Jesus sets upon her head the crown as Heaven’s Queen.” As a matter of fact, no less that Catholic priests and authorities testify to the fact that Mary’s “Assumption” or being “taken … to heaven with body and soul” is not found in the Holy Scriptures: “There is no statement of the Assumption in Holy Scripture. Moreover, of we consult the historical writings of the first five centuries, we find them void of any historical data to certify that fact of the Assumption.” God the Redeemer by Charles G. Herzog p. 98 “There is no explicit reference to the assumption in the Bible, yet the Pope insists in the decree of promulgation that the Scriptures are the ultimate foundation of this truth.” New Catholic Encyclopedia Vol. I, 1967, p. 972 The Assumption, therefore, is nothing but just a mere assumption, and nothing more than a modern invention of men.

So why would God employ a method used widely among many pagan cultures which see people devote themselves to repetitious prayers , when even Jesus rejected such practices. Allow it to evolve over the centuries and then make a whole load of promises based not upon himself but upon a finite human being who is incapable of keeping those same promises?  What was originally believed as nothing more as a form of helping to repeating the psalms suddenly has changed to incorporate prayers to Mary?  The history of the rosary has come a long way from its infancy, in which we see a greater incorporating of Mary in a more progressive and predominant way.    Plus what is a good motivator is that Rosary beads make money.  Those who make such beads would see to it that their trade is not jeopardized.

NUM 23: 19 God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

This verse has been held up countless times by anti Christian opponents as proof that God cannot become a man.  Now as a Christian we believe in a triune being.  Father the son and the Holy Spirit.  God the son became a man born of a woman and took on human nature.    In which Jesus was both fully God and fully man.

Col 2: 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily

Rom 1: 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

So the question arises does this verse in Numbers dispute the verses in the New Testament?

If we simply take the first line and do what Moslems and other try to do and quote

“ GOD IS NOT A MAN”

Now if the verse stopped there, then possibly there may be a slim glimmer of an argument.  But as you can see it does not.  Because the verse itself goes on to say:

“GOD IS NOT A MAN THAT HE SHOULD LIE.”

Notice what the verse is actually saying and not what some have made it to say.  Such is the dishonesty of those whose hatred for the very idea that God can come down among man in love to seek and save the lost.

The context of which God is saying that he not like someone who lying.    Further more it also goes on to build on this by saying.  “NOR THE SON OF MAN THAT HE SHOULD REPENT”.  If God is perfect why should he ever need to repent of doing something wrong?  As God does not lie he has no need to repent unlike humans.  So we can see how dishonest people go out of their way to manipulate scripture to prove something which it does not.

If anything it gives a glimpse into the hearts of many who do injustice to Gods word.  Simply they have no love for the truth or the scriptures.  For had they done so they would have never have wrestled with it to say something it never did.

Now let us look at a prime example of a dear lady who seeks to argue this very point.  As you will see she distorts the verse to say what it does not say.  We shall call this dear lady Michelle.

Michelle:     yeshke did not fullfill the prophesies of Messiah and no GD is not a man Numbers 23:19.

In response to this statement her further response was

Michelle:     what does it say? ?? GD IS NOT A MAN. …. thank you now stop trying to tell jews that your rotting corpse gd is the GD of israel! !!

As you can see her real problem is fundamentally a hatred for Jesus.  In reality this is what Jesus himself spoke about. Now this Jewess is not the only ones to argue using this verse in this manner.  Moslems have also tried to manipulate and wrestle scripture in said manner.

Michelle:     hows this: JEWS dont require NONJEWS to interprete JEWISH SCRIPTURE. for JEWS. …… And yes numbets 23:19 GD is not a man that He should be deceitful, nor son of man that he should relent……. HELLOOOOOOOOOOO GD IS NOT A MAN! !!!!

It seems even when she quotes the rest of the verse she is unable to grasp the contextualization of the verse.  Falls back on what all cults do.  You are incapable of having an opinion which contradicts mine.  Yet it is clear how angry she has become when it is simply pointed out that she is lying and being deceitful.

