Now this was asked by a Moslem as a trick question, which going by experience was normal for them?   Naturally as Christian we have a tendency to emphasise on the resurrection of Jesus and what took place in his humanity after his resurrection.

Now as we would obviously note that because Jesus had risen he would not be in the grave on the Fourth or fifth day.  The response from this Moslem was that Jesus could not be God because he was not in the grave.  Cheap shot at best and completely dumb.

Nevertheless it does raise a question which can be answered.  WHERE WAS JESUS DURING THOSE DAYS?  WE KNOW WHERE HIS BODY LAY BUT WHERE WAS THE REST OF HIM?

Had he had the honesty to ask the obvious relevant question he would probably have received the obvious answer that we shall now look at?

Now we have several references as to where Jesus was during this time.

(1)     Lk 23: 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

(2)   1 Peter 3: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison

(3)   Mat 28: 20-Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen

(4)   Heb 9: 23 It was] therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [which are] the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Jesus made certain promises to his disciples that he would be with them always.  So even when his body lay in the grave, he was with them.  Although they did not see him physically he was nevertheless with them in spirit.  Therefore he had never left them.

We also know he went and preached to those who were held in prison.

1 Peter 3: 19- 20 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;  Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water

Finally the promise to the repentant thief was the promise that he would be with Christ in paradise.     Christ did not leave to go elsewhere.

Jesus also took his own blood and entered into the holy place in heaven of which the holy of holies was a type, and offered his own blood for the ransom of many.

Now all these things took place simultaneously over the course of those days.  That means he is the omnipresent God, and fully capable of doing what needed to be done.

If Jesus needed to be with someone in the grave he most certainly could have.  Unlike allah who can’t.  Nevertheless we have another promise:

Mat 22: 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

As Jesus reminded us Math 28:20 he continues to remain with us both in life and in death.  Except in death we go to be with Christ

2 Cor 5: 8 We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, present with the Lord

We hold to a covenant keeping God

Where does this confidence come from?

It comes from the Bible as we gain confidence in Gods ministerial ministry among his people.  The Bible is not so much about man finding God, But how Gods finds men.  The Bible is really all about how a perfect righteous holy God gets his hands dirty and reveals himself to those who follow him.   He gets involved in the lives of men and women who are not perfect, pure or saintly.  They all have history that would in some cases turn our heads at.  Murderers thieves adulterers, schemers, Harlots, and much much more.  It is the fact that God reaches out to these people that helps the rest of us as we all have history.    None of us come with a perfect record.  Yet God is bold enough gracious enough and loving enough to touch people’s lives.

For many and that includes Moslems they can’t understand this.  They don’t have a religion that sees individual Moslems meet with God.  Or if they do they will usually leaven Islam.

It comes from a deep personal experience of walking with him and seeing answers to life’s issues.   God remains a God who is very much a part of the lives of his people.

SO TO ANSWER THE ORIGIONAL QUESTION.?  HE WAS WHERE HE NEEDED TO BE.

UCMINISTRIES : This is but a crude illustration which describes the origin of the Word of Faith, or as some have coined The Prosperity Movement..  Whilst this is by no means a complete or exhaustive picture, it does show how the origins of this teaching stem not from scripture but the doctrines of men.   The various relationships between the various ministries may vary from person to person, but there can be no doubt that the influences do exist.

Jude 1: 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ

2 Peter 2: 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction

2 Peter 3: 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

This was predicted centuries ago and we are now seeing the fulfilment.  Sadly many a good man or women has been caught up in the movement and swept along.  These Pillow prophets have merchandised the gospel, crept in under our radar and seduced the church with their pernicious teachings.    I can only hope in time this tree with be added to show how others fit into the picture.  Mark them well as they have neither the health of your soul or your spiritual well being in mind.

Mat 7: 15 -18 @ 20 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

There are many who do come to reject what Hagin taught, yet do not even realise that they are still drinking from the same polluted well. The same theology of faith as a force and the power in words to create ones own reality, still posses a heavy cocktail that many find to hard to renounce.  Motivational speakers like Joyce Mayer and Joel Osteen present to the unwary their own rehash revamped mixture of positive thinking and prosperity gospel all rolled into one.  Many see in these preachers what they lack in themselves, a positive image, a deep sense of self worth, and the need to see themselves in a more positive constructive light.  The sad reality however it is still not the gospel.  What makes this all the more dangerous is that these preachers are elevated and enthroned on pedestals as latter day apostles.  They cannot be questioned or rebuked less you are touching upon the Lords anointed.

The roots of this philosophy go very deep into a theology that’s alien to scripture.  Whilst Biblical terms like faith in God are used, inevitably faith gets placed in everywhere else but God.     The message may sound overwhelmingly positive but positivity in of itself is still not scripture.

