1 Cor 1: 22-23  For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishnessThe-Weakness-of-the-Cross-3_24_31-608x430

1 Cor 1: 24-29 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. ……But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Why did God do what he did through the suffering of one man on a Roman Cross?

In this world Might and achievement is reckoned by the force of ones armies and the willingness to die for a cause.  For some it is in striving for great riches and wealth. In Islam those who die in Jihad are honoured with immediate paradise whilst those who don’t get to live in a conscious existence in the grave.  For others heroism and bravery is commended and cowardness is disgraces.  Bravery above weakness.  Yet God in his wisdom cuts through all this, and through weakness achieves the impossible.  He brought salvation to mankind.

The scriptures say that Gods foolishness is still wiser and his weakness stronger.

  • Now if salvation could be achieved through wisdom and intellect, then only the wise would get in and the foolish and uneducated would not.
  • If Salvation was based on strength and valour then the weak would be at a disadvantage.
  • If salvation would be found among the healthy, then the sick would loose out.
  • If salvation could be found among the rich, the poor would loose out.
  • If salvation was achieved through works, then only those with the strength of ones might be able to achieve salvation, and those who don’t loose out.
  • If salvation was based upon my goodness, then the bad have no chance.

Sadly for many in their pride are unwilling to humble themselves, they still cling to the notion that might is right.  They clamber in the belief that their efforts will be recognised and earn a reward called salvation, But its all dross and futility.

They battle strive and struggle in the belief that there are points to be mad,e and their salvation is earned as a reward. For many they can climb upon their intellect, look down upon those who don’t, and boast in their pride  believe they have made the grade whilst others cannot.

God however cut through all this red tape and made salvation infinitely simpler.  As Paul said to his jailer, whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.  Faith as simple as trusting is all that is needed.  It does not matter if you are rich poor brave a coward, Healthy or sick.  God made the playing field equal.  Whoever comes will be saved.

You see Gods way strips me of my boasting.  I have nothing that I can hold onto that says I am better that that other person.  I have nothing that says I have earned my place along side God best.    In fact I am totally disarmed.  All my wisdom, intellect, treasures, gifting , pride, and even my  strength is laid bare before him.  As Paul said he counted it all but dross.  Even in my weakness there is still no pride because one in his weakness he chooses to endure the cross in weakness.  All I can do is look and live.  All I can do is fall down and cry out for mercy.  All I can do is place myself into the hands of the one who died and rose from the tomb.  Throw away any confidence in me and place all my confidence in him.

Gal 2: 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me

Its not my might but his.  Its not my goodness but his,  its not my bravery by his,  its not by my riches by his infinite riches.  It is not even by my love , but because he loved me before I knew there was a love to be loved by.

Rom 5: 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.In the end Jesus did not die just for his friends, but  for his…… ENEMIES!

Is Faith nothing more than a positive attitude?   This quote comes from Facebook, a comment someone I know put up on their Facebook.

This is what John Hagee teaches.

John Hagee Ministries · he received 321,383 like for this statement

John Hagee

John Hagee

FAITH IS HAVING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO AND NOT WORRYING AT ALL ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN’T DO. (emphasis mine)

It seems despite almost 60 responses to this comment.  The majority bar one agreed with him.  A sad state when the church has absolutely no idea what FAITH is and what it is not.   Here is one quote from a women who definitely had no idea.

W.R.FloresWow! It doesn’t get more clearer than that! Thank you, Pastor!!

I have to admit I just cannot commend this woman for her response, and she was just one of almost 60 people.  Many of which said “Amen” to John Hagee statement

Now out of those 60 just one man responded Biblically and honestly.

FarrierI hate to disagree…and its a first on this page, but No, I’m sorry pastor, FAITH is not merely maintaing a positive attitude despite your limitations, FAITH is having FULL confidence in God to do all things through you and not worrying about the need for your individual effort, or questioning God’s timing by your definition of results.”

I stand to commend and applaud that at least one person was willing and able to define the truth on Biblical Faith.  What makes this so serious is that merely having a positive attitude cannot keep you from Hell but faith in God will.

Notice how many LIKES he got for that comment.  Is that 321, 363 potential souls on their way to a lost eternity and only ONE gave the right response.  How many will follow this man who is on record as rejecting Christ as the messiah is anyone’s guess.  But personally this is serious stuff.  When the people who call themselves Christians can no longer define what Biblical faith is , we know we have a problem today.

Ps 119: 105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a lightunto my path

The light had dawned.

Years ago when I was a teenager the Gideons came to my school.  During assembly they gave a quick talk and handed out these little red cover backed King James New Testament Bibles.  Whilst many of the kids joked about burning them, I found in my hand something which I treasured.    Now I was not a Christian at that time, but I would from time to time read the word.  But whilst I could read the words I never really understood the message.  Years later I started work.  The production manager was a Christian who would chat to his staff about Christianity.  This prompted me to take out that little King James and occasionally  I read it.  Now I could read the words, but the message was as ever hidden as it had always been.  The mystery of its message was lost.  It remained just another book.  Now this Christian invited me to his church.  I knew what was going to be asked and I talked it over with the Lord the night before.  I was going to say YES to receive him as Lord and saviour.    I remember that the previous day reading my Bible and the message was only darkness to my understanding.

The day after having received Jesus as Lord and saviour, I opened that same little King James Bible.  Something had dramatically changed.  Suddenly the words became alive.  They literally jumped out of the page with meaning and understanding.  So what had changed from one day to the next?  There can be no doubt that I had indeed received God into my life.    I still had to read the Bible and study it, but the insight was illuminating.  Someone was now interpreting that word to my heart and mind.  No longer was I looking at mere words, the words now had meaning depth and life.

It was as if someone had literally walked into a dark room and flicked the switched.  The room became bathed in light.    The Holy Spirit brought that light into my soul and was now feeding my mind with the truths contained in the Bible.  From there God started to make all those little connection between all those chapters.  The Bible works folks.    It makes sense from cover to cover.   Now you can never say you know it all because that same Holy Spirit is still revealing his word.   But I can say that what I hold in my hand was treasure indeed.

UC MINISTRIES: Warren seems to be back in the news again.  The subject is his support for CHRISLAM.  This has been one debate that simply refuses to go away.  It seems when ever its gets too hot in the Kitchen, Warren comes out with a denial that he was ever in the kitchen.  Trying to pin him down on issues that inevitable blow up in his face is becoming laughable.  He in turn is becoming slimier than an eel to hold down.  CHRISLAM is you are not sure of what it means is a growing movement that tries to find common INTERFAITH dialogue between Christian and Moslems.

Proponents for and against might help explain this topic:

We are brothers, We are a family of God. Not one of us is better than the other in His eyes. He loves us both. The future can only be won against the “Evil one” by all of us standing strong together.” Malcom X

“Dozens of churches, from Park Hill Congregational in Denver to Hillview United Methodist in Boise, Idaho, and First United Lutheran in San Francisco to St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Honolulu, are planning to send ‘a message both here at home and to the Arab and Muslim world about our respect for Islam’ with a time to read the Quran during worship this Sunday.” June 24, 2011 article from World Net Daily

Van Impe named California megachurch founders Rick Warren and Robert H. Schuller as proponents of “Chrislam,” which he defined as “a uniting of Christianity with Islam.” TBN pulled the episode before a repeat broadcast could air.

