Benny Hinn is not a teacher but a deceiver.

Over the years Benny Hinn has managed to come out with some of the most remarkable predictions and statements known within Christendom.  From the belief that there are nine persons within the trinity to daring to place curses upon  people who dare to disagree with his ministry, all of which failed miserably.

He has grown rich at the expense of the truth, and remains in my opinion one of the most dubious characters goingBenny Hinn holy spirit

In a more recent event which can be found on YOUTUBE we have a set of three tapes entitled :

Pastor Benny Hinn – Teaching on the Holy Spirit (parts 1-3)

I have tried to quote some of his most unusual statement from his three-part  sermon.  The only real redeeming quality of all three can be found in the third tape where he appears to reject the word of faith teaching on positive confession.   Where he recounts a story of a woman dying from cancer but refuses to confess she was.  Benny gets her to confess the truth about her ailment and of course the moral of the story is she confesses and gets healed.  How true this story is I don’t know. But it may highlight the fact just how much that the campaign against this teachings is getting through, and some of those who formally embraced it  like Benny are now trying to distance themselves from it.

As this is a set of three tapes, I have drawn upon some of the basic statements on his teaching on the Holy Spirit.  We will see that Benny still has no real understanding of the Trinity now as he did when he quoted his famous nine persons in the trinity statement.

Hinn blasphemy to say the least is both remarkable and ongoing.  Neither gifted with understanding or having the faintest clue about Biblical doctrine, I suspect he simply makes it up as he goes along.   He continues as all Word of Faith teachers do, misquote and misinterpret scripture to formulate their own bizarre ideas

Part 1 of three part tape

One of the supremely important revelations of the Bible has to do with Gods nature…the Bible unfolds a mystery that we could not know through no other source but the Bible…. What is that mystery… the mystery is that God is both one and three… Father son and Holy Spirit… one of the most profound revelations has to do with the person and work  of the Holy Spirit… When you discover that the Holy Spirit is the presence of God everywhere.  Turn to Jer 23: 23  (Benny Hinn)

Jer 23: 23-24  [Am] I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?  Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

The Holy Spirit is that limitless of power in the Godhead…… we must understand without the Holy Spirit God the father would not know what is happening on this planet.  I have just said something to wake you up….. without the Holy Spirit  even  (3:59)  Without the  HOLY SPIRIT  even God the father does not know what is happening inside of you…. Important even to the Father himself (someone reads out Jer 23: 23-24)  How does God fill the  heaven and earth…the answer is in Pslam 139: 1 (Benny Hinn)

Ps 139: 1-7 [[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.]] O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known [me]. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.  Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted [with] all my ways. For [there is] not a word in my tongue, [but], lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. [Such] knowledge [is] too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot [attain] unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

V7 … that verse unlocks the whole chapter. (Benny Hinn)

There are three main attributes to God which we want to look at :

Omniscience ( all-knowing).

Omnipresence (abides everywhere)

Omnipotence (all-powerful.)

Take any one of these away and God is denigrated and he ceases to be the God of the Bible.  For the Father to not know what’s going on without the help of the Holy Spirit implies a limitation on his knowledge and his omnipresence and thus strikes at the third all in one go.  The Father is then denigrated to a lesser position and the Holy Spirit is elevated above the father.  Otherwise the Holy Spirit is greater because he has the attributes that the father does not have.

Jer 23 does not say the only way God the Father knows anything is because of the Holy Spirit.  Jeremiah 23 makes it clear that the LORD which is a collective name for God is present everywhere.  He is neither limited nor constrained in knowledge his presence or his power.

Ps 139 on a single verse which mentions the word spirit and presence is immediately jumped upon to the exclusion of other verses.  It must be reminded that God is a spirit and the Psalmist is referring to God himself.

(part 2)

1.36 Holy Spirit is the agent through whom God knows everything and is everywhere by the spirit. …. God the father through the spirit…. Only through the spirit is present everywhere….. Jesus through the spirit and only through the spirit is present everywhere…. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God the father and of presence of God the son in the whole universe.

Holy spirit is the power of creation itself!

When the word and the spirit is united creation is the result….. when the spirit and the word  become one creation is the result…. Whether in the universe or in your life……teaching on faith went off balance… for all they taught was the word…and forgot about the breath…God said let there be light only  ….only after the spirit moved…if the spirit does not move the word will not produce… there will be no results…

If the spirit does not move the word will not produce! (Benny Hinn)

Again we can see how the Holy Spirit is elevated at the cost of the Father and the Son.  Whereupon he forgets that GOD is still one God.   So where the Father goes , the son goes and so does the Holy Spirit.  There can be no thought that the father is sitting somewhere else clueless about the rest of the universe and only knows what is happening when the Holy Spirit reports to him.