  • Michelle:     i posted the correct verse but your more than welcome to reject it and continue to worship your corpse deity……

As you can see she is quite unable to grasp the gravity of her mistake.  Such is her hatred that she has become blinded to the obvious.  Sadly she is not alone as many will no doubt in an attempt to dispute the truth of the incarnate son.  Yet even if we put that fact to one side for a moment,   Simple Basic English grammar is thrown to the wind .  The verse itself does not say “God is not a man (Stop)  But he is not a man that he should LIE”

Michelle   i love HASHEM, i worship HASHEM. i dont worship a rotting corpse as GD. ive posted you verses where HASHEM is saying HES NOT A MAN, DOES NOT DECEIVE, NOR CHANGE, yet you wish to believe the opposite of GDS words about Himself. … thats your business leave US ALONE TO WORSHIP HASHEM THE GD OF ISRAEL.

Now we can see the real reason that she feels obliged to twist scripture.  Yet is she was truly a lover of God she would seek to earnestly quote such verses correctly and in context.  This dear lady makes it clear she does not and will not  do honour to the very words God has inspired.

It also shows that she worships her religion and not her God.

Rom 1: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen

The dear lady brought up another verse which is worth noting.

1 Sam 15: 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he [is] not a man, that he should repent..

Here again we have a similar verse stating almost the same words as we see in  NUM 23: 19.  As you can see the context is exactly the same.  “He is not a man….. that he should repent”  Only by cutting the verse short can you come to the conclusion this dear lady came to.  Yet the verse goes on to place the verse into context.  “a man that he should repent ”   The context of the whole verse is everything.

Michelle:    I’ve changed nothing GD says He’s not a man. so why are you worshipping a man? ??

Michelle:    I am not blind. as im not a xtian. and yiu cherry pick jewish verses and twist them to suit your false dead gd. BTW MORTALITY PROVES ONE IS NOT DEVINE. …..

Sadly this dear lady is either totally oblivious to her mistake or just chooses to lie.  I will let you choose which group she is in?

Mack Wolford died after being bitten by a rattlesnake

The Modern practice of modern snake handling goes back to around 1910.  However the history of snake handling goes back even further as present day Indian snake charmers would testify.   It is reckoned that by the 1020 all Holiness and Pentecostal churches had rejected the practice.  However the practice has continued.  Official figures on how many churches are involved vary from anything from 40 to 100.  So the basic truth of the matter is that no one really knows for sure.  Different states have different legislation to ban the practice.

The law on this matter in the USA varies from state to state.  This web site gives an interesting look into the legal side of this matter.  http://yeltsin.tripod.com/law/law.htm

When people use the term Christian in the same sentence as the Appalachian region they most always think of snake handlers.  The verse they always point to is from Mark Gospel.

Mark 16: 17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Whilst American does not openly condemn the practise per say and thus avoid being accused of stopping religious freedom, they will prosecute the ownership selling and possessing of illegal reptiles.  In the hope that if can curtail the flow they can curtail the practice.

This was done with a Pastor Coots from the Full Gospel Tabernacle in the name of Jesus in Middlesboro, after a Tennessee woman died after being bitten by a rattlesnake during one of his services.

The report reads:

“The pastor of a Kentucky church that handles snakes in religious rites was among 10 people arrested by wildlife officers in a crackdown on the venomous snake trade.

More than 100 snakes, many of them deadly, were confiscated in the undercover sting after Thursday’s arrests, said Col. Bob Milligan, director of law enforcement for Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.

Most were taken from the Middlesboro home of Gregory James Coots, including 42 copperheads, 11 timber rattlesnakes, three cottonmouth water moccasins, a western diamondback rattlesnake, two cobras and a puff adder. “

Whilst snake handling is bad enough but to have them in under the same roof as your wife and kids is reckless indeed.

Another  reports states:

Some believers also drink poisons during as strychnine or gasoline in accordance with the five signs. Serpent-handling began in the Church of God around 1910 and is practiced by about 2,000 people throughout parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. It is illegal in all states except West Virginia. But experts say the practice is declining.

“When you see it done, you cannot believe your eyes,” said the Rev. Bill Leonard, a professor of church history and religion at Wake Forest University and a scholar of snake-handling congregations.

“They know what the dangers are and they play gospel roulette by doing this, “Leonard told Discovery News. “They pick up the serpents in all kinds of ways, often more than one in their hands.”Leonard estimates between 75 and 100 people have died over the past century of snake handling. He says families who belong to these congregations believe their faith will keep them alive, that’s why they don’t have snake venom anti-toxins available should something go wrong.

In a more recent report of a Pentecostal Pastor

“A Pentecostal pastor famed for handling snakes during church sermons has died after being bitten by a rattlesnake.