Michigan-based ,Ministries said its board of directors decided unanimously Thursday (June 17) to no longer work with TBN.

“We would not be able to minister effectively if we had to look over our shoulder wondering if a program was going to be censored because of mentioning a name,” said Ken Vancil, executive director of the ministry, in a statement.

TBN president and founder Paul Crouch expressed disappointment with the ministry’s decision. “Although I understand, and actually agree with, your position that you ‘will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach,’ I trust you understand that TBN takes the same position with its broadcast air time as well,” Crouch wrote in a letter to Van Impe.

Van Impe’s program cited Warren’s speech to an Islamic conference in Washington in 2009 and Schuller’s keynote address at an interfaith conference called “A Common Word” in 2008. Van Impe and his co-host wife, Rexella, also claimed Warren said churches can attract new believers by taking crosses down from inside and outside their buildings.

In a June 8 tweet, Warren said just the opposite: “If you remove the cross from the church, it’s no longer the church. Just a social club.”  Christianity today 2011

Christian-Muslim Consultative Group. (CMCG) “Beginning in 2008, the members of The CMCG developed the concept for Standing Together in response to a collective realization that there did not appear to be any study guides on Islam and Christianity that were developed by teams of Christians and Muslims working in partnership on the same materials.  In this sense, Standing Together represents a unique collaboration that reveals the richness and vibrancy of these faith traditions and teachings.  The goals of Standing Together are to:

1. To bring Muslim and Christian neighbors together to come to know one another as people and break down the dehumanizing stereotypes that keep us apart and fearful of one another. We live in the same neighborhoods; our kids go to school together; we see each other in the supermarket. However, we often don’t know each other very well, if at all, since it is rare for Christians and Muslims in the United States to socialize formally or informally. With Standing Together, the members of The CMCG hope to bridge relationships and communities together.

2. To create opportunities for faithful Muslims and Christians to engage with one another about beliefs and practices. Of course, it is always possible to pick up a book or watch a television program and get some of the same information; but with Standing Together, face-to-face interactions develop a deeper, first-hand knowledge of the ways in which our faith traditions are both similar and distinctive. Furthermore, in the process of this dialogue, you will clarify your knowledge about your own beliefs and traditions.

3. To lay the foundation for possible future projects that your group might choose to do together to enhance the well-being of all your members and communities. The members of The CMCG have found ways to partner on many projects of common interest beyond the original intent of the organization, and share fellowship with one another as our bonds of friendship deepen. It is our prayer that your dialogue group will also experience the abundance of more profound relationships together.

It is also important to clarify what Standing Together is not.  It is not an opportunity to try to convert one another.  As you talk about your own faith tradition, speak from your experience and knowledge, and in a way that honors the experience and knowledge of all the members of your group.  Come to the dialogue assuming that you will disagree on some matters, but open to hearing the perspective of the other side.  Listen for the unexpected ways in which you may be more alike than different.  Be renewed in your understanding of what makes you who you are and in  “     (Christian-Muslim Consultative Group. Eph 5:11 And  have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].

The one thing that stands out in the CMCG web site for interfaith dialogue is the rejection of any attempt to win Moslems to Christ.  But where does it say in scripture that we should avoid winning anyone to Christ. They simply do not have the authority to determine such doctrines.  If a lost eternity is what lies ahead for Moslems then sharing the good news with them is vitally important.

To partnership on the basis that the God of the Bible and the god of Islam are one and the same is just nonsense. Any close study shows that allah has an altogether different nature from the God of the Bible.  The only similarities is that allah means god in Arabic However that same term has been used of many from Pagan idols such Baal, Ashtoreth and even man has been referred to as being gods. Just because the Bible Acknowledges such facts does not mean Gods approves of them as being bona fide gods with all the qualities that are associated with GOD, The Bible however has made his names known, His nature and his will through the Scriptures and to the people of Israel.  Whilst similarities are suggested between the Bible and the Koran, within context the differences are vast.  Like any great forger you always borrow material from the original to give the appearance that something is original.  So the Koran borrowed sources both from Scripture and as well as fairy stories myths and in some cases just outright fantasies of that period.  Like the one about the sun found setting down in a muddy pool of water whilst the locals sat around and no doubt enjoyed the sight.  (Koran 18: 86)

This has not been the first time that Warren has been caught out telling fibs.  Originally a keen supporter of Proposition 8 and there is a video on Youtube where he is seen encouraging people to come out in support of it.

Proposition 8

Proposition 8 (ballot title: Eliminates Rights of Same-Sex Couples to Marry. Initiative Constitutional Amendment; called California Marriage Protection Act by proponents) was a ballot proposition and constitutional amendment passed in the November 2008 state elections. The measure added a new provision, Section 7.5 of the Declaration of Rights, to the California Constitution, which provides that “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California

However when his church started to be picketed by various homosexual groups he did one of his famous U turns and was seen denying ever having anything to do with Proposition 8.

This is what the article had to say:

Newspaper catches Rick Warren fibbing?  Says Saddleback confirmed its report on ‘Chrislam’ accurate

When an Orange County Register article about Rev. Rick Warren of Saddleback Church’s mission to heal differences between evangelical Christians and Muslims was published, some of the pastor’s critics saw it as more evidence of a blurry vision of “Chrislam,” a blending of Christianity and Islam, despite his repeated denials.

The Feb. 23 article cited Saddleback documents that see similarities between Christianity and Islam. One co-authored by Jihad Turk of the Christian-Muslim Consultative Group in Los Angeles and Abraham Meulenberg, pastor of Interfaith Outreach at Saddleback claims the two religions “worship the same God.”

While many supporters of Warren insist that claims in the article are false, the Register reporter and an editor at the paper told WND that Saddleback Church leadership confirmed that the article was “factually accurate.”

“Folks at Saddleback initially made but then withdrew a request for a clarification to the story’s first paragraph,” reporter Jim Hinch told WND in an email.

“Instead of the words ‘Muslims and Christians worship the same God’ they wanted the story to read ‘Muslims and Christians believe that God is one.’ The rest of the story, they said, is factually accurate.”

WND calls and emails to Warren were not returned.

Despite his staff’s acknowledgement to the Register that the article is factually accurate, Warren denied claims in the article by pointing the finger at the reporter for “getting it wrong.”

“This is an example of why I always doubt what I read in newspapers and blogs about ministries,” Warren said in a statement sent to church members.

After the Register article was published, Warren issued a statement through a Christian Post reporter in an interview format.

Warren said, “A few days ago, an article appeared in the Orange County Register that included some outrageous statements about Saddleback that were incorrect.

“Of course, the media rarely gets everything right, and there’s no way we could respond to every false statement made about us. But I felt this article created so many misperceptions that I agreed to do an interview in response.”

The interviewer also asked Warren if people of other religions worship the same God as Christians, to which Warren replied, “Of course not. Christians have a God that is unique.”

Steve McConkey, of bigworldwatch.com, a news gathering site, said of Warren’s response to the article: “A person should not say one thing one time and another thing later and then blame the reporter.

“The problem that we have is that he has a case of doublespeak. Warren denies the Orange County Register article’s contents, but the document he signed ‘A Common Word Between Us and You’ says differently,” said McConkey.

McConkey was referring to a much publicized 2007 document signed by Warren, among many other Christian leaders. Within the first few lines it says that “many Christians have been guilty of sinning against our Muslim neighbors.”

