UCMINISTRIES : This is but a crude illustration which describes the origin of the Word of Faith, or as some have coined The Prosperity Movement..  Whilst this is by no means a complete or exhaustive picture, it does show how the origins of this teaching stem not from scripture but the doctrines of men.   The various relationships between the various ministries may vary from person to person, but there can be no doubt that the influences do exist.

Jude 1: 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ

2 Peter 2: 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction

2 Peter 3: 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

This was predicted centuries ago and we are now seeing the fulfilment.  Sadly many a good man or women has been caught up in the movement and swept along.  These Pillow prophets have merchandised the gospel, crept in under our radar and seduced the church with their pernicious teachings.    I can only hope in time this tree with be added to show how others fit into the picture.  Mark them well as they have neither the health of your soul or your spiritual well being in mind.

Mat 7: 15 -18 @ 20 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

There are many who do come to reject what Hagin taught, yet do not even realise that they are still drinking from the same polluted well. The same theology of faith as a force and the power in words to create ones own reality, still posses a heavy cocktail that many find to hard to renounce.  Motivational speakers like Joyce Mayer and Joel Osteen present to the unwary their own rehash revamped mixture of positive thinking and prosperity gospel all rolled into one.  Many see in these preachers what they lack in themselves, a positive image, a deep sense of self worth, and the need to see themselves in a more positive constructive light.  The sad reality however it is still not the gospel.  What makes this all the more dangerous is that these preachers are elevated and enthroned on pedestals as latter day apostles.  They cannot be questioned or rebuked less you are touching upon the Lords anointed.

The roots of this philosophy go very deep into a theology that’s alien to scripture.  Whilst Biblical terms like faith in God are used, inevitably faith gets placed in everywhere else but God.     The message may sound overwhelmingly positive but positivity in of itself is still not scripture.

Scripture is made into a repetitive confession simply to be declared, rather than a belief to be lived by, and just because a man can confess there is a GOD does not mean he truly knows him.  A reptititious confession cannot bring a man closer to God, than reading a book makes you known to the author.

To say that the gospel has been hijacked is an under statement.  It has been repackaged, relabelled, prostituted to the ninth degree, Pimped out to whoever will be pay a buck, rebranded all in the name of God.  If Jesus was around to day he would have to cleanse the temple all over again.  Then we wonder why Christianity today if failing.  Unless we have smoke machines and disco lights on the platform the youth are not interested.  The Old guard are pushed out as out of touch and out of date.  Worship is more like an hour at the local disco.

John 8: 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am

John 10: 30 I and [my] Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Is 9: 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Now Jesus makes clear his credentials as to his divinity. But can such be said of others?

So Kenneth Hagin believes that he is as MUCH AN INCARNATION OF GOD AS JESUS WAS? The question is does he fulfil the requirements of one who was incarnated? Jesus made his credentials clear he was Yawah God. Now in what sense can Hagin claim to be the same Yawah God?

1 John 4: 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him

The word “ONLY,” In Greek monogenēs means unique and one of a kind. Jesus made it clear that he was in every way UNIQUE. Now some would try and quibble what Hagin may or may not have said concerning the term incarnation. But Hagin makes it clear by specifically stating that man can be exactly the same “incarnation as Jesus was”

So how does one who is unique cease to be UNIQUE ? He does not unless you are a word of Faith teacher, who believes everyone who is saved becomes an only begotten son. The sad part is they mix up the terms Born again with only begotten. Both are very different words and meaning. The unsaved can be adopted and born again; the term begotten is only applied to a son and heir to his father’s house. When Jesus was born in a manger he was begotten. Otherwise brought forth as the son of his father. That is made clear throughout the gospels.

Jesus said I am the Way the Truth and the Life and NO MAN can come to the father except by me.

Now if Hagin was truly an incarnation he might also possible have claimed to himself and say he was also the Way the Truth and the Life. But it is at this point Hagin becomes disqualified. No man can come to the Father except by Hagin? I don’t think so!!! Only By Jesus and Jesus alone.

Jesus uniqueness is Highlighted Exonerated and Affirmed in a way that even Kenneth Hagin could not possible fill

It must be remembered that this theology is more than a statement that we are gods in Gods class. It comes fully packaged with all the attributes of a god. Claiming equality with God as fellow gods. Boasting that what they confess they will possess. Claiming that Adam was equal to God. That they can do what God can do. Claiming that God was locked outside of this earth and had to get help from man to let him back in. When as Kenneth Copeland claimed that when Jesus said he was the I AM he could claim that title also. On the one hand they claim that Jesus was as the incarnation of God mere human, Yet they will elevate themselves as the incarnation divine and more than human. God is made to seem powerless whilst they are all powerful.

Hagins book “Write your own ticket with God,” sees Hagin triumph over a demon whilst Jesus stood helpless. That is all part of the theology of little gods. Yet who in their right mind would believe that any demon could triumph over the creator of the universe. The fact that Hagin used Jesus name to triumph rather than his own proved a major contradiction to his tale. If Jesus presence could not silence the demon, why should anyone believe that his name would? Hagin gave himself away. The story was fictitious!!!!!

When that old snake in the grass decided to temp Eve with the idea that if they only bite into the fruit that came from the tree of good and evil they would become Gods with “special revelation knowledge.” knowledge that would make them as wise as God himself. Now if Adam and Eve really were gods then all Eve had to do was question and ask how can they become what they were already?

But as Eve did not make such a forthcoming statement but bite into the lie we have to presume that being gods was something they were tempted into. The result was catastrophic. Now both history and scripture has set out before us just what happens to those who begin to see themselves as little gods.

Hurricane Sandy bares down and the gods are silent

Jer 10: 11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, [even] they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens

There lies an open judgement  and a curse upon “ALL” other gods. As there can be only one who created the heavens and the earth, this means the rest with Perish. If you believe yourself a GOD then you come under this judgement. In fact it was this verse that proved to me that the whole little gods doctrine was false.

The Emperors of Rome went mad.

Pharaoh was greatly humbled.

king Nebuchadnezzar landed up eating grass .

Herod landed up being eaten by worms.