To say that the word Jesus will not produce anything unless the Breath Holy Spirit moves is unscriptural.  In creation they acted as ONE.  To place a greater emphasis on one to the detriment of the other is to do great disservice to the truth.

Heb 1: 3  Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Heb 1: 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands

The Father and the Son are not independent third parties whose dependence on a third to get things done.  There are ONE united being.

Part 3

The Bible says clearly ….the Holy Spirit is the active agent  of the godhead on this planet…..There is a mystery as to why… only one of the godhead can be present  at one time on the earth… one day find out…. God the father was active when Moses and the children of Israel  came out of Egypt….Only God the father was on the planet … was seen visibly with the eye on mt Sinai… For a short time God the son was on the earth….Only God the son….now we are living in that season where only the Holy Spirit is living on the planet….God the father and God the son is not here right now… God the father and God the son are in heaven right now… God the Holy Ghost is living on this planet right now.  (Benny Hinn)

Lets stop here for a moment Benny says that it’s the Holy Spirit that’s the presence of God and it’s the Holy Spirit that’s everywhere. And its only the Holy Spirit that knows what’s going on at anytime of the day.  If the Holy Spirit is everywhere why did he cease to be everywhere when the Father was on the earth?  This my friend is a clear contradiction on Benny’s part.

Col 2: 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

This verse makes it clear that the godhead did indeed dwell in Jesus in their fullness.  There can be no teaching that Jesus was somehow left to fend for himself alone without God himself being present.

So the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit were very active in the life of Jesus.

But it gets worse????

Benny says that the Father and the son are not living on the planet at this moment.  Oh really maybe Jesus would have something to say on this matter.

If only one member of the trinity can live on the earth at any given time   why does scripture give us these verses?

Col 1: 27 To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

John 14: 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him

2 Cor 6: 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

If we have the Holy Spirit here now , why does it not also say that CHRIST IN US IS NOW THE HOPE OF GLORY , because we would have two .  Plus Jesus himself says that the Father and Jesus would come and dwell within the believer.  Now does that not make three?  Three makes ONE triune GOD.

Now God is not some schizophrenic creature with one part over there and one part over here.  Whilst there seems to be order within the godhead of Father Son and Holy Spirit, each has a responsibility within the believer’s life.  They do and act as one.   Where the father is the son is and where they are the Holy Spirit is also.  Just as creation was the product of all three, so was the resurrection of Jesus the work of all three, and the abiding presence of the triune God abides within the Believers life. We cannot elevate the Holy Spirit above the father as this would be prejudice to the spirit and truth of scripture.

According to Benny when God the father brought out the Hebrew Children , The father alone was on the earth.  Lets see if that is true or not.

When Moses led the children out of Egypt we also see: .

Is 63 : 10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] he fought against them

1 Cor 10: 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Whoops that’s means we had the father Son and Holy Spirit present at the same time.  That makes Benny Hinn a False teacher of the highest quality.  If he cannot look to scripture as sola basis for truth and expound from theories which he derives out of his own imagination, its high time people realise Benny Hinn is no Christian minister.

Acts 16: 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as [he did] unto us;

Mat 9: 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts.

There can be no doctrine that sees the Holy Spirit as being omnipresent and the Father and the son is limited to some outpost of heaven.  That is not the God of the Bible.

Well done. Why do so many think it so uncharitable to speak the plain truth about an obvious false teacher? It’s not loving or gracious or kind to let a false prophet go on and on without anyone dutifully, faithfully and responsibly refuting them (Titus 1:9). The Bible repeatedly warns us that many false teachers will arise – how shall we know them? By their doctrine and by their fruit (their lives). Benny Hinn and so many associated with TBN are not believers. May God have mercy in the midst of spreading apostasy. Read the “woes” of Jesus in Matthew 23 and His warnings to the Churches in Rev. 2 & 3, not to mention the Pastoral Epistles, the other epistles, the Gospels, the book of Acts and the OT prophets. Sadly, many who listen to a guy like Benny Hinn aren’t all that interested in listening to a static (in their mind) old book – they want the dynamism of a present word from God – and false teachers like Benny are quick to tickle their ears with plenty.

Thanks for the post – hope it’s read widely.