“Before we ‘shake your hand’ in responding to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world,” the document states.

The lengthy document then outlines how both Muslims and Christians serve “one God” and makes an argument that the two are one in the same, much like the “King’s Way” document unveiled in December at Saddleback Church.

It is that perspective that some Christians have called “Chrislam.”

Saddleback and Warren declined numerous WND attempts to speak about the issue. But in the Christian Post, he responded.

The publication asked, “Are you promoting Chrislam?”

“Of course not. It’s the lie that won’t die,” he said.

Yet his staff has acknowledged the Register article is correct, he had a role in the “King’s Way” document and he signed “Common Word.”

The Register story mentions that both Turk and Gwynn Guibord serve an organization called Christian-Muslim Consultative Group. (CMCG)

WND reached Guibord regarding her interview with Hinch. In the interview she states that her group has avoided inviting evangelical churches to join their endeavor to “foster relationships between churches and mosques” but is now changing that opinion because “Saddleback’s effort is unprecedented.

 Compromise is definitely OUT!!!

Whilst Rick Warren is someone I simply would not trust going by past statements.  The reality of CHRISLAM is one that will not go away, even if it is proven or not that Warren was back in the kitchen promoting another fallacy and doctrinal heresy.  The Reality is that Chrislam exists.   However in the light of growing persecution of Christians by Islamic extremist who hold to a book that promotes terrorism.  To a religion whose very history has seen weaves of invasions cross the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the Far East, it simply cannot be trusted.

Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right or to the left. That ye come not among these nations that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them. But cleave unto the Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day” [Joshua 23:7-8]…

“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity… And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve… If ye forsake the Lord and serve strange gods then he will turn and do you hurt… Now therefore put away said he the strange gods which are among you and incline your heart unto the Lord God of Israel” [Joshua 24: 1-23].

The reality is that we are not at liberty to join with any false worship.  Nor give way for one second to false teachings.  We are not called to dialogue as brothers in arms with those who have confessed to another god and another gospel. Whatever is the truth of the matter concerning Rick Warren and Chrislam.  Chrislam is an unbiblical compromise that cannot be blessed by Gods.

Who hold in their hands a book that will promote terrorism against Jews and Christian in the name of their prophet.

Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends. They are but friends and protectors to each other Qur’an 5:51

Fight those who do not believe in Allah or the Last Day, who do not forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, or acknowledge the Religion of Truth (Islam), (even if they are) People of the Book (Christians and Jews), until they pay the Jizyah tribute tax in submission, feeling themselves subdued and brought low.” [Another translation says:] “pay the tax in acknowledgment of our superiority and their state of subjection Qur’an 9:29

The Jews and the Christians say: ‘We are sons of Allah, and his beloved.’ Say: ‘Why then does He punish you for your sins? Nay, you are but men. He forgives whom He wishes and punishes whom He pleases Qur’an 5:18

When Allah’s Apostle became seriously sick, he started covering his face with a woolen sheet. When he felt short of breath, he removed it, and said, ‘That is so! Allah’s curse be on Jews and Christians Bukhari:V5B59N727

So if Moslems were to promote such dialogue would they not be seen as disobeying the very book they believe they are following?

And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.   Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.    surah 4.157-158

Who by their own confession follow another Jesus.  In contrast to Muhammad is not even great enough to tie Muhammad’s shoes. Jesus very sacrifice is rejected for some deception on the part of God (allah).  The substituted Lamb of God finds himself substituted at the last minute.  Such a rejection takes place in the light of scripture, prophecy and the documentation of numerous witnesses to Jesus crucifixion and resurrection. The inevitable rejection holds God up as the perpetrator of some monstrous deception and Jesus as some cowardly liar.  Who hides out for three days only to reappear to fulfil what never took place.  Who would want to follow such betrayal and cowardliness of a prophet who predicted a death that never came to pass and further more allows his disciples to believe and die for a falsehood?

John 2: 19 & 21  Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up…… But he spake of the temple of his body.

Luke 24: 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again

Clearly to enter into dialogue with any religion which Mocks Christ in such manner and holds him up to such contempt is simply impossibility.  In fact it would be a betrayal of everything which is dear to a Christian.

One Moslem posted this comment

BIBLICAL KRYPTONITE?? “And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitant s of the mountain; but COULD NOT drive out the inhabitants of the valley, BECAUSE THEY HAD CHARIOTS OF “IRON”.” (Judges 1:19)

BIBLICAL KRYPTONITE?? ”   says Mikaeel Do you think so?  I don’t.

Judges 1: 18-19 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof. And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out [the inhabitants of] the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

This Moslem seems to think that Gods failure here was a weakness, when in fact it was strength.  The god of Islam wants slaves and slaves that are prepared to kill and be killed.  Therefore there seems to be little concern over the death of his slaves.  However the true God of the Bible has a more caring attitude.  One of which he does not send his people into to be mowed down just for the fun of it.  Flesh and bone does not match well against a chariot.  Whilst Israeli armour was limited, their troop’s poorly trained, they were able to take on armies far better equipped and far better trained and destroy them.

However those same Chariots that appeared to be so phenomenal were also rendered useless against the mountainous regions of Israel.  So those nations who had them could not use them either against Israeli forces.  In the process of time as Israel grew those chariots were taken.

The issue was not God’s lack of power but Israeli faith to take those Chariots.  So it is with every believer.  We all have our chariots to overcome, and problems that seem insurmountable.  God is far more patient than we are.  Sometimes it just takes time to overcome.  Sometimes our faith needs to grow before we can tackle our problems

Yet in the process of time those giants that face us will be overcome.  This will not be the first time, nor the last time will Israel face a giant.  Sometimes it took a lad with a sling to show others that insurmountable problems are not so big after all.

1Cr 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

John 3: 20-21 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

It seems Atheists are going to court in America to stop a 9/11 memorial museum in New York from featuring steel beams found standing upright in the shape of a cross amid the rubble of the attacks.   It would seem that the wicked do not want anyone or anything to remind them that God is real.  Even is it means that those who gained comfort from this beckon are refused that hope and comfort.  This is no longer about supporting the families who died but supporting a personal agenda.

The article goes on to say:

The beams were seen by many New Yorkers as a beacon of hope for the city following the tragedy.

But American Atheists, the group who brought the lawsuit, say the cross is an unconstitutional mingling of church and state, and a breach of ‘equality’.

Ground Zero

Museum officials said the cross was being displayed not because of its religious value but the role it played in the aftermath of the attacks.

Museum president Joe Daniels said in a statement: “The mission of the National September 11 Memorial Museum is to tell the history of 9/11 through historic artifacts like the World Trade Center cross.

He added: “This steel remnant became a symbol of spiritual comfort for the thousands of recovery workers who toiled at ground zero, as well as for people around the world”.

Flawed

The American Centre for Law and Justice called the lawsuit “flawed”, and Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow said; “This is another pathetic attempt to rewrite the Constitution and rewrite history by removing a symbol that has deep meaning and serves as a powerful remembrance to that fateful attack nearly ten years ago”.

The cross was placed inside the 9/11 Memorial Museum during a ceremony earlier this month.

Dave Silverman, president of American Atheists, said: “As a public accommodation, the memorial must allow us [and all other religious philosophies] to include our own display of equal size inside the museum, or not include the cross.”