Acts 12: 21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, [saying, It is] the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Jer 50: 31- 32 Behold, I [am] against thee, [O thou] most proud , saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time [that] I will visit thee. And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

Jer 2: 28 But where [are] thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for [according to] the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah

Jer 11: 12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble

Where were these little gods when hurricane Sandy brought devastation to the city of New York? They stood helpless. All the confessions, boasting and decrees went unheeded? Where where they as buildings collapsed and floods poured across the flood defences and flooded underground terminals? Where were they? What will they use for an excuse? Is it any wonder that angels look on in amazement at such pride and boasting. yet will they be humbled and repentant ?

Strange things happen to those who perpetuate this myth!

Deut 8: 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live

We don’t live by every word that comes out of our mouth, but by every word he speaks.

John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

Where was Hagin when this happened?

John 1: 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made

Can this be said of Kenneth Hagin?

John 1: 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men

John 1: 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

Now in just these simple statements does Hagin fulfil any of them? If not how then can he claim to be the same incarnation of God? The word alone means God became man, It does not mean Man can become God. So Hagin had to be God before he became man. In which case the trinity becomes more than a triune being. Many simply do not grasp that when men like Hagin describe themselves with the title as INCARNATION. They are not just saying they are a god, but they are part of the GODHEAD. Father Son holy spirit and Kenneth Hagin. To say the least this is blasphemy..

God commanded angels to worship Jesus >>> Does that mean angels should worship Hagin as well

Jesus had no beginning >>>> Hagin had a beginning

Jesus has no end of days >>>> Hagin died

Jesus was creator and sustainer of the universe>>>> Hagin could not even sustain his own life ,

Jesus was the only Begotten Son >>>> Hagin life was anything but unique.

Jesus had no sin >>>> Hagin was born and shapen in iniquity

Jesus had no mother or father >>>> Hagin had both a mother and Father.

Jesus knew what was in all men >>> I doubt If Hagin knew what was in his own heart.

Jesus still raised the dead , made the blind to see and ceased the storms. >>>>>Hagin failed that part as well. His own son in Law buddy Harris died of cancer. No healing and sadly no resurrection either.

Jesus remains our great high priests. >>>> Hagin can’t even fulfil that job requirement,

Jesus is our judge >>>>> Hagin was judged

Jesus gives life >>>> Hagin had no life to give He died

Jesus rose from the dead >>>> Hagin bones remain in his coffin.

Jesus rose himself from the dead >>>> Hagin could not even keep himself alive.

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit >>>> Hagin too late the Holy Spirit has already come

Holy Spirit came in Jesus name >>>> He does not come in Hagin’s name.

Holy spirit will reveal Jesus >>>> He did not come to reveal Hagin

Holy Spirit leads to the truth >>> Hagin followed the father of lies.

Holy Spirit motivates people to realise their sin and repent from it. >>> How can Hagin be a God when he was born a sinner.

God exists from eternity to eternity >>>> God was not made but exist outside of time. Hagin died period his time was up.

So when Hagin says he was as much an incarnation of God as Jesus was, he simply can not fulfill the job description.

Jer 17: 5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD

2Cr 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

Yet is this the confession of the Word of Faith teachers?

We (the church) are Christ. (Kenneth Hagin, As Christ is — So are we, Tape #44H06)

The Christian “is as much an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth.” (Kenneth Hagin, “The Incarnation,” THE WORD OF FAITH (Dec. 1980), 14.)

“Man is a spirit who possesses a soul and lives in a body…., He is in the same class with God. …We know that God is a Spirit. And yet [He] took upon Himself a man’s body….when God took upon Himself human form, He was no less God than when He didn’t have a body. Man, at physical death, leaves his as he was when he had his body.” (Kenneth Hagin, Man of Three Dimensions [Tulsa: Faith Library, 1973]

“[Man] was created on terms of equality with God, and he could stand in God’s presence without any consciousness of inferiority…God made us as much like Himself as possible…He made us the same class of being that He is Himself…Man lived in the realm of God. He lived on terms equal with God…[The] believer is called Christ…That’s who we are; we’re Christ” (Kenneth Hagin, Zoe: The God-Kind of Life, 1989. pp. 35-36, 41)

One of the major problems that word of faith believers have to cope with is the need to keep trying to reassure themselves that they are gods.. That means having to try to live up to an elevated level of a god. Whose heights are so high, and the air so thin that they almost fall over with the sheer magnitude of their boasting.

Now to be fed a daily dose like the above teachings that one can be in the very same class as God. He can do what God does; speak as God does, use the same faith as God does, Create as God does. God himself is more like us. It all becomes a heavy opium of positive emotions that few can resist, a positivity that is centered around oneself and specifically on ones confession. But the need to keep bolstering this image has to be a daily battle.

In The Force of Love, another sermon tape, Kenneth Copeland states, “You don’t have a god in you, you are one.“

Earl Paulk of the Harvester Church in Atlanta, Georgia, in his work, Satan Unmasked, explains it like this: “Adam and Eve were placed in the world as the seed and expression of God. Just as dogs have puppies and cats have kittens, so God has little gods; we have trouble comprehending this truth. Until we comprehend that we are little gods, we cannot manifest the kingdom of God” (p. 97).

Cats and dogs may reproduce, but God did not copulate in order to create man. Such foolishness is astounding.

In his book Agony of Deceit, Michael Horton has documented Kenneth Copeland in a 19 July 1987 crusade as saying, “I say this and repeat it so it don’t upset you too bad. When I read in the Bible where He (Jesus ) says, I AM, I say, Yes, I am too!” (p. 268). In John 8:58, I AM is a self proclamation of Jesus own unique Deity from Exodus 3:14, 15.

Few however realize the sheer magnitude and consequences to such teaching, never mind the effect it has on people’s minds. These teachers then live on a constant high that leads them to believe that they have something the rest of us poor lowly creatures don’t. They become full of stinking pride that’s boasts in their position and revelation. If you cant see your own godhead tough luck. They have ascended the height and now dwell in the place of the most high. They have arrived at a revelation where even God himself must submit to their confessions. Their confessions become God. It rules over their universes and they are the gods within that universe. They then have to see themselves as RICH HEALTHY PROSPEROUS and SUCCESSFUL. Never mind the fact that they could be BROKE ILL and anything BUT PROSPEROUS. It does not matter, mind over matter; confession over reality; What they speak forth must become reality.