Scripture is made into a repetitive confession simply to be declared, rather than a belief to be lived by, and just because a man can confess there is a GOD does not mean he truly knows him.  A reptititious confession cannot bring a man closer to God, than reading a book makes you known to the author.

To say that the gospel has been hijacked is an under statement.  It has been repackaged, relabelled, prostituted to the ninth degree, Pimped out to whoever will be pay a buck, rebranded all in the name of God.  If Jesus was around to day he would have to cleanse the temple all over again.  Then we wonder why Christianity today if failing.  Unless we have smoke machines and disco lights on the platform the youth are not interested.  The Old guard are pushed out as out of touch and out of date.  Worship is more like an hour at the local disco.

.

I believe in the rapture of the church.  Its truth is firmly grounded in scripture.  Every true Bible believing Christian longs for the day we depart this scene of sin and sickness.  We long to be clothed and raised to stand before the one who died to save us.

1 Thess 4: 16-18   For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.raptured ready

However I am persuaded that for many the images of vast numbers disappearing before people’s eyes simply is not going to happen.  In fact religious Christendom will remain intact.  Christian TV will continue to broadcast their message. Many Mega churches will continue their services and the happy clappy sermons of prosperity health and wealth.  Worship reminiscent of pop and rock will continue along with all the smoke and mirrors we have become so accustomed too.

With the exception of a few the world will continue as if nothing has happened.  People go missing every day and little is done to find them.  I have no doubt that the prescribe message has already been written to excuse those who have disappeared.  As the world looks upon what they believe is Christendom they will sign a relief that any stories of rapture was simply another Harold Camping fiasco.  Jokes will flow and the Rapture will just become the  butt of every comedian show.

No one will bother to go looking as sudden world events will take a twist capturing hearts and minds.    Those who relatives who have disappeared, will take comfort that any excuse is available but the real one.

For those who have been raptured we will be attending to other matters, as we enter into the marriage of the Lamb.  Resurrected and finally clothed in resurrected bodies that cannot be touched or hindered by age sin or infirmity.   The dream will have passed and the reality has dawned and we will be home.  bodies that were onced racked with pain and age will rise with incorruption.  Gloriously clothed in purity holiness and righteousness.

Let  the world laugh and joke, but the saints will be the ones to have the last laugh.  Not at the lost who will be left behind but with joy unspeakable at being in the presence of the saviour whose blood won our redemption and make us acceptable in the beloved.

COME LORD JESUS COME AND CLAIM YOUR BRIDE

In a recent debate on the issue of Joyce Meyers, the argument went something like this:

“But people are getting saved through her ministry”

The idea being that if Joyce and her fellow prosperity teachers are saving souls they cant be that bad.   I have a friend whose father in Law went to a Benny Hinn crusade and went forward to be saved.  After that they would not hear anything bad about Benny.

NOW IT A FAIR ENOUGH QUESTION IF THEY ARE WINNING CONVERTS SURELY THAT CAN’T BE BAD?

Now please notice that I have change the wording from actually being saved to winning converts, because numbers are not really a basis to determine if someone is genuine.  The appeal to converts does not in itself determine the message.  There is no doubt many cults including the rev Sun Moon of the unification church  and even Islam  all groupingboast in their numbers  as the principle basis that numbers somehow equals truth.   Yet we know their message is in no way genuine.

So the number game does not determine the message or the fruit.  Jesus had few followers at the end and yet his message and fruit was more than genuine.   Sadly it has become the principle debate that mega churches are automatically right simply because of their numbers.    We can’t go on that basis.  As scripture says Broad is the road that leads to destruction, and narrow is the road that leads to life.  The broad road is easy to find, but the narrow is so much harder to find, never mind squeeze through.

THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS, SOME OF WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS OUT OF A GENUINE MOTIVE.

Phil 1: 16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds.

Just because someone preaches a gospel message:  Appears to use all the right terminology and even makes an altar call, is no guarantee they are the genuine article.  People have preached the gospel for many reasons.  Some of which have been for reasons altogether insincere.  Many have done so because there were dollar signs attached.   Such as with the case of Marjoe Gortner who for many years went on the preaching circuit, and accumulated vast sums of wealth.   He was brought up by his parents to be the boy preacher.  Many believed on him, followed him.  He preached and prayed for the sick and could speak in tongues as good as anyone.    Yet he is on record as never ever being a true believer.  He could say all the right things and make all the right moves, but was never the genuine article.   Yet how many bought into this mans message and dare I say anointing?  Just because a man claims he is anointed, does not mean he is?  In the end he did a final preaching tour with a camera team to expose just how easy people could be deceived.  Sadly many missed the lesson!!!!

2 Peter 2: 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet

BUT WHAT IF A PERSON GETS SAVED THROUGH A FALSE TEACHER?