The 9/11 memorial and museum is due to open later this year on the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

So the 10th anniversary memorial service of New York’s 9/11 tragedy will not include clergy or prayers, it has been revealed.

The ban has caused upset because church leaders played a vital role in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Former Deputy Mayor of New York Rudy Washington, who was serving in office at the time of the 9/11 attacks, expressed outrage at the exclusion.

Surprised

Mr Washington said: “This is America, and to have a memorial service where there’s no prayer, this appears to be insanity to me. I feel like America has lost its way”.

City Council Member Fernando Cabrera, a pastor at New Life Outreach International, said he was “Utterly disappointed and surprised”.

He told The Wall Street Journal that religious leaders were “one of the pillars that carried us through. They were the spiritual and emotional backbone, and when you have a situation where people are trying to find meaning, where something is bigger than them, when you have a crisis of this level, they often look to the clergy.”

Concern

John Long, Director of the Federation of Fire Chaplains for the Mid-Atlantic, expressed concern and said: “You can’t have a memorial service without religion.”

A spokesperson for New York’s City Hall defended the decision, saying that religious leaders had been excluded from previous 9/11 memorials and they wanted this one to be the same.

The spokesperson said: “There are hundreds of important people that have offered to participate over the last nine years, but the focus remains on the families of the thousands who died on September 11”.

Now from time to time you come across some  teaching which on the surface is so ridiculous and so prosperous as to stagger  the mind.  This particular one here has  to be the ultimate fantasy.  Something  which even Walt Disney would find hard to think up.

IT GOES LIKE THIS

“Muslims  believe that Jesus was a true prophet of God.  And also accept his advent as having been  foretold in the previous scriptures”

Moslems say they believe in Jesus; however  the Jesus they believe in is another Jesus.  A Jesus who has been refashioned into the image of a failed prophet that  needed to be rescued before he was crucified.  They say they respect him, and yet this respect leaves out of the Koran everything  Jesus teaches.

Jesus made it clear if you love him then you would obey what he teaches.  This lack of obedience reveals that Moslems  not only had no love for Jesus, but no respect for the true Jesus of the Bible

Again and again Jesus said that he  was sent to the world only to give as much guidance as the people of his own
time could bear. As for complete teaching which would stay forever with  mankind, he said
:

Now notice that they present Jesus as just another  prophet, but Jesus was more than a prophet.  They present him as a failed Prophet, but Jesus mission was a  victory.   Islam  teaches that his teaching would stay  forever, and yet  Islam  reject his teachings.

But what about Muhammad?

In trying to convince their followers  that Muhammad is in the Bible they have had to do quite a bit of twisting of scripture.  However this  failure does nothing but shows that Islam is nothing more than a counterfeit.

But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom  Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all
things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14-26)

Immediately we have an assumption the  comforter which is mentioned in John 14 suddenly becomes Muhammad.  Even though Jesus clearly identifies who the  comforter was.    He was the HOLY SPIRIT.  Now when was Muhammad ever a SPIRIT?  Let’s keep going!!!

Only  the prophet of Islam could have fulfilled this prophecy of Jesus. Muhammad was  truly sent in his name because he bore testimony to his truth. The Holy Quran  says:

The Messiah, son of Mary, was a messenger,  “surely messengers like unto him had passed away before him” (The  Holy Quran 5:76)

The  Holy Quran reports that the angels told Mary: Surely Allah gives you good  news with a word from Him of whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary,  worthy of regard in this world and hereafter. (The Holy Quran 3:46)

Now just because Muhammad threw in  the story about Jesus being born to Mary, this is supposed to convince people  that he was a true prophet!  Not  according to the Bible.  True prophet  would have spoken and obeyed what Jesus taught.  True prophets get it right , but Muhammad did not.  Nor did Muhammad teach others in the name of  Jesus.  When Muhammad did appear he came in the name of an idol called Allah.  Again this makes him a FALSE PROPHET.    But  also the actual story of Jesus birth given by the Koran is wrong.  Jesus was born in Bethlehem not as the Koran describes  under some tree somewhere.  So if  Muhammad could not even get the facts right what makes anyone think this proved  he was a true prophet.

The  Holy Prophet testified to the truth of Jesus as a divine and honored Teacher and  Prophet, and declared them mistaken and misguided who thought him accursed. The  Holy Quran described his teachings as “guidance and light .”Further  elaborating the same prophecy, Jesus said:

Jesus was  more than a mere prophet or honoured teacher , He was God manifested in the  flesh who came and died for the sins of mankind.  Muhammad failed in this respect also.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient  for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto
you; but if I depart, I will sent him unto you. And when he is come, he will  reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. … I have yet  many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. How be it when he,  the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not  speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak.. and he  will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of  mine, and shall show it unto you. (John 16:7-14)

This  prophecy clearly lays down that:

  1. The Comforter will come after the  departure of Jesus.
  2. When the Comforter comes, he will  reprove the world of sin, truth and justice.
  3. He will guide the world into all  truth.
  4. The book revealed to him will contain  no human word.
  5. He will foretell things to come.
  6. He will glorify Jesus and clear him
    of all charges.

Some of these six statements Jesus  never actually mentioned in the gospel of John.  This Moslem writer has changed it, however for the sake of debate I will  take each point as he has written it and show that none of these points could possible point to Muhammad.

“Now  when we take this prophecy point by point, it is unmistakably proven that it  applies to none else but the Holy Prophet Muhammad. He came after Jesus.

Let us see which of us is right then?

The Comforter was supposed to reprove the followers of Jesus. Obviously, he could  not be a Christian or a Jew .The prophecy must relate to one who would belong  to another people but should respect Jesus and promote reverence for him. The  Holy Prophet was neither Jew nor a Christian. He was an Ishmaelite. But he  defended the honor of Jesus. Thus says the Quran:

[The Jews] slew him not, nor crucified him, but he  was made to appear to them like one crucified, and those who differ therein are  certainly in a state of doubt about it: they have no definite knowledge  thereof, but only follow a conjecture; and they did not convert this:  conjecture into a certainty; on the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself (The  Holy Quran 4: 158)

Here  the Holy Quran specifically says that Jesus was saved from that accursed death  designed for him by his enemies. However, they only suspected that they had  succeeded in crucifying him. But Allah had not only saved him but admitted him  to the circle of His favoured ones.

As we can see Muhammad rejects the  fact that Jesus was crucified, this makes him a false prophet.  As far as the crucifixion is concerned we have  the proof of prophecy, we have the testimony of those who were there and saw  him crucified, we have the testimony of those who saw him after he rose from  the dead.  Most importantly we have the  proof of Jesus himself.

Now we have not even got to the point of  showing how it is impossible for him to be the comforter.  Notice they list the mission of the  Comforter.

  • He will come after the departure of Jesus.

Muhammad did not come until at least 600 years later.  But the Holy Spirit came 40 days later in Acts chapter 2.  So who fulfils this prophecy?

Acts 2: 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

So the HOLY SPIRIT fulfils this prophecy and Muhammad does not.  Notice it says “They were all filled”   Long before  Muhammad was even thought off,   the HOLY SPIRIT filled each and every person in that room.  Now Muhammad  a finite being could only be in one place at one time and yet this comforter filled each person there.

  • When the Comforter comes, he will reprove the world of sin, truth and justice.