Living in a world they think has to bow to their confessions. Pride overwhelms them and they can’t be told. That would be embracing a negative confession. The battlefield becomes an issue of negative over the positive. They don’t see that the real issue is truth and error. Sometimes truth can be negative and error seen as positive. That does not matter, being equal to God does. They are towering above the rest of humanity and God help anyone who does not see the world as they do.

Rev 3: 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

They boasted a positive confession but the reality was so very different.

Scripture reveals their true reality: POOR WRETCHED AND BLIND.

Rev 3: 18-19 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

How many of these prosperity teachers would relate such negative statements as this apostle has?. It was not in their confession or even in their goods, but in their relationship with God. You can be poor materially but still be rich in the things of God,

1 Cor 4: 11-13 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place. And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, [and are] the off scouring of all things unto this day.

Can we see any of the Word of faith teachers today relate to such a testimony? It’s hard to see oneself as a god when one is poor, imprisoned hungry and thirsty.

In the end if they take their confession to its obvious conclusions they are left with a superstitious belief where a negative confession has to be immediately replaced by a positive one. As the tongue is such an unruly member a confession blurted out in the heat of the moment is still a confession. Negative confessions may bring sickness and even death. But a positive one will acquire for them all that THEY WANT. It is not a matter of surrendering one’s life to God but that creation has to surrender to them. The focus becomes self rather than God.

In the end fear becomes the solitary agreement that a negative confession might lead them to their undoing. So they are forever watching what they say lest the power in their tongues brings them to their own destruction.

He stands unique and alone as the ONE TRUE GOD. He will have no rivals, no competition. Kingdoms may come and go, but his will stand forever. Men will live and die but he cannot. Men can boast of their achievements but God alone brings all his plans to success. A life is but for a moment But God alone is immortal and eternal. Men may place their faith in themselves but the arm of the flesh will fail them.

Humility is the enemy of such teachers. The stark reminder that our faith must forever rest in Gods will. It is not in the heavy heights we find God but on our knees in humility and the realization that we cannot, but he can. The stark reality not my will be done but his.

James 4: 10 humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up

It does not say lift yourself up!!!!

Here is an interesting quote from another article that I had to quote from. I cannot underestimate the dangers of this philosophy. It’s well worth reading the whole article to capture what the writer sharing.

“Faith in Doctrines of Demons (1 Timothy 4:1-5) leads to Fear and Death!
Guilt is generally brought about by the tension generated when one was positively confessing but getting no results. According to the Word-Faith position, no results equals lack of faith or open sin in one’s life. This can, and usually does, cause excessive introspection and a tremendous guilt feelings. Sometimes the guilt is real and needs to be dealt with, but often there is no reason for the feelings. Whatever the person was positively confessing was not in God’s plan and He is not going to bring it about.

Fear comes from two areas. First is the obsessive compulsion to be positive in every word. Even using phrases such as “I’m just dying to do that” or “that joke just tickled me to death,” release satanic powers, say the Word-Faith teachers (The Tongue – A Creative Force, p. 90-92). People become afraid that they are going to slip up, utter a negative word, and give a place to Satan. Secondly, fear is a corollary to the guilt mentioned above. Fear and guilt usually work in a downward spiral. One feels guilty because of supposed lack of faith, then afraid because the confession is not “working.” Then there is more guilt, then more fear, and so on down into further despair. This cycle can be extremely spiritually and physically debilitating. All of these spiritual and psychological difficulties can be directly attributed to elevating man to the false position of being a god and saying that he has powers far greater than he really does.” Source

The writer is absolutely correct in his observation.

One more recent worshiper of the faith teachings had this to say :

God had become a man,and ceases to be God. Jesus was a man,and the Bible says that God became a man and ceases to become God, for He,who is God left His powers and set aside His status and Being as God. Jesus was 100% human.

The ramification is that if God ceased to be God then he is no longer God. Gods immutability is called into question. Yet at the same time the Word of faith teaches exalt themselves as gods, elevating man whilst denigrating God. They blur the distinction between the two. However history has always shown that men who come to proclaim their own deity begin to come under the judgement of God. Pharaoh and even the emperor of Rome were often smitten with such delusions and we know how they ended up.

Jer 17: 5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD

When men place their faith in their faith rather than in the God of their faith they are destined to fail. Man can no more save himself by their confessions than raise the titanic in its original condition. It’s not a matter of not seeing the truth but their pride stops them wanting to see the truth.

Some have tried to take this teaching to its obvious conclusion and suffered humiliation and defeat. Nor was it a lack of faith in their part. It was only where they tried to place their faith that was the problem. Their stubbornness and unwillingness to see that the fruit was rotten led to countless sufferings and death.

The name of DR HOBART FREEMAN will live on in infamy. He was a Word of Faith teacher & pastor of Faith Assembly – over 90 people died in his church following his teaching and then Hobart died due to a medically treatable disease.

Many of those who came out of this experience have been emotionally traumatized..

We have seen enough evidence to conclude that the Word-Faith message is a dangerous soul-destroying heresy that simply does not work. It is a body of presumptuous teachings that lacks the authority of the Word of God. It is a system of thinking that has been generated by a group of men drawing from each others teachings with an amalgamation of Christian theology, mysticism and Gnosticism bound together by one of the most fanciful methods of Scripture interpretation ever devised. All of this is buttressed by a mutual admiration society among the most popular of the Word-Faith teachers that admonishes critics to “touch not the Lord’s anointed,” often under dire threats of divine displeasure.

The Watchman Ministry has coined this heresy very well, because it is SOUL DESTROYING.

If you want to read some testimonies by people who have come out of this teaching press

Kenneth Hagin took what was an obscure Greek word and turned it into an idol.  Many within the Pentecostal movement then went and bowed down before this idol,    Hundreds were decieved by this man.  Only God knows the eternal consequences for Kenneth Hagin and the many who have chosen to follow this man.

The concept of the “rhema” became the flagship of Hagins doctrines.  Just about everything was built on this.  Today we can have Rhema FM radio, Rhema ranch, Rhema Theatre Company a rhema Basketball team, and rhema churches with rhema boys and girls clubs.