Balaam’s was rebuked by his ass and what the ass said was true.  Now did ass gather a following afterwards?  Just because a ass bore some fruit does not mean we should all follow the ass.  The ass may have been used once but the ass remained just an ass.    So someone may have been witness to by something someone said.  Still does not mean we follow the ass.    Plus and what makes this all the more important is the preacher is not the one who does the saving, God does.  Yet in listening to some you can’t help walk away with the thought that the preacher becomes the one who does.

There is an interesting line to point out here.  The messenger is still only the messenger.  A sign post on the road is still only a sign post, but he is never the vehicle that takes you to the end of the road.    So even if someone is convinced by an individual, like Joyce Meyers.  Joyce is not the one who saves, God alone saves the lost soul.  What many are actually pointing to is the fact that Copeland Osteen Meyers or the many others are actually doing is winning converts to themselves, rather than to the Lord.

IF NOT SAVED , THEN WHAT ARE THEY SAVED TO?

Heb 4: 2 For unto us was the gospelpreached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it].

It would seem that in some conversation with people, it becomes clear that it is not a matter that people are being saved to know the Lord, But that they are being converted to a certain individual.  What happens is that the convert instead of running after God, spends their time running after the messenger.  When the messenger falls the converts fall away.  It may not always happen,  they may come through to a genuine path and therefore to a genuine faith.  But when trust is misplaced and these pillow prophets will often package their message in such as way that they place themselves central to their message.  That people inevitable follow the individual thinking they are following God..

IT’S ALL IN HOW THE MESSAGE IS PACKAGED

There is great subtly in the way the prosperity message is packaged.  There is almost a two tier lever of consciousness to their message.  Yet whilst many hear one level they will embrace both.  One is a very vocal top message that’s very positive.   This message is very comfortable to embrace, health peace financial stability, divine health and how to love oneself.

There is a lot what I call mixture, where both truth and error are all blended in together and it takes almost a blowtorch to separate the two.

But the core lever of the message which drives the top message is altogether prejudice against the truth of scripture.  Both are inevitably embraced without the realisation that the core message is poison and dangerous to the soul.  I have talked with a number of Prosperity believers who would argue blind that Copeland, Hagin and others did not teach a specific aspect of their message.  Yet in the continual conversation on the subject they would begin to mimic the very thing they denied previously.  It is both curious and alarming that the individuals do not see this reality.  It takes some persuasion before even they begin to see that the truth of the falseness of these teachers is actually coming out of their own mouths.

The final level is probably the worst in this regard that they both see believe and accept that what is being taught by these people is not accord with scripture.  It is almost impossible to reach them without God.  At this level the individuals are so persuaded, and their conscience has been so seared and hardened that it almost impossible to reach.    They know what they believe and could not care that the doctrine they pursue is error.

To put is bluntly people are being brainwashed by this heresy.  Because this message is often repeated word for word, with only minor changes people are becoming subconsciously persuaded by it. Just as people are persuaded to buy the next new product on the market, so people are being persuaded in the same way.  The constant repetition of any product is eventually picked up by some consumer, so the message if listen to on a regular basis on Books TV and tape will eventually hit its mark.

I know of another dear friend who was involved in a church that embraced this heresy many years ago.  Whilst he knows that the prosperity teaching is wrong.  He totally rejects it as heresy.  Yet there are times he comes out with something that I can tell is from the prosperity Message.  Unless you are fully aware of why how and where you can miss the subtitle of this heresy, but once you see and grasp where it is wrong it sticks out like a boulder.

Joel Osteen’s new book 31 declarations to speak over your life is not new but simply a

WITH A GIFT OF $125 OR MORE

continuation of what many an oil snake salesmen have embarked on before hand.  Its not that one cannot be positive in what one confesses, but the belief that what one confesses will bring that blessing to you.   Osteen like most Prosperity teachers believe in the power of ones words.  So unless its confessed you cant have it.  If we are truly blessed then we don’t need to confess what  we already have, nor do we need to buy the books, tapes or the various gimmicks which go with it.  The coffee cup with the declarations written on the side will no doubt last less time with constant washing that the book will.  But it simply testifies to the gimmicks such men use.  Can anyone really see Jesus or his disciples selling such paraphernalia to make themselves a buck or two?

2 Peter 2: 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Truly this prophecy has come to pass in our modern church

The sad reality is that TV prosperity ministries, has become nothing more than a sales pitch gimmickry. By polished sales men with sleazy smiles and dressy clothes selling people what is inevitably a false message. It might soothe the conscience to sleep, but it will never transport them to a celestial home.

Where is the gospel message ? Where is the conviction where men trembled at the preaching of the word? Where is the reality of holiness and separation? Where is the truth about SIN.  Its ugliness,  and it power to separate the soul from God? Where is the message of fire and brimstone? Men might not like it but we need it. The cost is too great. Life is too short and eternity too long to be wooed to sleep. We all need the message that will arouse us out of our comfort zone , which will cut us to the heart and shock us to the realisation of our needs. The true gospel is not a matter of being positive or negative, But TRUTH and ERROR. The true Gospel brings conviction and change. The true gospel does not appeal to our flesh, its huts because it needs to.