Acts 2: 37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

So the HOLY SPIRIT brought these men under conviction.  Notice Muhammad was no where to be found at this point.  Now how can a man who is not even born convict people centuries before hand?

The prophecy said that “he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that he shall speak”. This description can only apply to the Prophet Muhammad. The New and Old Testaments do not contain a single book in which man’s word has not been mixed with God’s. The Quran is nothing but the word of God from beginning to end. Not a word even of the Prophet is to be found in it.

Again another assumption that the Bible has been corrupted but the Koran has not. This is about as foolish as you can get. If God could not keep the Bible sound what makes anyone think he would be able to keep the Koran sound?  If the  Bible has been mixed with mans thoughts, why would you then use the Bible to prove that the comforter was  Mhammad.  That’s like shooting yourself in the foot.

  • He will guide the world into all truth.

When we examine the New Testament we will see that what was taught was based on scripture.  It shows who and what Jesus did.  It shows that Jesus fulfilled Biblical prophecy.  Bible Prophecy which Muhammad failed to recognise and actually rejected.  So he did not guide the world into truth.  This again makes him a false prophet.

  • The book revealed to him will contain no human word.

2 Tim 3: 16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Now as we have already seen Moslems believe that the Bible has been corrupted.  Clearly Muhammad did not point his followers to read and obey the scriptures.  The Bible is not mans work but Gods.  So Muhammad failed again.

  • He will foretell things to come.

Again we see from scripture from Genesis to the book of Revelation that the comforter the Holy Spirit did indeed  reveal all that was to come.

  • He will glorify Jesus and clear him of all charges.

It is clear Muhammad did not glorify Jesus.  If he did then his followers today would be following the true Jesus of the Bible. They would love what he teaches. So far from debating with Moslems all I can see is hatred for what Jesus  teaches.

How clearly has the prophecy been fulfilled in the person of the Prophet Muhammad in all of its details. Sometimes an unsuccessful attempt is made to dim the glory of this marvelous prophecy by claiming that this Comforter was the Holy Ghost who came after Jesus to his disciples. One wonders how this claim can be harmonized with the fact that the person foretold in the verses is described with the pronoun “he,” which could not possibly refer to a spirit. Then, was not the Spirit of Truth supposed to come only after the departure of  Jesus? Should it be then assumed that the Holy Ghost was not with Jesus ? Obviously no devoted Christian will accept this assumption. One can also inquire where that truth is which is not found in the New Testament but was later brought by the Holy Ghost.

It seems that because the Bible speaks about the HOLY SPIRIT as a “HE” it cannot possibly speak about a
spirit.  However the writer of this article simply does not know scripture.

John 4: 24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth

Notice it says “GOD IS A SPIRIT” and how does he describe him?   Is not “HIM” a gender?

Now the fact that the term HOLY SPIRIT is found both in the Old and New Testament and long before Muhammad was ever born must prove a major issue for Moslems. It certainly proves how gullible and how deceived they are?

Pslams 51: 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Isa 63: 10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] he fought against them.

Both of these verses where written hundreds of years before even Jesus was born. Never mind Muhammad.

The writer states “was not the Spirit of Truth supposed to come only after the departure of Jesus? Should it be then assumed that the  Holy Ghost was not with Jesus” .

Such statements reveal a tremendous lack of understanding of the work and mission of the Holy Spirit.  In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit would come upon believers from time to time, but never as an abiding life changing presence, and certainly only upon a few chosen vessels. The New Testament promise was that he will abide forever in ALL OF Gods chosen.  This was to be a major change from the Old Testament.

John 14:  16- 17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

he may abide with you for ever” Did Muhammad abide with his followers for ever?  NO he died and was buried.  So he cannot fulfil this statement. It says that the WORLD cannot see the comforter. Did the world see Muhammad?   Absolutely,  again he could not fulfil that statement.  Can the world know the comforter, the answer is NO.  Did the world know Muhammad?  YES, so again he fails on that point. The comforter would live inside the believers.  Did Muhammad live inside those who followed him?  NO, so again Muhammad fails.

Some have suggested that this abiding might be talking about his teachings , But is not what it says,  “HE” WILL ABIDE WITHIN YOU FOR EVER ”  it does not say  what he taught would abide.  The idea of a COMFORTER was that someone WHO comforts. Muhammad did little of that as he tried to bring Arabia under his heel.  In the end Muhammad died apparently by being poisoned.  He never saw that coming.

One of the things that gets me the most about Word of faith (WOF) teachers is how they present a message that is more akin to vampires, who suck the spiritual life right out of believers.  They leach onto a person and draw whatever true spirituality right out of them.  There message attracts the most vulnerable amongst us; the sick, the weak, the undiscerning and the poor.  Instead of pointing people to the true provision which is Christ, they have people running around after these vampires of the gospel.  Instead of a Christ centred gospel they present a man centred gospel.  So we have the sick running from one so called anointed person to person.  Taking their eyes of Jesus and placing them on these vampires.  Buying their books and tapes, confessing their healings and their adopting practices, and the faith of God is sucked right out of them.  These harlots of the gospel prostitute themselves before men; they become rich at the expense of others.   They feed of peoples despair. So many cannot even see who and what they are getting into bed with.  Sometimes I want to run out into the street and cry out “open their eyes Lord Before it’s too late.”

Before we see more graves stones that read

“  Here lies so and so. They once believed, The confessed to being healed. God was not around. died and without hope”

Can you tell those who have been bitten by these vampires that the road they are on will lead to nothing more than ruin, sorrow, and spiritual death?  Not a chance!  They will argue with you as they take as spiritual knife to their throats and kill themselves.  It is absolutely heart wrenching because you can see the need.  You watch the life of God drain out of them.  You stand and watch hope ebb.  You see the confusion and the questions why am I not healed?   They are trusting in men and not God, but God gets the blame.  They stand there and they just can’t see the difference between the lie and the truth.   Even those who would adamantly reject believing in Hagin or Copeland or their Word of Faith teachings, there are others like Joyce Meyers whose books are selling like hot cakes. Preaching a motivational message whilst trying to hide and disguising the WOF message.  Encouraging people on how to feel good but the message is soured and bitter.

The provision is plenty

A man who holds a jug of clear cool water out to the thirsty, and the thirsty blinded to the provision keep running around from one dry watering hole to the next.  They cry out for water to satisfy their needs, pleading to have their thirst quenched.  The man stands there his provision is full and plenty but people refuse to see.  They want that provision fulfilled their way and in their time.  These Vampires present a message centred on themselves and not God.  They want God as their lap dog trained and broken to what they confess.  Whilst boast of their riches God calls it like it is, Poor blind and naked. How many times do we hear the phrase “by your stripes we are healed”, like some mantra they keep chanting it.  But faith lies not in the verse but in the
one who inspired those verses.  Yet somehow those who most need Gods provision have the lost the ability to see  daylight.  The Vampires have got their hooks into them and now they cannot see that they have to seek God.  He is the one they need to go to.  He is the source they need to draw on.  Sadly they reality of God has been sucked right out of them and now they go looking to those who claim to hear from God.  Who point people to themselves with a self help gospel that gives glory to man and not to God?  My heart aches when you see their plight.  Even as they go running from one vampire to the next hope drains away, Their faith in the living God ebbs, the truths is darkened from their souls.  WHY LORD and yet they choose not to go to the one who can give true peace in the crisis.