Mark “Mack” Wolford, 44, was well-known across the US state of Virginia for his lively church services, which included handling dangerous snakes in a ‘test of faith’. But the pastor died after being bitten by a rattlesnake he had owned for years, mirroring the death of his own father in 1983. Holding an outdoor service in which serpents where passed around among church members, Wolford was bitten in the thigh by a yellow rattlesnake as he sat on the floor next to it. The service was quickly disbanded as the pastor was taken to family member’s house to recover, but he later died in hospital from poisoning. Wolford had been bitten on three previous occasions, but did not seek medical attention as he regarded the injury as a test of faith. “He helped me to understand the faith instead of just documenting it,” photographer and eyewitness Lauren Pond told the Washington Post. “He was one of the most open pastors I’ve ever met. He was a friend and a teacher.” “I didn’t see the bite, I saw the aftermath” she added. Source http://uk.news.yahoo.com/pastor-killed-in-rattlesnake-attack-during-church-service.html

However at what point does faith become presumption?

The last hundred years has seen a recorded history in deaths which were directly associated with “faith” teachings.  A faith that was not based upon Biblical faith but an ideology that tempts God.  Presumption would be a better term to use.  No where are we encourage  to prove our faith by taking up snakes, or drinking deadly poison.  The practicality is that if you happen to be bitten, or drink poison then and only then we can have faith to believe God for intervention.  The fact that this ideology went so far as to see ill patients refusing basic medications or rejecting any hospital care, because that would be seen as a lack of faith.  As if God was at odds with medicine, many would lay in their beds dying when a simple prescription from a doctor would have cured them.  The accusation is that if you died then you simply did not have enough faith is an excuse that just does not cut it.  True faith trusts God in the situation, it does not demand that we put ourselves in the situation.  Nor does it demand that God gets us out of the situation .  Whilst I have no doubt that Gods grace does indeed intervene, it does not mean that we continue down a road with the full knowledge that one bite or the rejection of basic medical help is somehow a sign that we don’t trust God.  Sometimes Medicine is Gods way of intervention.

On one snake Handlers web site the whole premise of handling snakes becomes the basis as to who is saved and who is not.  Otherwise if you don’t handle snakes or are afraid to do so, then your not a true believer.  Here is what he had to say.

“To me, you are not a true Pentecostal or Holiness believer if you reject the handling of serpents. Don’t waste the Lord’s time professing to be a believer in GOD if you can’t follow his commandments”

So faith alone is no longer good enough we must now add works by handling snakes and drinking poison.  I am sure the people who died in Jones town might have thought the same.  They all died when they drank poison.  Where in scripture are we told to prove our faith by handling snakes and drinking poison?

“ Acts 28: 5 is a loop hole for all Christians, who are too scared to handle serpents and drink poison as instructed in Mark 16: 17,18. They use “reasoning” that implies that they will handle a serpent accidentally, but not deliberately. GOD doesn’t REASON. Satan does REASONING – not GOD”

Now reasoning is unbiblical according to this proponent of the teaching?  Don’t think about the consequences just do it.  Reasoning that the whole idea is dumb is really satanic.  Is reasoning at odds with scripture or is blind faith the new revelation?

Is 1: 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool

NO God gave us the ability to reason and work through an issue.  The very fact that so many of these snake handlers have died following such practices , only shows that there has to be more too it.

Mark 16: 18 has become the in Manuel to prove ones faith in the same way as tongue did in Pentecostalism.  Yet Tongues has become one of the most counterfeited gifts in the 20 century. In fact in some Pentecostal circles the ability to speak in tongues became the proof that you were saved.  The many who found themselves unable to do so were seen as second class Christians.

The fact of the matter scripture makes it clear that not everyone has the gift of tongues.  Not everyone has the gift of healing and I suspect even fewer have the gift to handle snakes either.  The Bible remains strangely silent on this matter. Acts 28 where Paul is bitten by a snake is the only example in scripture, and no where  are we told that this was some special snake handling service.    No where else do we even see any of the apostles having snake handling services, or scouring the landscape for venomous snakes to prove that they were saved.    The same proponent pointed to Moses as being the first to handle snakes, but it must also be noticed that he was also the last.  There was no scriptural evidence or mandate for any priest or prophet to prove or validate his claims by having a snake handling service.  It must also be noticed that it was not Moses ability to handle the snake, but the miracle that his rod changed into a snake and ate the rest.