No Osteen does not want to upset his members with such messages, Keep them in the dark about their souls . Keep them content with a coffee cup, a smile and a soothing message of peace and comfort.

1 Thes 5: 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape

In the end it is going to cost a lot of people far more than just a coffee cup as a reminder.

Jer 17: 5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD

2Cr 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

Yet is this the confession of the Word of Faith teachers?

We (the church) are Christ. (Kenneth Hagin, As Christ is — So are we, Tape #44H06)

The Christian “is as much an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth.” (Kenneth Hagin, “The Incarnation,” THE WORD OF FAITH (Dec. 1980), 14.)

“Man is a spirit who possesses a soul and lives in a body…., He is in the same class with God. …We know that God is a Spirit. And yet [He] took upon Himself a man’s body….when God took upon Himself human form, He was no less God than when He didn’t have a body. Man, at physical death, leaves his as he was when he had his body.” (Kenneth Hagin, Man of Three Dimensions [Tulsa: Faith Library, 1973]

“[Man] was created on terms of equality with God, and he could stand in God’s presence without any consciousness of inferiority…God made us as much like Himself as possible…He made us the same class of being that He is Himself…Man lived in the realm of God. He lived on terms equal with God…[The] believer is called Christ…That’s who we are; we’re Christ” (Kenneth Hagin, Zoe: The God-Kind of Life, 1989. pp. 35-36, 41)

One of the major problems that word of faith believers have to cope with is the need to keep trying to reassure themselves that they are gods.. That means having to try to live up to an elevated level of a god. Whose heights are so high, and the air so thin that they almost fall over with the sheer magnitude of their boasting.

Now to be fed a daily dose like the above teachings that one can be in the very same class as God. He can do what God does; speak as God does, use the same faith as God does, Create as God does. God himself is more like us. It all becomes a heavy opium of positive emotions that few can resist, a positivity that is centered around oneself and specifically on ones confession. But the need to keep bolstering this image has to be a daily battle.

In The Force of Love, another sermon tape, Kenneth Copeland states, “You don’t have a god in you, you are one.“

Earl Paulk of the Harvester Church in Atlanta, Georgia, in his work, Satan Unmasked, explains it like this: “Adam and Eve were placed in the world as the seed and expression of God. Just as dogs have puppies and cats have kittens, so God has little gods; we have trouble comprehending this truth. Until we comprehend that we are little gods, we cannot manifest the kingdom of God” (p. 97).

Cats and dogs may reproduce, but God did not copulate in order to create man. Such foolishness is astounding.

In his book Agony of Deceit, Michael Horton has documented Kenneth Copeland in a 19 July 1987 crusade as saying, “I say this and repeat it so it don’t upset you too bad. When I read in the Bible where He (Jesus ) says, I AM, I say, Yes, I am too!” (p. 268). In John 8:58, I AM is a self proclamation of Jesus own unique Deity from Exodus 3:14, 15.

Few however realize the sheer magnitude and consequences to such teaching, never mind the effect it has on people’s minds. These teachers then live on a constant high that leads them to believe that they have something the rest of us poor lowly creatures don’t. They become full of stinking pride that’s boasts in their position and revelation. If you cant see your own godhead tough luck. They have ascended the height and now dwell in the place of the most high. They have arrived at a revelation where even God himself must submit to their confessions. Their confessions become God. It rules over their universes and they are the gods within that universe. They then have to see themselves as RICH HEALTHY PROSPEROUS and SUCCESSFUL. Never mind the fact that they could be BROKE ILL and anything BUT PROSPEROUS. It does not matter, mind over matter; confession over reality; What they speak forth must become reality.

Living in a world they think has to bow to their confessions. Pride overwhelms them and they can’t be told. That would be embracing a negative confession. The battlefield becomes an issue of negative over the positive. They don’t see that the real issue is truth and error. Sometimes truth can be negative and error seen as positive. That does not matter, being equal to God does. They are towering above the rest of humanity and God help anyone who does not see the world as they do.

Rev 3: 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

They boasted a positive confession but the reality was so very different.

Scripture reveals their true reality: POOR WRETCHED AND BLIND.

Rev 3: 18-19 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

How many of these prosperity teachers would relate such negative statements as this apostle has?. It was not in their confession or even in their goods, but in their relationship with God. You can be poor materially but still be rich in the things of God,

1 Cor 4: 11-13 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place. And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, [and are] the off scouring of all things unto this day.

Can we see any of the Word of faith teachers today relate to such a testimony? It’s hard to see oneself as a god when one is poor, imprisoned hungry and thirsty.