The famous saying spoken by many is that “God has a rhema word for you

BY DEFINITION:  THE RHEMA IS A SPECIFIC WORD FROM GOD TO A SPECIFIC PERSON AT A SPECIFIC TIME.  If we keep this in mind when looking at the evidence which I will present, we will see this definition does not hold true. Others make a clear difference in so far as rhema is specifically that which is spoken, while logos are purely the written word of God.  Again keep this in mind as we proceed.

Acts 16:6-7 is presented as an example of this case.

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word (logos) in Asia, After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not

(a)The Holy Spirit forbid Paul and his companions to enter Asia.  This would be seen as the rhema word (Specific to Paul) and yet it is not rhema that gets used but LOGOS.  Notice also that it was spoken by the Holy Spirit and not written.

(b)The great commission to preach the gospel was still relevant to all.  So this would be seen as a logos word.  (General to all Christians)

The Bible then becomes a book which contains general information applicable to all but not necessarily specific guidance. While rhema became the voice of God to the believer at any present moment.  The believer was then guided by specific words, experiences, impressions and inner feelings.  Many Pentecostals and Charismatic leaders were led to embrace this subjective definition and thus separate their experiences on a day to day basis from that which was contained within the scriptures.  By doing this Hagin laid down a new world view that presented to the church the Bible (logos) and the prophetic (rhema)

Suddenly God now speaks with two prophetic words rather than one.  Like all modern teaching you can guess which took precedence over the other.  This allowed Hagin the freedom to expound teachings not included in scripture, all in the guise of the New NOW prophetic word.  The Bible was yesterday’s news.  Today we have the rhema prophetic word to guide us.

So Hagin under the guise of the (rhema) prophetic word introduced such teachings:

  1. 1.    Christ’s physical death on the cross was not enough to save us…
  2. 2.    How Jesus tasted spiritual death…
  3. 3.    Jesus was tortured by demons for three days before God declared from heaven its enough
  4. 4.    Christian is as much the incarnation of God as was Jesus…
  5. 5.    Man was created on terms of equality with God…
  6. 6.    He made us in the same class of being as he is himself..
  7. 7.    Man lives on terms equal with God…
  8. 8.    Believer is called Christ….

Hundreds if not thousands have been influenced by this Teacher.  In 2004 Kenneth Hagin died and was superseded by his son Kenneth Hagin Jnr.

Foundations of this teaching stands or falls with Hagin sen.  He stands if his teaching on rhema stands.  There is without doubt Hagin preached another gospel and another Jesus.  Who knows the eternal consequences of those who embraced his teachings.

Now making a statement on to this fact is not the same as proving it.  My aim it to prove that Hagin did not have the slightest understanding of the Greek let alone scripture.

The Mormon Church have their book of Mormon, The Jehovah Witnesses have their New World Translation.  So Hagin had his rhema word.  This became the excuse for extra Biblical revelation.  A subtle poison that has been slowly poisoning the church for the last 50 years.  Natural anyone who came along and disagreed with this new interpretation would be branded as someone who did not have “revelation knowledge” but “sense knowledge.”

SENSE KNOWLEDGE:  Term used by Hagin to demean those who hold to an understanding of scripture.  That makes the Bible the benchmark upon which all and any revelation must be judged.

REVELATION KNOWLEDGE: Term used by Hagin to express superiority over those who hold to the Bible.

(Rick Joyners  prophecy of a coming civil war in the church between what he calls the blues and the greys is a direct descendent of these ideas.  The Blues are those who hold to revelation knowledge (extra biblical material) and the Greys who hold to the Bible as the sole authority in all matters of faith.

Hagin Cosmetic exercises.

Hagin  related numerous visions to  explain his new revelations.  However he could not be seen to abandon scripture entirely.  He still had to appear to embrace the Bible and use it to explain his new revelations.  All the while undermining what it taught.  Today this hardly matters as few hardly read the Bible never mind understand it.  Today Hagin’s fruit has so matured that it no longer matters what scripture says on a certain matter.  Many simply grab apostle so and so and whatever he drivels out are automatically seen as truth.

So rhema quickly superseded scripture and superseded the interpretation of scripture. This allowed those who had embraced this concept to look down upon those mere Bible believers who clung onto their Bibles. Whilst claiming the freedom to embrace new extra Biblical teachings via so called revelation.

We are going to go back to the first century and speak to those who knew and spoke Greek.  They are going to teach us how this word was used in comparison to Logos.

The Old Testament scriptures were the written word upon which the early apostles would have used. The New Testament was only beginning to be written a few years after Paul had established his pastoral churches.  Paul received the word he preached by revelation.  This would have meant that the use of this Greek word “rhema” should have been the most common word used especially in the book of Acts.   Remember HAGIN BELIEVED THAT RHEMA IS THE SPECIFIC WORD SPOKEN TO AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP OF PEOPLE AT ANY GIVEN TIME.  So what was the New Testament then?  Was the New Testament not the new revealed word to the world at that time?  Was it not preached to the Jews on the day of Pentecost?  Was it not preached to a specific group of people?  We must remember that long before Paul wrote his epistles he had already preached the word to those who heard it.    When He wrote his epistles were they not also specific in their message to those churches.  So where then is this word rhema.  How did the early apostles use this Greek word?  Could it be they knew something we don’t?

The use of Logos and rhema as the written word

Scripture God’s revealed word

No one would dispute the fact that logos is used (Acts 1:1 Logos word) to describe the written word.  Few however realise that rhema is also used to describe the written word.

God testimony about his written word

2 Tim. 3:16-17All scripture is given by inspiration

Inspiration (Strong’s 2315) means “God breathed, divinely inspired”

It is therefore excepted that all scripture is God breathed and is therefore God’s revelation to man.  Just as God breathed the breath of life into Adam, so God continues to breathe life into his word the Bible.

Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth

So his word is not only God breathed and inspired by God, but it also contains in its message the power to save.  The gospel is often that which is preached, it is a verbal message inspired and empowered creatively by God to come to a divine end, the saving of souls.