God has never promised that we will never age or become sick, that is still Adams inheritance to Adams race.  But he does promise a new incorruptible body that will never ebb or tire.  That’s Jesus inheritance to the new race of redeemed mankind.

The True gospel.

When we first come to know Jesus it is usually about ourselves, but the gospel is never about what I can get from God, but what he gets from us.  He saves us not so we can go out and please ourselves, but how we can please him.  But man has made the gospel all about what we can get.  How God goes out of his way to keep us happy clappy content and spoiled.  That is not the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  You want to know what Christianity should really look like, look to the life of Jesus.
Look at his obedience to his father.

Look at how he delighted in doing the will of his father.  When Jesus was in the garden and he cried out “Not my will but yours”.  He delighted in doing the will of his father and right there his fathers will for Jesus was to take that bitter cup and drink
it.  The father receives glory when we choose to obey him.  It pleases the father when he sees his children obey.  Sometimes the cup can be bitter; we don’t always know the reasons why.  All we know that if it is the Father will then so be it.  In Hebrews 11,
We see the role call of those who obeyed.  They did not always see the fulfilment of the promise.  But they receive the rommendation that they would become heirs of the faith.  They obeyed the calling God gave them.  They did not always see deliverance from adversity but declared that is this is what gave Glory to God, so be it.  Sometimes there is healing and sometimes there is not.  I can’t say why one person is healed and another is not.  God does not tell us why.   For some Gods glory was to drink the cup of suffering and for others it was deliverance from Pharaohs rod.  For Job it was a cup of sickness for Timothy is was a stomach complaint.  Peter saw deliverance from prison, but for Paul it was the executioners block.  For John it was the isles of Patmos.  For poor Stephen it was a stoning at the hands of an angry mob, in all of this God gets the glory.  It is not in the suffering but in the obedience and it is in the patience.  It is the willingness to trust in the one who is able to deliver us from a greater sickness called death.  It is in the face of the why, and yet I still choose to obey.  It is when everything runs to the contrary, and yet I place myself in his hands.  When I don’t understand the suffering and the reasons for it, and yet I still choose to believe, then God gets the glory.

Recently I have done a series of articles on the subject of the sons of God.  It was put forward that Noah was saved because he had all the right genes.  He was physically perfect.  However that is not consistent with the Bible.  From Genesis with the account of Abel, and all the way through the Bible we have story after story about men who were not perfect, or sinless.  Their lives were often marred by sins.  But the Book of Hebrews 11 recounts that they had faith.  These ordinary men despite their faults BELIEVED.  Now there is a consistency which runs like a chain all the way through the Bible and that consistency speaks of FAITH.  Faith is what moved God to extend his grace to mankind.  More than anything else FAITH moves GOD.

  1. Abel was moved by faith to offer a bloody sacrifice.
  2. Enoch walked with God and was ruptured
  3. Noah was moved by faith to build an ark
  4. Abraham  was moved  to leave  his birthplace to find a place that God had called him.
  5. Job who had only heard of God was moved to believe.

Now none of these men had a Bible in their hands.  God had only spoken once possible twice.  But that was enough.  They obeyed what they were told.  Now we have more than they ever did.   Yet how much are we moved by what we are told.  Can you imagine moving upon a single word from God.  Living your whole life time based upon what you were told years previously.

2 cor 10: 7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he [is] Christ’s, even so [are] we Christ’s.

If God does not look on the outward appearance, so having the right genes clearly was not what moved God to extend grace to Noah.  But if we were to believe for a moment that God did extend grace based upon the outward appearance then the consistency of God witness to man is cut and the whole gospel is changed.  There is only one consistent message which runs throughout the Bible and that GOD IS MOVED BY FAITH.

God looks on the heart of man to see if we will believe or not.  If we believe then we will be moved to obedience.  Noah was told one thing by God and that judgement was on its way.  Noah was moved by faith to obey.

1 Sam 16: 7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

This was clearly showed that Noah’s feature had little to do with his salvation.  On that I am glad.  David was picked to become the next King of Israel.  Yet David was the smallest of Jesse’s sons.  He was the shepherd lad that looked after the sheep when his older and bigger brothers went of to war.  But David although the weakest had something his brothers did not have….. HE HAD FAITH IN GOD.  That was what GOD saw and was moved by.

2 Cor 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he [is] Christ’s, even so [are] we Christ’s.

So the weak and the lame have the same opportunity to receive God as anyone.  Once we accept that Noah was not saved by his genes but his faith the consistent record of the Bible continues unabated and undisturbed.  It stands as a witness to every person that has ever lived.  Simply saying I believe in Jesus is not what faith is about.  True faith moves us.  Convinces us and it will pursue us to embrace that heavenly testimony God has given.  Men are looking for that heavenly land and a city foursquare not because the Bible says it, but because we are so convinced by faith we can almost taste it.

True faith humbles us.  True faith is never about me but it is always about the one we serve.

THERE WAS A MAN IN THE LAND OF UZ

Job 1: 1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name [was] Job; and that man was perfect8535 and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Job they say predicts Moses.  It is even possible that Job heard about God from Abraham.  What we do know for sure is that Job had no Bible and had never had a personal encounter with God.  Yet such was his faith he was moved to obey God.  Job was not sinless but he was moral in his conduct.  God extended Grace to this man.  His faith spoke volumes and this moved the heart of God to give this man this testimony.

 THE PREFECT MAN

Gen 6: 9 These [are] the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man [and] perfect8549 in his generations, [and] Noah walked with God.

The word used of Noah being perfect is the same word that is used by the Palmist to describe the believer in general

Ps 37: 18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright8549: and their inheritance shall be for ever

Ps 15: 2 He that walketh uprightly8549, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart

The perfect man may not be sinless buy he believes and follows.

David was moved to take on a goliath.  Gideon to take on an army, Moses to take a people to the promise land.  Daniel to face a lions den.  All these men received a good report because they had faith.  This consistency runs throughout the Bible.  It is made clearer in the New far more than the old but it is still there.    Now if we turn round and said that Noah was saved just because he had the looks then the gospel is totally changed.  As we have seen the record we have is that God does not look on the outward man but on the inward person.  But what if?  Then those who don’t have the right looks are left out as one minister tries to debate.  It would mean that the blind, the deaf, the downs child, the handicap child all loose out.  What individual today can boast of having the perfect genes?  But is we turn round and say that Noah was saved because he was moved by faith.  Then the gospel of the whosoever fits.  It does not matter what your looks are, what genes you have.  What your background.  Faith will move God to extend grace to the sinner.  That’s the good news.  Black White Asian Chinese and anything in between.  If you will believe God will extend his grace.  The drowning man has to believe that his rescuer has the will and the power to save him.

MORE THAN ANYTHING FAITH MOVES US TO FOLLOW GOD

Heb 11: 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

This is one of the most wonderful blessings any man can receive from God.  What a testimony we have had a good report.  We are not perfect but we believe and that belief is transmitted into action.

Hebrews 11: 4  By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hebrews 11: 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith

Hebrews 11: 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went

All the way through this chapter God gives us this witness : “BY FAITH”  Men were moved to follow God.  I cannot understate this fact.  True Biblical Christ accepting faith is moved to believe and obey what God has said and is moved by it.  Just as God is moved by our faith we are moved to obedience by our faith.  The Holy Spirit comes to make that faith real in our lives.