In the end if they take their confession to its obvious conclusions they are left with a superstitious belief where a negative confession has to be immediately replaced by a positive one. As the tongue is such an unruly member a confession blurted out in the heat of the moment is still a confession. Negative confessions may bring sickness and even death. But a positive one will acquire for them all that THEY WANT. It is not a matter of surrendering one’s life to God but that creation has to surrender to them. The focus becomes self rather than God.

In the end fear becomes the solitary agreement that a negative confession might lead them to their undoing. So they are forever watching what they say lest the power in their tongues brings them to their own destruction.

God has made it clear HE WILL NOT SHARE HIS GLORY WITH ANOTHER.

He stands unique and alone as the ONE TRUE GOD. He will have no rivals, no competition. Kingdoms may come and go, but his will stand forever. Men will live and die but he cannot. Men can boast of their achievements but God alone brings all his plans to success. A life is but for a moment But God alone is immortal and eternal. Men may place their faith in themselves but the arm of the flesh will fail them.

Humility is the enemy of such teachers. The stark reminder that our faith must forever rest in Gods will. It is not in the heavy heights we find God but on our knees in humility and the realization that we cannot, but he can. The stark reality not my will be done but his.

James 4: 10 humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up

It does not say lift yourself up!!!!

Here is an interesting quote from another article that I had to quote from. I cannot underestimate the dangers of this philosophy. It’s well worth reading the whole article to capture what the writer sharing.

“Faith in Doctrines of Demons (1 Timothy 4:1-5) leads to Fear and Death!
Guilt is generally brought about by the tension generated when one was positively confessing but getting no results. According to the Word-Faith position, no results equals lack of faith or open sin in one’s life. This can, and usually does, cause excessive introspection and a tremendous guilt feelings. Sometimes the guilt is real and needs to be dealt with, but often there is no reason for the feelings. Whatever the person was positively confessing was not in God’s plan and He is not going to bring it about.

Fear comes from two areas. First is the obsessive compulsion to be positive in every word. Even using phrases such as “I’m just dying to do that” or “that joke just tickled me to death,” release satanic powers, say the Word-Faith teachers (The Tongue – A Creative Force, p. 90-92). People become afraid that they are going to slip up, utter a negative word, and give a place to Satan. Secondly, fear is a corollary to the guilt mentioned above. Fear and guilt usually work in a downward spiral. One feels guilty because of supposed lack of faith, then afraid because the confession is not “working.” Then there is more guilt, then more fear, and so on down into further despair. This cycle can be extremely spiritually and physically debilitating. All of these spiritual and psychological difficulties can be directly attributed to elevating man to the false position of being a god and saying that he has powers far greater than he really does.” Source http://watchmanforjesus.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/truth-and-danger-about-word-faith.html

The writer is absolutely correct in his observation.

One more recent worshiper of the faith teachings had this to say :

God had become a man,and ceases to be God. Jesus was a man,and the Bible says that God became a man and ceases to become God, for He,who is God left His powers and set aside His status and Being as God. Jesus was 100% human.

The ramification is that if God ceased to be God then he is no longer God. Gods immutability is called into question. Yet at the same time the Word of faith teaches exalt themselves as gods, elevating man whilst denigrating God. They blur the distinction between the two. However history has always shown that men who come to proclaim their own deity begin to come under the judgement of God. Pharaoh and even the emperor of Rome were often smitten with such delusions and we know how they ended up.

Jer 17: 5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD

When men place their faith in their faith rather than in the God of their faith they are destined to fail. Man can no more save himself by their confessions than raise the titanic in its original condition. It’s not a matter of not seeing the truth but their pride stops them wanting to see the truth.

Some have tried to take this teaching to its obvious conclusion and suffered humiliation and defeat. Nor was it a lack of faith in their part. It was only where they tried to place their faith that was the problem. Their stubbornness and unwillingness to see that the fruit was rotten led to countless sufferings and death.

The name of DR HOBART FREEMAN will live on in infamy. He was a Word of Faith teacher & pastor of Faith Assembly – over 90 people died in his church following his teaching and then Hobart died due to a medically treatable disease.

Many of those who came out of this experience have been emotionally traumatized..

THE EVENTUAL REALIZATION THAT WHAT THEY CONFESS THEY DON’T POSSESS!!!

We have seen enough evidence to conclude that the Word-Faith message is a dangerous soul-destroying heresy that simply does not work. It is a body of presumptuous teachings that lacks the authority of the Word of God. It is a system of thinking that has been generated by a group of men drawing from each others teachings with an amalgamation of Christian theology, mysticism and Gnosticism bound together by one of the most fanciful methods of Scripture interpretation ever devised. All of this is buttressed by a mutual admiration society among the most popular of the Word-Faith teachers that admonishes critics to “touch not the Lord’s anointed,” often under dire threats of divine displeasure.

The Watchman Ministry has coined this heresy very well, because it is SOUL DESTROYING.