Hebrews 1:1-2God who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in times past unto the fathers by the prophets”

Clearly the Bible is no run of the mill newsletter.  It holds the contents of God’s prophetic word to man and his dealings with man.  It is an affront to declare that in all this time what God has prophetically declared before now has been “general” and “Mundane” .

God has never spoken anything in general or vague tones.  How can anyone say that what is now spoken prophetically is now superior to what God has previously spoken prophetically?

Romans 15:4Written for our admonition

1 Cor 10:11Admonition and example

The Bible is God’s standard and plum line on faith, life and works.  It is still relevant for you and I today.  This is God’s revealed word to the world.

Romans 15:4Written for our comfort, for producing faith, hope, growth

See also 1 Peter 2:2.  Acts 20:32. 1 Thess 2:13

2 Tim 3:16-17Profitable for doctrine reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness

Scripture therefore speaks specifically to every part of our lives.  It is still relevant for yesterday, today and for tomorrow.  Any suggestion that it is substandard must personally reflect upon God himself who is the author of this word.

No man has the right to pick and choose which scriptures are applicable and those that are not.  Yet scripture is a unique piece of divine revelation in that scripture can interpret scripture.  Scripture can teach us what is relevant and what is not.  For example we no longer sacrifice animals because Jesus is that one final sacrifice.  We know that because scripture explains itself.

Hebrews 13:22I have written a Letter unto you in a few words” (rhema)

The letter in question is the Book of Hebrews.

So here the word rhema is used to speak about what has been written down.  That word we now know as the book of Hebrews.

Letter (Strong’s 1989) “Communicate by letter” is the root word for (1992) which we derive the word epistle.   This same word for (1992) epistle is used in 1 Thess5: 27 “I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren

The word epistle is used in relation to the books of Acts, Romans, both books of Corinthians, Colossians, and Both Books of Thessalonians, Timothy, and Peter. In the book of Revelation the Apostle John is told to write down what he sees and hears (Rev 1:19 write 1125) This word is also used in the Book of Jude and the epistles of John (1 John 1:4)

Luke when he came to write the Book of (Acts 1:1) chooses to use the word “Treatise”, which in the Greek is the word  “logos

Eph 3:3-4How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote(4270) afore in a few words (rhema) whereby when ye read ye may understand…”

2 Cor 10:11Let such a one think this that, such as we are in word (logos) by letters when we are absent such will also be in deed when we are present

Hebrews uses the word rhema

Ephesians uses the word rhema                               Bible (written word)

Corinthians uses the word logos

Acts uses the word logos

They are all used to describe the “same” written word.

So any attempt to elevate one word above another must also reflect upon how that word is used in scripture.  Would that mean that some books are more inspired than others?

We are told that “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD BREATHED” irrespective of what Greek word gets used.  There is no 1st 2nd or 3rd class letters from God.  But not all scripture has the same relevance e.g. Romans 7:1- “Released from the law” Hebrews 8:1- Old and New Covenant.  This brings us to another aspect.. The prophetic word.

The prophetic word

Old Testament

The Old Testament is full of prophecies concerning Israel and the Messiah Jesus.  Many of those have already been fulfilled, but there are also many that are still to be fulfilled.

Should we classify what is still to be fulfilled as logos and what has been fulfilled as rhema?

Matthew 15:4 “For God commanded saying (lego) “Honour thy Father and mother…” Remember that lego is a root word for logos.

This was a direct spoken command from God (no higher inspired prophetic authority) to Moses upon the MT Sinai.  Jesus himself and Matthew recorded it as so.  So why would such a word as “lego” be used to describe such a momentous meeting between God and his prophet Moses?

Did Matthew NOT realise the importance of such a meeting, who spoke and to whom did God speak?  What was spoken was it mundane, past relevance to the people Jesus spoke to?

Was it?

Root words: We often have words for example “pneumatic”, as in tyre or drill, this word comes from a root word – “Pneuma” This is the same Greek word for “spirit and breath wind.”  So in the Greek and because the English is influenced by many Greek words we often have words which have a root word to them.

Luke 3:14Word (logos) of Isaiah” ( fulfilled)

Acts 15:15Word (logos) of Prophets”(fulfilled)

John 12:38Sayings (logos) of Isaiah the prophet” (fulfilled)

See also Jn 10:33 (logos)

2 Peter 3:2 “That ye may be mindful of the words (rhema) which were spoken before by the Holy Prophets and the commandments of us the prophets of the Lord and saviour” (fulfilled)

The subject matter of the previous scriptures is the same written word we are now reading

In the use of the above scripture the writers have chosen to use both rhema and logos in reference to:

The word that has already been given and what has already been written.

Clearly Isaiah the prophet proclaimed God’s word which in the New Testament was fulfilled

The fact it was fulfilled did not see the writers of the New Testament try to re-categorise the prophecy into a new category.  They still used the word logos to describe a prophetic event.

If we try to force the issue by separating the writing logos into the spoken prophetic word rhema as some today would suggest.  Many will fail to notice the injustice and the prophetic significance of Christ birth and death was to achieve.  There are no mere 2nd or 3rd prophecies.

There are only those that are fulfilled and those that are still to be fulfilled, but they are all prophetically important.

Michael Houke has done an amazing job at collecting many of the names and teachings of the the WORD OF FAITH (WOF) .   Many of these teachers might have pedated others,  But their influence has played  a major part in what we now know as the prosperity gospel. UC Ministries.

The Word-Faith Movement gets its teachings from E.W. Kenyon (1867-1948) and recently from Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland. Kenyon got many of his teachings from Metaphysical cults such as New Age Thought, Christian Science, and Gnosticism. There are basically five doctrines of this movement, they are as follows:

1. Revelation Knowledge
2. Tongues
3. Faith
4. Healing
5. Prosperity

Another name for this movement/cult is the popular “ Prosperity Gospel”. Summed up briefly this movement believes that based on the amount of one’s faith they can say it or will it and they can have all the riches they desire. One proponent of this movement, Frederick K.C. Price once said; I drive a Rolls Royce because I have a Rolls Royce kind of faith, if you drive a Volkswagen it’s because you have a Volkswagen kind of faith. This non-sense is taught nowhere in scripture and is completely heretic.

