There is a bridge ahead which you know is down.  Below is a fast running river that will take all who fall into it into a Christless eternity.  You stand on the verge screaming shouting waving with frantic appeals to the oncoming traffic.   As they pass you can see their faces and expressions.  You glimpse momentarily a snapshot of their lives.  Their faces laughing at a joke someone has told, others enjoying the music from a local radio station: Kids playing in the back seat: others the odd kindly argument and banter.  They rush pass ignoring the screams and waving.

Pro 16: 25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death

Some as they pass wind their side windows down  only to shout abuse and accuse you of hatred.  They shake their fists violently at you.  How dare you interupt their peaceful journey.

You try with great desperation to warn and explain.   You try to point to the stark reality of a collapsed bridge and the ford below.  You try your best to explain that there is another narrower road but it’s a safer road.  It will lead to safety.  But the windows are soon wound up and they proceed onwards.

But more and more the traffic ignores your shouting and frantic weaving.  Occasionally a car turns to take the narrower road.  But by far the majority of the traffic heads down to the bridge and over the edge.  You can almost hear their frantic screams.  You remember their faces.  That’s the red car with the lady wearing a brown top,  Or the black convertible with a man who had some crazy beads hanging from his mirror.   You stand wondering as car after car is rushed  down the torrent river into an abyss.  WHY oh WHY will they not listen.  Was it their destiny to take this road?  Was I not loud enough or bold enough?    It’s their faces you remember, the snapshot of individuals which for a moment you entered their lives before they pass you by. There is a brief  memory of this or that face.  The anguish of knowing that at the last moment the full horror of their mistake will dawn upon them.  The final realisation of what is to come.  The ultimate knowledge that there is no turning back,  and they have sealed their own fate.  All the bravado fist shaking, abuse and accusations of hatred and stinking pride no longer matters.

Mat 7: 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find

But what makes all this so difficult is that you know where they are going.  There is a darkness, a futility not of a day or a week or a month, but for an eternity.  As they pass you can see in many faces the hardening resolve to across the bridge.

It seems that your cries instead of being a deterrent, becomes the means to encourage  and harden ones resolve on a road that will only lead to futility and ruin.  The message is ignored, and the waving despised.

There are two roads and two eternal destinies.

For one is the security of the narrow road upon which there is a narrow bridge which Gods own son Jesus Christ bridges.  By far the most secure bridge there is.  It can cross that chasm and into the warm embrace of a fathers love.  It becomes the ever-loving delight of children in the comfort of a parents embrace; The security and knowledge that we have finally made it home; There will be a joy and a peace that will never fade or disappoint.

However for those who have chosen the highway with no bridge comes the futility of a terrible darkness.  No joy to comfort; no pleasant smiles of assurance; no joy or contentment;  no friendship to make their eternal state less troublesome, for they shall become the object of Gods terrible wrath.  His righteous judgement vindicated.

In my flesh I struggle to let go.  The need to grab hold of these people and hold them back from the continuation of their journey over the bridge and to futility of the ravine below.

The knowledge of what is to come becomes too fearful, too terrible to let go.

The passing faces might remind one of loved ones, or friends of long ago.  But there must also come a point of the realisation that people have chosen to make this journey.  One has to be willing to bow the head and acknowledge

  1. Henry Dansereau says:

This is nonsense. You people do not know the gospel. You are children of the devil. You are workers of iniquity.

  2. twinsistwo says:

Thank God I am not the only one who feels this anguish and it truly humbles my heart. Why can I hear and they not? Why do I love Him so and they do not? God bless your ministry and the words of truth you write and may you see the souls you rescue with truth.

  3. God is a god of love and his mercy endureth forever. God said that the soul who sins shall die, not live forever in hell. This is a false teaching that far too many Christians accept without checking the facts. For humans to be tormented in hell forever would be like a Disneyland for demons. Would God allow this? But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 86:15) Neither is God schizophrenic.

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20)

We are told to search the scriptures carefully to find the truth about things. Please see this short article which helps to makes it clear what the Bible says:

I would not say that hell does not exist, I think it must do in some form or another, but not eternal torment in fire. Even a psychopath would baulk at the prospect of such a place and as God sees everything, He would see this too. If people were tortured like this how long it would be before they would lose their mind and then it would be a case of torturing those who are mentally ill. God is not a psychopath. Anyway why should he have to put up with such a blight on his wonderful creation due to the devil and his evil works?

    • holyghostman says:

God is fully justified because he has given everyone a equal chance to escape hell. He has offered up his only begotten son jesus. Yes my friend there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. If someone shot your mother or raped your daughter would you want a righteous judge to say oh that’s okay just don’t let it happen again. God is a god of love but he is a righteous judge. Hell was created for the devil and his angels not us but we choose to go there by rejecting christ.