If you want to read some testimonies by people who have come out of this teaching press

One of the major deceptions which Roman Catholics fall into is the belief in the mass, a perpetual crucifixion of Christ that never ends.  When you look at a Catholic cross they always depict Jesus hanging upon it, and this is because that is where they see him.  For them he can never come down from that place of suffering.  A perpetual reminder of the agony at the hands of men.  Satan has no problem with a suffering saviour so long as he remains a suffering saviour.  The difference between the Roman Catholic and the Christian is the reality of what took place afterwards.

Jesus did not remain on the cross.  He was taken down buried and after three days rose from the grave with triumph and glory.  Now it is important because what took place on the cross was only part of a greater whole.  Physiologically to stay at one point without moving on means that salvation for them is incomplete.  Its like counting down to launching a rocket that never gets launch.  You just keep counting and the rocket never leaves the launch pad.  The flight is incomplete.  It does not matter if the crowd cheers, and  the papers prints the headlines.  The rocket is still on the launch pad.  So for the Catholic Christ still hangs on that cross.  The price for mans sin is still being paid for. The victory that should be entered into is never realised.

When Jesus declared that it is FINISHED.  The work he did was complete finished accomplished.  There is no need for a perpetual sacrifice or even a continual sacrifice; the hearts of those who weep at his sufferings soon turn to ecstatic joy that he had risen.  But for the Catholic there is a continual weeping because Jesus remains at the point of suffering.   Only by the reality that he came down can one come to the realisation that Victory had been won.  Sin had been dealt with; Satan had been defeated; Prisoners can be set free; Hope is born within the hearts of all who believe in him;  We poor sinner go through the cross, resurrected with Christ into the newness of life.

Rom 6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his deathTherefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

If there is no resurrection then we are still in our sins.

Now as long as you have men and women focused on the suffering of the cross, they are unlikely to move on from the cross.  The door is wide open; God himself beckons them to enter and enjoy his company.  But they stand refusing to enter because they cannot see beyond what their priests and their hellish dogma keeps them.    They are reminded of his sufferings but never of the victory.  They are reminded of the battle, but never the reality that it has been won.  They keep going over and over the struggle, but never see the peace.    They are prisoners to a physiology of status.  For that very reason they will pray to a saint, to Mary or whoever, because they feel they need for another who has made it to intercede on their behalf.    But there is Jesus himself willing to do that Job.  But then if he is still at that place of suffering how can they see him standing to intercede on their behalf.  For that he had to come down from the cross to do so.  That is something their church refuses to acknowledge.

When you point this out they will say they accept what the Bible teaches, yet physiologically they are still unable to enter in.  Their own institution on the pain of anathema keeps them stuck at one point in time.  Unable to enter into the fullness of what God promises.    The cake is there to eat but they will not eat.  The countdown has finished but there is no launch.  The battle has been well and truly won, but they cannot see it.  For them to enter into the fullness is to endure the wrath of the Catholic Church, the displeasure of the priests and the curses of their popes.    The saddest part of this is whilst the Christian Church stands and a cry out that he is risen, the catholic cannot comprehend the meaning of this.  For a resurrection means no more suffering on Jesus part.  Maybe that has always been the issue looking beyond the cross.  For Movie makers alike it all focuses on the suffering, with a two sec spot afterwards for the resurrection. Yet the resurrection is as vital as the cross. For with the resurrection it herals that death had been conquered and the grave defeated.  With the resurrection the sufferings of the cross is over.  Resurrection is the materialisation that salvation is now realisation.

Phil 3: 9-10 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

You cant have one without the other.  Jesus death and resurection becomes the reality that saves us.

The main issue of the mass is that it keeps the Catholic tied to the skirts of their priests who deems who can and cannot partake.  So obedience to a priest becomes absolute.    The cycle of despair and darkness needs to be broken and these poor people are allowed to enter into the light of day and into the joy of the resurrection.  It is heartbreaking to see hearts that cannot and will not enter.  The invitations have been sent out but they refuse to attend.  The banquet is set but they refuse to come.  God himself has written the invitations but they don’t believe it.  The joy that would welcome them is indescribable and yet they choose sackcloth’s and ashes.  The peace that is glorious and yet they choose despair.  The struggle has ended but they continue to labour.

Until they are prepared to move on from the sufferings, allow Jesus to die and realise the resurrection.  As Christians we are continually being impressed upon by God spirit of the triumph of the cross, the defeat of the grave, the assurance of eternal life.  The fullness of the glory which is to come.  We see the lights of home and press onwards and upwards.

There is a way that seemeth right but it is the way of death.