Moslems present Muhammad as the perfect example of a prophet and yet even the Koran paints a totally different picture than the one Moslems hold up as the “Perfect Example”.  In comparison Jesus is denigrated as just another mere prophet.  Whose message was rejected and distorted.  In fact they present Jesus as something of a failed prophet that was saved only by the timely intervention of Allah.    However they fail to answer having allowed another innocent man to be crucified in his place, he hides out for three days and appears as if he had be resurrected.  Such a deception if true would make allah the worst of offenders.  So who is the best example?

Muhammad : Who tried to pay for his own sins and died.  Today Muhammad lies in his grave

Or

The Lamb of God:  who paid for the sins of others and died. Today his grave is empty and he lives for evermore.

As scripture says ” Choose you this day whom you will serve”

Acts 5: 32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him

Acts 1: 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God

Sometimes people love to turn around and state that maybe Jesus never really existed.  He is just another folk story like Robin Hood or something?

Whilst many would feel more comfortable simply dismissing Jesus, the reality is that historical evidence does indeed exist.

The politics that existed at that time.
The people that existed at that time
The writings that existed at that time.
The culture that existed at that time.
The places that existed at that time.
Even Christ’s enemies who hated feared and loathed him have never once denied his existence.
The overwhelming amount of prophecies that Jesus fulfilled

To even deny that Jesus existed in the face of so much evidence would be the same as denying that John F Kennedy was assassinated. Would anyone dare to deny what the world saw on that day, or would they believe some future writer that writes a book denying what everyone knows?

We have stated categorically that Jesus did indeed exist, was crucified and died. Those who followed him and became convinced that what took place were willing to give their lives for the truths they discovered. After His resurrection there were 500 witnesses who saw Him alive, better than many football games. In the face of Roman oppression they were filled by the Holy Spirit and went out spreading the good news like men who were possessed.  Even the fear of death did not stop them.   They did not question that Jesus might have been resurrected from the dead, they knew he had.

Jesus was no stranger to them, they knew him. Those who took up the torch to proclaim his resurrection were not just convinced by some passing stranger.  They had lived and walked with him for three years.  They had heard his message; they saw the miracles that he did.  They saw the dead rise and the wounded healed.  They saw a man who had been crucified and beaten present himself alive whilst still retaining the wounds on his hands feet and side.  No a ghost but a living person.  Most of all what he said before he was killed became the corner stone of what took place afterwards.  His testimony gave life and meaning to what now takes place.

In the face of possible Roman oppression these same quivering men who hide after Jesus Crucifixion became firebrands for the faith. Death did not slow them down. The threats of violence simply spurned them on. Even Roman governors could not ignore this move. The life of Christ became a shining light in the Middle East in a way no army could conquer. No insurrection could slow down and no lion could tame.

The apostle John who was probably the nearest to those who knew Jesus, willing endured the indignity of being boiled in oil in some attempt to execute him. God delivered him and he was probably the only one to survive martyrdom. He died in Ephesus around about 100AD. Their testimonies we have with us today. We share the same experiences they have of salvation. So that today we are still witnesses to Jesus resurrection. What the Bible says would happen to the believer is still the same as what these disciples experienced then.

We know he exists because he lives in every true believer.

There are many historical figures which have appeared on the scene and there are few who would reject their historical existence and yet we have far less historical data on them.  Could it be that for many they don’t demand a moral response from us in the way Jesus does?  They can be embraced and our lives would not be changed.  But this man there is a difference.   His claims demand everything we have.  Rocks the very foundations of our lives; Exposes our selfishness;   will not excuse out wickedness; lays bare our souls before him.  Before such a man we become like dead men walking or a frantic soul that is going down for the last time, in a sea of raging waves and torrential rain. Before this man the nice status quo of our lives is overturned and will never ever be the same again.

For many this makes them very very uncomfortable.  But the life he gives in return is far greater than the one we gave up.  The hope we receive becomes that glorious illuminating reality.  So that we can also say “I KNOW, I KNOW HE LIVES, BECAUSE HE LIVES IN ME”

The witness continues within the believer,  To them, Within them and By them

1 JOHN 4: 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit

2 COR 6: 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

John 14: 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14: 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

So the answer is absolutely HE LIVES AND HE EXISTS AND HE NOW INTERCEEDS FOR ME AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER.