Today people are being persecuted and killed in their hundreds; all they have to do to stop it is recant off our belief in Go and Jesus d.  But they choose to say yes to God testimony.  They are prepared to lay their lives on that fact.

 THIS IS OUR HOPE

Hab 2: 4 Behold, his soul [which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Faith moved Jesus to extend his hand to heal.

Mat 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Mat 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Faith takes us into the very presence of GOD.  Faith obtains the blessing of God.  Faith recognises the testimony of God and embraces it.  Faith acknowledges that Jesus died for our sins and rose for our justification.  By faith we acknowledge our weakness and trust in his provision.

True Biblical faith will hold to the witness of God.  Now sadly many do not have this Biblical faith and they will be swayed by whatever wind blows.  True faith turns cowards into fighter,  Shepherds into Kings.  Ignorant fishermen to witness to the intellectuals.  You can’t stop true biblical believers.  They are moved by a power not of this world, because they are persuaded by a power that is not of this world.  They have peered over the wall of the physical and see the world that is to come.  They have looked beyond and see what human eyes cannot see.  For they see and are convinced by what they see.  We hope and we embrace that while we do not see clearly we have embraced the witness of our God.  Faith persuades us to bow our knees to the who created us and saves us.  Faith confesses that my allegiance is his.  Men boldly stood up to the burning stake knowing that their flesh will be burned.  Ye they stood and testified to the greatness of God.  They would not be shaken in their testimony.  They could lift their hands as the flames licked higher and declare that Jesus was their Lord.  True faith declare that if this served his glory so be it.

NO I BUT CHRIST

Many have tried make faith about what we can get from God, but that is not true biblical faith. This is a gospel of  selfishness which has been mixed with commercialism .   True Biblical faith is what we  can offer up to God.  True faith recognises our own dire condition and recognises that God is the answer to it.

TRUE FAITH IS THE CHILDS ANSWER THAT LOOKS UP FOR A FATHER TO TAKE THEIR HAND AND LEAD THEM HOME.

The notes come from an article on how to convert to Islam.  However we are going to compare what the Bible has to say on this issue:

The word “Muslim” means one who submits to the will of God, regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background. Becoming a Muslim is a simple and easy process that requires no pre-requisites. One may convert alone in privacy, or he/she may do so in the presence of others.

If anyone has a real desire to be a Muslim and has full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion of God, then, all one needs to do is pronounce the “Shahada”, the testimony of faith, without further delay. The “Shahada” is the first and most important of the five pillars of Islam. With the pronunciation of this testimony, or “Shahada”, with sincere belief and conviction, one enters the fold of Islam.

Upon entering the fold of Islam purely for the Pleasure of God, all of one’s previous sins are forgiven, and one starts a new life of piety and righteousness. The Prophet said to a person who had placed the condition upon the Prophet in accepting Islam that God would forgive his sins:

“Do you not know that accepting Islam destroys all sins which come before it?” (Saheeh Muslim)

Forgiveness without accountability.

Upon what basis is these sins forgiven?  NONE.  How do they know their sins are forgiven?  THEY DON’T.  Who is to say a person could accept Islam one day and then reject it the next.  The Bible however gives us the basis upon which sins can and will be forgiven.  The shedding of blood and the death of the innocent was Gods way of building a foundation upon which man can come to know that their sins are forgiven.  There is no if, but, or maybe with God.  The foundation of faith is not based upon the mere words of a man but upon Biblical and historical evidence.  Islam does not have that.  The Bible lays principle upon principle, brick upon brick all the way from Genesis to Calvary and then to the Book or revelation.  So the foundation of redemption runs consistently throughout the Bible.  Every detail is there for a reason.  This consistency does not run through the Koran.

Christianity however has also in recent years fallen into the same lie as Islam.  Forgiveness without accountability.  It seems as long as we could get people to say the right words and nod at the right prayer we came to believe they were then converted to Christianity.  In reality words alone did not make the change.  God alone and the transformation of the Holy Spirit alone made the change.  When people cried out to God it was God who did the saving.  Man has no ability strength or power to save himself.  He must cry out to God to save or he will be lost.  Faith was never in our words we speak but in the living God who has the power to save and to forgive.   God is a moral God and is precise in everything he does and therefore lays down principles upon which we can know that God approves or  disapproves of something.

NOT GOOD DEAD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS BUT BY FAITH:

Salvation was never in trying to conform our lives to a religious institution, but in the transforming power of God which works mightly in the believer.

Rom 10: 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

When one accepts Islam, they in essence repent from the ways and beliefs of their previous life. One need not be overburdened by sins committed before their acceptance. The person’s record is clean, and it is as if he was just born from his mother’s womb. One should try as much as possible to keep his records clean and strive to do as many good deeds as possible.

The Holy Quran and Hadeeth (prophetic sayings) both stress the importance of following Islam. God states:

“…The only religion in the sight of God is Islam…” (Quran 3:19)

In another verse of the Holy Quran, God states:

“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter, he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (their selves in the Hellfire).” (Quran 3:85)

It is clear then that Islam recognises no other religion but Islam and therefore it will not tolerate rivals.  In fact they make it clear anyone accepts any other religion accept Islam they will be lost.  I one sense here Christianity would hold to a similar testimony that says:

Gal 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

So either Islam is wrong or Christianity is wrong and there is no middle ground. Paul makes it clear that Islam is the one who is wrong.  For the Bible has the foundation history, consistency on salvation.  The Koran has no such evidence to hold up.  Jesus himself had this to say that unless a man is “BORN AGAIN HE WILL NOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN”

John 3: 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Despite the fact that Islam claims to accept Jesus they give little heed to what Jesus had to say.

In another saying, Muhammad, the Prophet of God, said:

“Whoever testifies that there in none worthy of being worshipped but God, Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and Prophet, and that Jesus is the Slave of God, His Prophet, and His word which He bestowed in Mary and a spirit created from Him; and that Paradise (Heaven) is true, and that the Hellfire is true, God will eventually admit him into Paradise, according to his deeds.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)

The Prophet of God, may the blessing and mercy of God be upon him, also reported:

“Indeed God has forbidden to reside eternally in Hell the person who says: “I testify that none has the right to worship except Allah (God),’ seeking thereby the Face of God.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)

This would seem to suggest that people who testify to allah will not spend eternity in hell, is that not similar to purgatory?  Notice that it says that Allah will admit a person into Paradise “ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS”  Now it is my conjecture that Muhammad was influenced by the Roman Catholic church, both for and against its institution.

Salvation based upon works.:  The Bible makes it clear that we can never be saved according to our works. Trying to establish their own righteousness they have not submitted to the righteousness of God,

Rom 10: 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God

Christianity differs here from Islam in so far as we recognised that good deeds before God are not the basis for salvation, Good deeds come from being saved , but do not contribute to salvation.

Romans 3: 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom 3: 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

For the Christian our righteousness comes not from our own good deeds, but from the life of another.  That is why Jesus came and lived a perfect sinless life.  His perfect righteousness would be attributed to the sinner, so that we now stand before a holy God in the righteousness won by Jesus.

The Declaration of the Testimony (Shahada)

To convert to Islam and become a Muslim a person needs to pronounce the below testimony with conviction and understanding its meaning:

I testify “La ilah illa Allah, Muhammad rasoolu Allah.”