Outwardly Islam and Catholicism appear to be vastly different religions, however in reality they are both inspired by the same spirit.  Both hold to a religious and a political agenda.  Both have persecuted Christians over the centuries.  Both hold up cities Mecca and Rome as the centre of respective devotions.  Neither of which are mentioned as such in the Bible, if any both cities were centres of pagan worship.  Both hold to prayer beads and holy water as a means cleansing.  Both have been knows to use means of self harm as a means of mortification.  Both have a variety of expressions within their respective  religions, and yet both  look to individual men as the source of their inspiration.  The pope in one and Muhammad in the other. When in weakness both claim to be peaceful and ecumenical, However when in prominence will establish their own version of sharia law and will have no hesitance in imposing it upon all.  Both have used violence to push their agenda.  Both boast of the final victory of their religion against Biblical based Christianity.  The Christian always points to Jesus, whilst both Islam and Catholicism will point to a religion, an institution and everything but Christ.  For the Christian the Bible is the final authority on any matter of faith life and doctrine.  Catholics however will hold up their traditions which inevitable circumvent the very scripture that would give them light. Both give a fleeting gesture of believing in the Bible, However in reality deny it.  Both use the cloak of religion to mask their ungodliness.  Paganism is accepted and mixed in with it.  Whilst Moslems will circle the hajj and kiss the black stone in pilgrimage, so Catholics will make pilgrimages to sites of Mariology and kiss her idols.

Both it appears have a fascination with Mary, although unlike Islam Catholics will worship her as a queen of heaven.  However both recognised Mary as a women blessed “above all women”, rather as the scriptures says from “among women”.

Both have a devotion to a finite creature, Mary in Catholicism and Muhammad in Islam.  Neither can see past their idols.  Both accept these finite creatures as the perfect example to humanity, and when scripture and History shows otherwise they choose to reject historical and Biblical truths.  Whilst both reject that they actually offer such worship, both in practice and reality they most certainly do.

Both have priests that issued anathemas and fatwas at all who would disagree with their views.  Both are steeped in a works mentality of good works which they hope will tip the scales on the last day in their favour.  Both have a form of purgatory, for the Moslems it’s a life in the grave and for Catholics a period of continuing punishment in a place of suffering.

When faced with the open invitation to approach God openly and freely, both inevitably will seek means far removed from God.   Both are steeped in rituals and methods which the Bible never mentions.

Both have boasted that their writings can only be truly understood in a language which few can read.  For years Catholicism tried to keep the Bible written in Latin which even the priest could barely understand.   Many Catholics simply do not know Biblical history, which saw papal decrees on the burning of those who did translate the Latin into the common language.

Both like to claim that they were the light of civilisation, or as one Catholic recently boasted that the Bible was given to humanity by the Catholic Church.  Yet he forgot that the Old Testament was written and kept for hundred of years prior to the existence of the Catholic Church, and recognised as scripture even in the times of the apostles.  The Catholics look to their church as the author and interpreter of scripture, the Christian however looks to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

For the Moslem Jesus is demeaned as a mere failed prophet, and in Catholicism Jesus is reduced even further to a cookie which men eat.  Neither have a true relationship with Jesus.    When Offered a crown by God both are too busy looking elsewhere to accept it.  The saddest reality is that both are comforted in their religion, their sins are excused in their penances, kept in the dark concerning their real condition.  Whose trust is off men rather than that of God.  However unlike Islam Catholics are tied to the priests either though confession and penance or the need for their priests to magic Jesus into a cookie.  No cookie no Jesus.  Which is why the priests have such a hold over their congregations.

The indiginous coptic minority in Egypt are coming under increasing genocidal antics by Moslem.  Some have been redused to living among the garbage.  Has anyone seen any of this in the local newspapers?  where the outcry among our leaders? Oh the  newspapers reported the news about the overthrow of the Egyptian government.  But where is the cry that a miniority christian group might soon become extinct.  Remember that these are real people, with real lives.

If this video does not move you I dont know what will.   PRAY that God will move in this situation.

Math 6: 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

UC Ministries: Just because a man can stand in a pulpit does not mean he is the genuine article. A change life does not involve swindling or involving his family in crooked dealings. The terrible aspect in the following article is that as Christians we are often too trusting.  The growing failure off ministers across our pulpits has become an ever increasing sorry tale.  The growing lack of a genuine accountability has seen many become masters of their own pulpits, accountable to no one, and rejecting any and all accountability.  The results in this case has been devastating both for this family and the flock that had become an integrated part of his ministry.   Then we wonder why Christianity has become the butt of comedians

Isaac William appeared to be the perfect charitable preacher at St Nicholas Church in Tooting, but he was actually behind a £2.6m tax fraud

To his congregation, he was an inspirational Christian pastor who had dedicated his life to raising money for the poor, homeless and sick.

Isaac William, 61, his wife Venus, 54, and their three daughters appeared to be the very model of Christian charity, funding housing, hospitals and education in Pakistan.

But in reality, the preacher at St Nicholas Church in Tooting, South London was swindling taxpayers out of £2.6million in a tax fraud to pay for a million-pound property empire in Britain and abroad.

The ‘crooked’ businessman who ran a security guard company, made profits of over £6million exploiting illegal immigrants who were forced to work around the clock on a pittance and live in cramped caravans and huts sleeping on the floor.