Some of the more well known Preachers of this Movement/Cult are as follows:

John Avanzini
Todd Bentley
Rodney Howard Browne
Morris Cerullo
Kenneth and Gloria Copeland
Paul And Jan Crouch
Creflo A. Dollar
Jesse Duplantis
Kenneth Hagin
Benny Hinn
Steve Hill
Prophet Bernard Jordan
Cindy Jacobs
T. D. Jakes
T. B. Joshua
Patricia King
Kathreen Kulhman
Essek Kenyon
Bishop Eddie Long
Miles Monroe
Joyce Myers
Aimie Simple McPherson
Joel Osteen
Rod Parsley
Peter Popoff
Fredrick K.C. Price
Paula Price
Oral and Rich Roberts
Robert Tilton
Paula White
And many others.

These preachers are nothing more than Wolves in Sheep clothing. Most of them are from the Pentecostal movement and Oneness Pentecostal churches. Other than teaching that the bible wants us to be rich, many of them teach that we are “little gods”. They understand/justify that because we are created in God’s Image, therefore we are little gods with a small “g”. This teaching is highly heretic. Nowhere in scripture does it state that man can become a God or even remotely alludes to the fact that man can become a God, even with a little “g”. They claim that they receive revelation knowledge from God about their teachings. Where can we find this in the Bible? When the Canon of scripture was closed it was finished, we are never told that in the latter years we will receive new and updated information that will be on par or equal with the Bible.

Here is some of the outlandish things that they teach:

1. Faith is a force (Star Wars)
2. Man can become a God
3. Jesus was a rich man
4. Jesus wore designer clothes
5. Jesus stayed at the best places while on tour
6. Because Jesus had a treasurer, he had to be rich
7. Jesus went to hell and battled Satan
8. Jesus was tortured in hell
9. Jesus was born again in hell
10. Jesus rose from the grave in order for believers to become little Gods
11. Believers can control illness and sickness based on their faith
12. Believers have the power to touch and heal others, like Jesus
13. Believers have the power to raise people from the dead
14. Believers receive new revelation knowledge
15. Believers are no longer sinners
16. Believers can talk money into their wallets and purses
17. Holy Laughter is a gift from God
18. They elevate man to God status and reduce God to man’s status

Let’s see what these preachers have to say in their own words:

Paul Crouch : “We gotten so caught up in theology and debating and discussing theology and nit picking on this, and the heretic hunters have smokescreen the whole thing.” (The Christian Channel Europe “Praise The Lord” 14/6/98)

Benny Hinn : “Now I am going to read one scripture and then I am going to preach and the Devil is going to drop dead.” (The Christian Channel Europe “Praise The Lord” (TBN) 22/2/98)
Kenneth Copeland : “Faith is a power force. It is a tangible force. It is a conductive force.” (The Force of Faith [Fort Worth, TX: KCP Publications, 1989], 10.)

Kenneth Copeland : “You don’t think earth was first, do you? Huh? Well, you don’t think that God made man in His image, and then made earth in some other image? There is not anything under this whole sun that’s new. Are you hearing what I’m saying? This is all a copy. It’s a copy of home. It’s a copy of the Mother Planet. Where God lives, He made a little one just like His and put us on it.” (“Following the Faith of Abraham I” [Fort Worth, TX: Kenneth Copeland Ministries, 1989], audiotape #01-3001, side 1.)

Paul Crouch, speaking to Kenneth Copeland, said : “Somebody said–I don’t know who said it–but they claim that you Faith teachers declare that we are gods. You’re a god. I’m a god. Small ‘g’ now, but we are the gods of this world. . . . Well, are you a god–small ‘g’?” To this, Jan Crouch, referring to Copeland, enthusiastically exclaimed: “He’s gonna say, ‘Yes.’ I love it.” (“Praise the Lord” program on TBN [5 February 1986].)

Paul Crouch : “He [God] doesn’t even draw a distinction between Himself and us. . . . You know what else that’s settled, then, tonight? This hue and cry and controversy that has been spawned by the Devil to try and bring dissension within the body of Christ that we are gods. I am a little god! . . . I have His name. I’m one with Him. I’m in covenant relation. 1 am a little god! Critics, be gone!” (“Praise the Lord” program on TBN [7 July 1986].)

Frederick K.C. Price : “God can’t do anything in this earth realm except what we, the body of Christ, allow Him to do. Now that statement is so–that’s so–that’s so foreign and so contrary to tradition that, like I said, if they could get their hands on me right now most evangelicals would burn me at the stake and dismember me and feed me to the crocodiles, because they’ll consider that statement to be just heresy.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN [1 May 1992], audiotape #PR11.) Cf. chapter 6, 85.

Kenneth Copeland : “Adam was made in the image of God. He was as much female as he was male. He was exactly like God. Then God separated him and removed the female part. Woman means ‘man with the womb.’ Eve had as much authority as Adam did as long as they stayed together.” (Sensitivity of Heart [Fort Worth, TX: KCP Publications, 1984], 23.)

Kenneth Copeland : “I was shocked when I found out who the biggest failure in the Bible actually is….The biggest one is God….I mean, He lost His top-ranking, most anointed angel; the first man He ever created; the first woman He ever created; the whole earth and all the Fullness therein; a third of the angels, at least–that’s a big loss, man. . . . Now, the reason you don’t think of God as a failure is He never said He’s a failure. And you’re not a failure till you say you’re one.” (“Praise-a-Thon” program on TBN [April 1988].)

John Avanzini : “Jesus had a nice house, a big house–big enough to have company stay the night with Him at the house. Let me show you His house. Go over to John the first chapter and I’II show you His house. . . . Now, child of God, that’s a house big enough to have company stay the night in. There’s His house.” (“Believer’s Voice of Victory” program on TBN [20 January 1991].)

John Avanzini : “Jesus was handling big money because that treasurer He had was a thief. Now you can’t tell me that a ministry with a treasurer that’s a thief can operate on a few pennies. It took big money to operate that ministry because Judas was stealing out of that bag.” (“Praise the Lord” program on TBN [15 September 1988].)