The translation of which is:

“I testify that there is no true god (deity) but God (Allah), and that Muhammad is a Messenger (Prophet) of God.”

As Allah is a false deity then confessing him as God is actually placing a curse upon your own head, rather than find God.

When someone pronounces the testimony with conviction, then he/she has become a Muslim.  It can be done alone, but it is much better to be done with an adviser through the “Live Help” at top, so we may help you in pronouncing it right and to provide you with important resources for new Muslims.

The first part of the testimony consists of the most important truth that God revealed to mankind: that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God. God states in the Holy Quran:

“We did not send the Messenger before you without revealing to him: ‘none has the right to be worshipped except I, therefore worship Me.’” (Quran 21:25)

This conveys that all forms of worship, whether it be praying, fasting, invoking, seeking refuge in, and offering an animal as sacrifice, must be directed to God and to God alone. Directing any form of worship to other than God (whether it be an angel, a messenger, Jesus, Muhammad, a saint, an idol, the sun, the moon, a tree) is seen as a contradiction to the fundamental message of Islam, and it is an unforgivable sin unless it is repented from before one dies. All forms of worship must be directed to God only.

Worship means the performance of deeds and sayings that please God, things which He commanded or encouraged to be performed, either by direct textual proof or by analogy. Thus, worship is not restricted to the implementation of the five pillars of Islam, but also includes every aspect of life. Providing food for one’s family, and saying something pleasant to cheer a person up are also considered acts of worship, if such is done with the intention of pleasing God. This means that, to be accepted, all acts of worship must be carried out sincerely for the Sake of God alone.

The second part of the testimony means that Prophet Muhammad is the servant and chosen messenger of God. This implies that one obeys and follows the commands of the Prophet. One must believe in what he has said, practice his teachings and avoid what he has forbidden. One must therefore worship God only according to his teaching alone, for all the teachings of the Prophet were in fact revelations and inspirations conveyed to him by God.

One must try to mold their lives and character and emulate the Prophet, as he was a living example for humans to follow. God says:

One must try and mould their lives… emulate the prophetIslam is a religion of works.  It cannot save the lost any more than trying to lift oneself by your own boot laces.  This is the tragic situation that many believe that by their deeds they can dictate how they will approach God.

Rom 11: 6 And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

ROM 4: 4-5 NOW TO HIM THAT WORKETH IS THE REWARD NOT RECKONED OF GRACE, BUT OF DEBT.   But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

This verse strikes at the heart of any works religion.  For if we have to work for it then it would be  of debt and not grace, however the Bible make it clear that God is no mans debtor.  Salvation can never be based on works.  Fundamentally this would mean that some would have an advantage over others.  The rich would have the abilities to do good deeds than the poor or the invalid.  Is that not what we see with those who travel to the Saudi Arabia and the Hajj.

“And indeed you are upon a high standard of moral character.” (Quran 68:4)

God also said: “And in deed you have a good and upright example in the Messenger of God, for those who hope in the meeting of God and the Hereafter, and mentions God much.” (Quran 33:21)

SIN V GOODS MORALS.

In Islam the issue is trying to have a good character, but in the Bible the issue is that man is sinful and cannot be of a good character.   His righteousness is nothing more than filthy rags.  All have sinned and come short of Gods glory, every man has gone his own way.  There is none righteous no not one and that includes Muhammad as well. (Romans 3: )  So man has no ability to make himself right with God because his best is not good enough.

Muhammad’s character is therefore not a good character.  As we have seen the evidence from the Bible is that there is none righteous before God.  The example of the little old lady who lives down the street who bakes cookies for the boy scouts is still just as unrighteous before God as the vilest criminal who ever exists.  We might be horrified by this.  However that is because > SIN< is sanitized and moralised in our culture and we simply do not see it for what it is.  Sin is a blight that exists at the very core of our being,   a nature that resents any conformity to Gods law, a rebellion that seeks to establish his own way to approach his deity.  Many religions have a moral code of practice that seems admirable.  They have an outward conformity to practices, but there still burns in their nature that which resents that conformity.  They will adhere because it suits their purposes.

“He was sent in order to practically implement the Quran, in his saying, deeds, legislation as well as all other facets of life. Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, when asked about the character of the Prophet, replied:

“His character was that of the Quran.” (As-Suyooti)

To truly adhere to the second part of the Shahada is to follow his example in all walks of life. God says:

“Say (O Muhammad to mankind): ‘If you (really) love God, then follow me.’” (Quran 3:31)

It also means that Muhammad is the Final Prophet and Messenger of God, and that no (true) Prophet can come after him.

Muhammad is not the father of any man among you but he is the Messenger of God and the last (end) of the Prophets and God is Ever All-Aware of everything.” (Quran 33:40)

All who claim to be prophets or receive revelation after Muhammad are imposters, and to acknowledge them would be tantamount to disbelief.

We welcome you to Islam, congratulate you for your decision, and will try to help you in any way we can.

The last part is the rejection of Jesus to the worship of Muhammad.  Now Moslems would obviously disagree that they worship Muhammad.  But you can see by the way they elevate him upon a pedestal they actually do. Just as Christians seek to elevate and recognise Jesus, Islam would elevate Muhammad to a similar status.   Why is it so important that we believe that Muhammad has to be the final prophet why?   Because as a religion it is not God centred but man centred.    They place Muhammad in the place Jesus should be.  Jesus failed in his mission while Muhammad succeeded in his.

The Bible says if a prophet came along and gave a word and said let us go and worship another God we are not to believe him.   If Muhammad was a true prophet then he would have pointed to Jesus as the saviour of the world, instead he rejected the testimony God gives concerning his son.

FOR GOD NEVER LEAVES US WHERE HE FINDS US.

 Rom 3: 24-25  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

ROM 4: 4-7 NOW TO HIM THAT WORKETH IS THE REWARD NOT RECKONED OF GRACE, BUT OF DEBT. BUT TO HIM THAT WORKETH NOT, BUT BELIEVETH ON HIM THAT JUSTIFIETH THE UNGODLY, HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. EVEN AS DAVID ALSO DESCRIBETH THE BLESSEDNESS OF THE MAN, UNTO WHOM GOD IMPUTETH RIGHTEOUSNESS WITHOUT WORKS.[SAYING], BLESSED [ARE] THEY WHOSE INIQUITIES ARE FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS ARE COVERED.

For the believer we enter into salvation like a drowning man would reach out to a rescuer.  Helpless hopeless and lost.  No provision or goodness to recommend ourselves to one who is absolutely pure in everything he does.  Recognising that all we deserved was his wrath.  God forgiveness comes because we recognised there is one who can save and has the power to save.  Now salvation is not in some mere mental acknowledgement, but when God by his Holy Spirit begin to do a work of transformation within the believer.  Being born again is a supernatural work of Gods grace.  The door was opened by Jesus Christ, the final sacrifice for sin.  He purchased our redemption and we obtain it by asking for it.   We can know we have because his Spirit will witness to our spirits that we are the Child of God and God is our father.  The pwer of the gospel is not the believer trying to make himself righteous, he is righteous before God.  More so is that God will transform our lives to conform to Gods nature.  Jesus took Gods wrath and paid the debt we could not pay.  Therefore we rise with Christ into the newnest of life.