The Bible of King James

First printed 400 years ago, it molded the English language, buttressed the “powers that be”—one of its famous phrases—and yet enshrined a gospel of individual freedom. No other book has given more to the English-speaking world.

King James Version

To many the King James Version is just another version of the Bible.  Few however realise the authority it holds, or even the degree that’s its language and concepts have been enshrined in our everyday language. Its ideas and words have influenced generations.  Possibly no other version carries with it so much respect.

I can remember as a child being given a Small New Testament King James Bible by the Gideon’s after the morning school service.  Whilst other children joked about what they would do with it, I found myself holding what I believed was a treasure.  There was something about this little book that was to be held in the greatest respect. This was not just any book, it was thee book.  This was HOLY GROUND!!!

I did not know then the power and influence it would make on my life until years later.  But what I read from time to time was sowing and eventually what was sown would reap a harvest.  God knew my heart better than I knew it myself.  Whilst I have opened many a version, the power of the King James is still my version of choice.  I can remember picking up and reading it as a young lad page after page, but they were simply words on a page with no understanding of the concepts.  Until I surrender my life to God, and those same word suddenly were opened to me.  Suddenly the words took on meaning, verses became chapters, with it came knowledge of who God was and what he did in my life.  I have never forgotten that awesome reality.  This is GODS WORD and his spirit brought it alive and shone the light of his truth into my being.

Recently the National Geographic did an article entitled the KING JAMES VERSION. Although it was not completely written from a Christian perspective, it never the less revealed some fascinating and dynamic aspects.

“The King James Version has introduced 18 classic phrases into the English language and made famous some 240 more from earlier English Translations.  Googled searched 2.4 million of its digitised English – language books with its nigram viewer for the 18 original phrases and a selection of others.  Phrases such as “ From time to time” Ezek 4: 10 which has been the most popular over the last 200 years.

Here is a list of the more popular phrases that have become institutionalised into the English language
“Thorn in the flesh”  2 Cor 12: 7  “Set thy house in order “ Is 38: 1  Much study is weariness of the flesh” Ecc 12: 12
“Fell flat on his face” Numbers 23: 31  “Pour out your heart”  Ps 62: 8 “Be horribly afraid” Jer 2: 12
“Lay up for yourself treasures in heaven” Matthew 6: 20  “The skin of my teeth “ Job 19: 20 “Fell flat on his face” Num 22: 31
The root of the matter”  Job 19: 28 “Stand in Awe”  Ps 4: 4 No small stir” Acts 12: 18
“Suffer little children “ Luke 8: 16  “Unto the pure all things are pure” Titus 1: 5  “Know for certainty” Joshua 23: 13
“East of Eden” Gen 4: 16  “Beat their swords into Plowshares” Is 2: 4 “As a lamb to the slaughter”Is 53: 7

Its thoughts and ideas has influence countless including poets writers,  and governments. The beauty of the King James has endured far longer than most modern versions

Only eternity will disclose the numbers of lost souls who found sanctuary in its pages.  When men’s hearts doubted this word brought Assurance.  When the sick were lying on beds of pain they found comfort.  The lost found a light to guide their way.  Fearful were assured.  Those who hoped found peace. Those who cried out found grace.

The article in the National Geographic starts with this story

Wager, a Baptist preacher now, is a former bull-riding and saddle-bronc pro, “with more bone breaks in my body than you’ve got bones in yours.” He’s part Dutch, part Seneca on his father’s side, Lakota on his mother’s, married to a full-blood Jicarilla Apache.

He tells them about his wild career. He was raised on a ranch in South Dakota; he fought and was beaten up, shot, and stabbed. He wrestled and boxed, he won prizes and started drinking. “I was a saphead drunk.”

But this cowboy life was empty. He was looking for meaning, and one day in the drunk tank in a jail in Montana, he found himself reading the pages of the Bible. “I looked at that book in jail, and I saw then that He’d established me a house in heaven… He came into my heart.”

The heads around the preacher go down, and the words he whispers, which the rodeo riders listen to in such earnestness, are not from the American West: They are from England, translated 400 years ago by a team of black-gowned clergymen who would have been as much at home in this world of swells and saddles, pearl-button shirts and big-fringed chaps as one of these cowboys on a Milanese catwalk. “Second Corinthians 5. ‘Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.'”

When I read this I almost stood to my feet and cheered.   Take the time to read the rest of the article as its takes the time to reveal the history of the King James Version from its humble roots to one of the best loved versions ever printed.