To avoid paying VAT, income tax and national insurance, William hid the profits into a number of bank accounts including his charity account named ‘The Great Commission Evangelical Fellowship’.

But the money was then withdrawn in cash and laundered by his wife and daughters, Sylvia, 34,  who worked for Lloyds Bank, Maria Gunasekara, 33, a business manager for Barclays and their younger sister Sophie, 26, a law graduate.

The family used the cash to build an impressive property portfolio which included eight homes in London, Surrey, Hounslow and Walsall and two holiday homes in Pakistan.

The father of six also splashed out on luxury sports cars and frequent trips to Dubai and Pakistan.

But the authorities became suspicious when a van belonging to William was stopped by police who found a gang of illegal foreign workers.

An investigation by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs revealed he had failed to declare £5million in profits and owed £1.1million in VAT, national insurance and tax between 1998 and 2008, which added up to £2.6million in lost interest to the taxpayer.

His wife and daughters – two of whom had been trained in money laundering as part of their work – laundered £1.3million of the profits, wiring the cash to accounts in Dubai and Pakistan.

Maria Gunasekara (left) and Sylvia William (right) both worked for banks where they picked up the skills to launder money by wiring £1.3million to bank accounts in Dubai and Pakistan

Now William has been jailed for four years after admitting ten counts of cheating the public revenue at Kingston Crown Court.

Judge Susan Tapping said the ‘crooked’ businessman ran a ‘dishonest and exploitative business.’

She told him: ‘Your working practices were dubious and exploitative and you used people who had no right to be here.’

She added: ‘The worst part was to use his wife and daughters to launder money. They wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. It helped his family to begin to own their own homes.

‘He may well have used this money for charity but most of this was sent abroad.’

The court heard that the pastor born in Karachi, Pakistan came to Britain in 1989 on a six month visa to do a Christian studies course at Spurgeon’s College, London, but he overstayed his visa and was not given leave to remain here until 2000.

Paul Brogan QC, defending, said William had set up a scout movement in Karachi, but ‘it was charitable work at the expense of the British taxpayer.’

He said: ‘The business was ran with virtually no records being kept and he ignored his responsibilities, not only to keep records but to account for his profits and he accepts that over the years he declared little and failed to pay the taxes on his profits.

When the William family was put on trial there were protests in Pakistan where people claimed he was an innocent pastor

‘He also accepts that his family enjoyed considerable financial benefit.

‘Throughout this time he continued to support the scout movement and help people in the local community. He also set up medical centres in Karachi and a maternity hospital.

‘It was charitable work at the expense of the British taxpayer.’

But HMRC investigators were unable to find any evidence that the money in his charity account reached the Karachi Scout movement.

The Rev Noel Mclean, a pastor of the Yahweh Christian Fellowship in Tooting and chaplain for the Metropolitan Police, told the court he had witnessed William’s work in Pakistan.

He said: ‘I was taken to areas where he had helped in the building of homes and hospitals and schools. It seemed to be quite extensive.

‘People would not stop talking about him. He was held in high esteem. They spoke of how many lives had been transformed by his giving.’

In October his wife and daughters were found guilty of money laundering after a six week trial. Last Friday his wife, Venus was sentenced to 16 months in jail.

St Thomas Church in Tooting, South London, were Isaac William was a preacher and charity fundraiser

His daughter Maria, was given a 12 month suspended sentence. Sylvia, received a 10 month suspended sentence and Sophia got an eight month suspended term. They were also given 100 hours of unpaid work.

Simon De Kayne, Assistant Director of Criminal Investigation for HMRC, said: ‘Isaac William failed to declare his company’s income or pay taxes of £1.1m from his business activities.

‘The amount he owes now stands at £2.6m including interest. His wife and daughters then continued the web of deceit by laundering over £1.3m through their personal bank accounts.

‘Their criminal activities ensured they were able to fund luxury lifestyles and further increase their wealth at the expense of the taxpayer.’

Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, David Gauke added: ‘This Government will not tolerate dishonest people stealing public money. This sentence shows that those who try to commit fraud need to think again – HMRC will find you and the courts will punish you.’

Andrew Biker, Senior Prosecution Lawyer for the Crown Prosecution Service’s Central Fraud Group, said: ‘For over a decade, Isaac William defrauded the public purse with the knowledge and assistance of his wife and family.

‘Not only did he exploit the public purse, he also exploited his employees, many of whom were illegal foreign nationals.’

Is it possible that we have forgotten the man who once rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, suffered rejection, the indignity of a mock trial, the humiliation of a public crucifixion?  The one who had no where to sleep has now been surpassed by a gospel that demands wealth, popularity and fame. Have we come to that inspiring place where we think it’s odd if a minister does not have such aspirations?   Have we become so gullible to the fraudsters that see the pulpit not as a road of humility but as a   advancement to self interests?