John Avanzini : “John 19 tells us that Jesus wore designer clothes. Well, what else you gonna call it? Designer clothes–that’s blasphemy. No, that’s what we call them today. I mean, you didn’t get the stuff He wore off the rack. It wasn’t a one-size-fits-all deal. No, this was custom stuff. It was the kind of a garment that kings and rich merchants wore. Kings and rich merchants wore that garment.” “Believer’s Voice of Victory” program on TBN [20 January 1991].)

.Frederick K C. Price : “The Bible says that He [Jesus] had a treasurer–a treasury (they called it “the bag”); that they had one man who was the treasurer, named Judas Iscariot; and the rascal was stealing out of the bag for three-and-a-half years and nobody knew that he was stealing. You know why? Because there was so much in it, He couldn’t tell. Nobody could tell that anything was missing. If He had three oranges in the bottom of the bag and he stole two of them, don’t tell me He wouldn’t know that some was missing. Beside that, if Jesus didn’t have anything, what do you need a treasury for? A treasury is for surplus. It’s not for that which you’re spending. It’s only for surplus–to hold it until you need to spend it. Therefore, He must have had a whole lot that needed to be held in advance that He wasn’t spending. So He must have had more than He was living on.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN [23 November 1990].)

John Avanzini : ‘You don’t think these Apostles didn’t walk around with money? I mean, they had money. I just thank God that I saw this and gave up the denominational line and got on God’s line before I starved me and all my family to death. Go to Acts 24. 1 mean. you don’t think there wasn’t money in this Paul’s life!. . . Paul had the kind of money that people, that government officials, would, would block up justice to try to get a bribe out of old Paul.” (“Believer’s Voice of Victory” program on TBN [20 January 1991].)

Kenneth Copeland : “That Word of the living God went down into that pit of destruction and charged the spirit of Jesus with resurrection power! Suddenly His twisted, death-wracked spirit began to fill out and come back to life. He began to look like something the devil had never seen before.” (“The Price of it All,” Believer’s Voice of Victory 19, 9 [September 1991]:4.)

Kenneth Copeland : “He [Jesus] was literally being reborn before the devil’s very eyes. He began to flex is spiritual muscles. . . .Jesus was born again–the firstborn from the dead the Word calls Him–and He whipped the devil in his own backyard. He took everything he had away from him. He took his keys and his authority away from him.” (Ibid., 4-6.)

Benny Hinn : “When you say, ‘I am a Christian, you are saying, ‘I am mashiach’ in the Hebrew. I am a little messiah walking on earth, in other words That is a shocking revelation…. May I say it like this? You are a little god on earth running around.” (“Praise-a-Thon” program on TBN [6 November 1990].)

I think enough has been said, sadly millions of people give their hard earned money to these wolves in sheep clothing, believing that all they teach will get them to heaven, but it is another gospel and another gospel cannot save anyone! Galatians 1:6-9 says it all, There is only one Gospel, and the prosperity gospel is not the one

By Michael Houke

The Word of faith is a dangerous heresy.  This video is from a man who went through this teaching and came out.  It shows quite clearly that  Rhema Bible college is a heretical teaching that centres on self.  Man and not God is what pushes this teaching.  It puts the power of self and what a person speaks at the centre of a persons life and not God.  Man becomes God and God becomes mans slave,  It cannot be emphesised enough that the Word of faith teaching is not Biblical Christianity.

This is copied from an article by Peter Glover on the testimony of  Mark Haville.  Posted as given because it is an excelent testimony and needs to be aired.

Mark Haville’s is an extraordinary story. Converted into the Pentecostal/Charismatic church he quickly came under the spell of the Word-Faith teaching of men like Kenneth Copeland. But things did not stay that way for Mark…

Still in his mid-20’s, Mark became an itinerant minister travelling the country earning large sums of money through his ability to perform ‘signs and wonders’. Remarkably, he has

renounced his former life, his beliefs, and his practices as a Word-Faith minister and is now speaking out boldly against the beliefs and practices of the current Signs and Wonders movement.

(Note: In the text ‘EN’ refers to Evangelicals Now, and ‘MH’ refers to Mark Haville. ‘PG’ is Peter Glover)

EN: “How did you first get involved with Word Faith teaching?”

I was given lots of tapes and books by Kenneth Copeland which everyone was into at my church in North London. I believed that my Christian experience could validate my faith. It convinced me that what I was in was real. I was impressed by the numbers involved, their interest in the media, publications, the money and the general trappings of success – it bred the belief in me that biggest must be best.

EN: “What was the most appealing aspect of Word Faith teaching for you?”

The Word Faith movement offered me power, what I believed to be a convincing testimony to the reality of God. It gave me support because I could show ‘things’ by preaching and performing. I was given numerous videos, audios and literature. All that I was given appeared glossy and successful.

EN: “How did you use what you saw in this material?”

so-called signs and wonders.

Basically, I copied it. I learned gradually to do what all these speakers like Copeland, Cerullo, Benny Hinn and others do. They manipulate audiences and individuals simply by the power of suggestion. They call the result ‘signs and wonders’. They are deluded. Gradually, I too had learned the process of controlling meetings and inducing hypnotic techniques through suggestion in churches. I did many of the

(PG: I was shown a video of a meeting held at a Pentecostal fellowship in Leeds being run by Mark. He explained the staged process of audience manipulation as things progressed. After a long period of singing what Mark described as ‘relaxing’ Spirit-focused songs, he appeared to be able to blow individuals over at will. They then

remained on the ground for long periods – what is commonly termed ‘slaying in the spirit’).

EN: “You maintain then that you were able to induce an atmosphere that was conducive to hypnotic suggestion?”

Absolutely. The techniques are no different to those used by any practising hypnotist. First, the people in these meetings are already coming with high expectancy – they want it to be God. Second, you need to create the right atmosphere – hence the long periods of singing certain types of songs to make people feel relaxed and warm.

1.Word-Faith preaches a gospel of personal wealth which can be obtained through the ‘force of faith’. Spiritual power is thus generated through ‘faith’. God’s sovereign will is effectively overridden by this ‘force of faith’, effecting eternal spiritual laws to which God Himself is subject. PG.