  4. Truth in Reality says:

“holyghostman” sorry but that is nonsense. Just as a for instance, I have been researching my family tree and as I am one-quarter solidly Jewish, there are some on my tree who perished in the holocaust, including old men and women, middle-aged, young and children. Now you tell me how they could have an equal chance to learn about Jesus? There were many false teachers at that time like Aimee McPherson and others, who although some of the things they were saying were true, they were not right in many respects. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, but be not many teachers for they will receive the greater condemnation.

What is more the way Christians talk and behave, Jews would find it difficult to believe they have the same God. Please read Romans 11 and then go talk to a person familiar with the Jewish faith and you will find out that is true.

    • holyghostman says:

John 3:16 says that who soever believes will not perish but have ever lasting life. When god delt with the Jewish people he delt with them as a whole. Christ was sent to the Jews but they rejected him except only but a few. They then became blinded thus when the time of the gentiles is over the scales will fall off. And they will see clearly there is only one way for them to escape Hades and that is Jesus. The Jews for Jesus is a prime example. I love the Jew but I can’t sugar coat the message. Jesus paid horrible price so we could escape hades. It is a narrow road to eternal life but a broad road to destruction.

  5. Truth in Reality says:

Yes it is a broad road to destruction and you are on it, “holyghostman”.

Why aren’t you working out YOUR salvation in fear and trembling?.

You have not given a proper answer to my question, which quite possibly indicates an inadequate understanding of the situation. In other words, even you probably won’t agree, it seems you are not qualified to enlighten others about this subject.

Why don’t you read the Bible and then you can teach others what it says.

Start with Romans 11 and you will see that you have just said a load of baloney.

Do you know about the holyghost? The Bible describes the holy ghost so we can know, and that certainly is not the holy ghost talking through you.

As someone asked me once, then if it’s not the Holy Spirit, then what exactly is it?

A good question. There is an article about the Holy Spirit here which I would strongly suggest you read:

God hates false teaching and I suggest you also read this article:

    • holyghostman says:

Truth thank for the word of encouragement but it doesn’t change the word of god. When we change the word of god like the word of faith it simply doesnt work. I’m not going to give you my pedegree except I am a blood washed Christian and it is only threw the cross of christ l have eternal life. U.c. ministries is a great web site so try and investigate it. Remember Jesus never changes nor does his word.

  6. Truth in Reality says:

I cannot encourage false teaching nor people who teach the doctrine of eternal torment in hellfire.

I will encourage you to search the scriptures daily, as did the Bereans, to find out if these things are true.

Research the word of God, history of the Bible, the translations, the Catholic Vulgate and then teach others.

We are supposed to call out false teachers, but not be one ourselves.

Yes people are queuing up to have their ears tickled, while few people want to hear the truth.

The soul that sins shall DIE.

Cast into hellfire = the SECOND death.

Although make no mistake there is a hell, and it is terrible, it is not eternal hellfire,

I don’t want to discourage anyone who wants to stand up for the truth, and count myself among them, but just make sure that you are teaching the truth.

Find out what the real truth is, for yourself, not just listening to what you have heard other people say, and then teach it!

  7. Truth in Reality says:

    Here’s a good explanation:

I don’t say that this explanation is 100% correct, but it’s a great deal better than many.

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of DEATH.”

Now does that say eternal torment in HELLFIRE, or does it say DEATH?

There is just an eency weency bit of difference, don’t you think?

    • holyghostman says:

The rich man wanted lazzardus to dip his finger on his tongue but it wasn’t possible. If we do find our self rejecting Christ we will find our self in hades. Hell is accually gehenna. The Lake of fire. in the old testimate we find the word shoel the grave. But it doesn’t stop there because we have a eternal sole. Your will ,emotions, your five physical senses. You have a spirit and that is what becomes born-again. John 3-3. Your body is what dies. Your sole goes to either heaven or hell. Your spirt goes back to god. Now actually when Jesus died on the cross he went to hades and there are three parts to it. The punishment side where the richman was. The righteous bode of the dead where Abraham and the old testament saints were. And tarsus where the spirits were bound in chains. He defeated satan not only on the cross but also in hell he made a open showing of the devil. Now let me give you a testimony. When I was 18yrs old I wound of in intensive care from a motor cycle accident. For three days I fought for my life. Demons were trying to take me to hell. But praise god the Lord won out and my spirit came back into my body. Would I of went to hell? Well I don’t know but this I do know with out Christ I would have no chance. .