2. Research carried out in 1994 amongst a number of Christians from many different backgrounds revealed that almost 100% believed the ‘Word-Faith’ message is merely the gospel plus healing and prosperity on demand. None of those surveyed had any idea of the depth of heresy and extent of error in this movement. (Extract from ‘The Faith Movement May Be Prospering But Is It Healthy?’, by Stuart St. John: 95 pence booklet available from Reachout Trust, 24 Ormond Road, Richmond, England).

J. Lee Grady is contributing editor of Charisma  magazine wrote an article recently called

Say Goodbye to the Untouchable Preachers

There is no way we can know how many unbelievers rejected the gospel because they saw the church supporting quacks who swaggered, bragged, lied, flattered, bribed, stole and tearfully begged their way into our lives—while we applauded them and sent them money.”

For the most part the article was very good.  It was sound enough and yet I have my issues with it.

While we have all been naming names, some have had NO clue just how deep the corruption went.  How many would have questioned John piper until his invitation to Warren.    It’s true that Lee Grady should have named names, which he has not.  You can’t point to corruption without first  revealing where that corruption is.  Its like saying the water in the tap is poisonous, but which tap is the poison in.  Because many have failed to name names it has allowed people to assume that all the taps as poisonous.  So the true ministers of the gospel have sometimes been  labeled with the false.  We must separate and reveal where  this corruption exists.  If that means naming names then we have to name names.

In one sense Grady is pointing the right direction, even if it does not go far enough.  It’s also true that these preachers are where they are because they were funded by naive and foolish people who may or may not have been saved.   It is also true we will never know just how many would not drink for any tap just because some  were poisonous.

We have shouted on the house tops about these preachers for years.  We have been maligned and ridiculed as stupid.  Touching the Lord anointed.  We have pushed and shoved, naming names and generally been thought of as trouble makers.   It’s nice to see that maybe the message many of us have been preaching for years is beginning to be heard.

It is understandable that many like Benny , Copeland ,Warren, Oral Roberts ,  Rory Wendy Alec, Robert Schuller,  Crefo Dollar and a whole host of other names were never saved , for had they been their theology would have matched the word of God.   But there were others like Tony Compolo, John Piper,Charles Colson,  Jimmy Swaggard, Jim Bakker, Tammy faye , Ted  Haggard (the man who claimed he over repented) and many others whose ministries have befallen error or Moral corruption.  Yet many were considered orthodox and conservative at the time.  Sometimes a weed look like a flower at the beginning, but left untouched will take over a whole garden.  Many hope for orthodoxy.  Many foolishly believed the promises that these preachers made.    Many never saw or discerned the character of those involved.  For others they could not begin to realise the utter depth of corruption which was taking place.    Even Copeland and Hagin at the beginning of their ministry looked and sounded orthodox and the prosperity gospel was just a novel new idea.  But the weed was allowed to grow.  There was no one that could reach them and weed out the corruption.  But as we now see they were never saved to start with.  It is foolish to believe that they were saved but it took time to discern this.  For others it was fairly easy.  People got wrapped up in the promises of health and wealth.  But the gospel only worked in one direction upward.  Money was accumulated until the prosperity teachers had their big houses, jewels, lavish lifestyles and private Jets.  They could point to themselves as proof that their gospel  worked.    But people failed to realise that it worked because others were paying for it.  The give and you will get gospel only works for those to whom you give it.  But the returns never materialise.  How many prayer partners are running around in Rolls Royce cars, big sea-side mansions, and living in the top hotels in the country.  The allusion of prosperity for many was but a make belief bubble, a Disney experience that sounds good until someone pops it with a needle in the guise of a credit card bill, which you used to finance some prosperity pimp and you don’t have the money to pay for it.

How many were heavily involved in churches that sounded orthodox until the pastor came back from some conference.  He is all fired up and with it comes a new novel idea.  People place their trust in their pastor whom they respect and have known for years.  But the new novel ideas bring corruption and spiritual death in its wake.  We see Christians confused and broken.  They are told to conform or get out.  Friends suddenly become enemies.  E very fibre of your being tells you its wrong doctrine, another spirit at work.  You can see it for what it is.  Yet friends look and with scorn you are told don’t judge, don’t question the pastor, don’t touch the LORDS anointed.  They dance and praise, shake, laugh and fall over with drunkenness.  Yet the witness says don’t touch it, get out and don’t look back.  It takes a bravery born of King David at times to wade through the darkness and troubles.    You doubt and question, yet your love for truth will not let you rest in anything but the truth.  You meet these same church friends in the high street and suddenly instead of a handshake they cross the road to avoid you.  You become the object of whispers and lies.  But I have known these people for years and yet they can’t see what to you is so obvious.    They now preach another gospel which the Bible clearly rejects, but you are told that God is not confined and is doing a new thing.  You try to remind them that the Bible is God inspired and his word never changes.  You are looked at as if you have just crawled out of some rock.  An alien has landed and dropped you off.

You are told that God is not confined to a Box, the box being the Bible.  You tell them about prophecy and how many will come to reject the Bible for doctrines of demons.  But for all the good you might as well have been talking to a wall.

Time is always the enemy of false prophecies and false prophets.  But time is also the enemy of the false believer as well.  The number of those who I once called friends and brothers in Christ who now walk a different path grieves me.  There is no easy answer in this matter.  If our love for truth is greater than our friendship then we must weave goodbye and follow the one who gives us his truth.

The most wicked aspect is that promises which were made came with the full knowledge that the promises could not be kept.  Books were published to make money with no genuine concern for the truth.  They flogged their spurious ideas in the name of Christ, but their ideas pointed nowhere near the truth.

Derek Prince in his last book “Curses and blessings” revealed his WOF connections with a gospel that was an utter betrayal of the truth, a final legacy of error and greed.  In the end making money became more important than the truth.    Was this man deceived or a deceiver?   Prince will always be known as the man who brought in the doctrine of shepherding.  It continued to cause untold harm and misery long after he tried to wash his hands of it.  Like Pontius Pilate there was not enough water to wash his guilt away.

Lee Grady says” Say Goodbye to the Untouchable Preachers”, the truth is they were never untouchable.  These preachers got away with so much because people covered up for them and hid the truth from their own Hearts.  People were swayed by their own greed and selfishness.  These prostitutes of the gospel simply took advantage.  They sold their sin and people bought into it.  Only eternity will reveal the true cost.
