Sons of God and daughters of men Genesis 6 : Why did God judge the world?

Not as God planned it!!

Many respected scholars feel that Gen 6: when speaking of the sons of God cannot be speaking about angels.Luke 3: 38 Which was [the son] of Enos, which was [the son] of Seth, which was [the son] of Adam, which was [the son] of God

Adam was called a son of God, and as such it is conceivable that the term was applicable to more than just Adam.

Gen 6: 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose

So why were such unions vilified?

There can be only one explanation and that is COMPROMISE.  Such compromises led to the downfall of the greatest and wisest king in history Solomon, which saw treaty upon treaty resulting in marriages to ungodly daughters of kings.  Who brought with them their idols and wicked practices..   Once the door was open there was no way of shutting it.  Compromise has always led to the down fall of moral virtues, and It led to the eventual downfall if Israel.   When men’s hearts looked upon the beauty of women they lusted after them.  Moral plumb line of godliness was eroded. Men begun to abuse women and use them in much the same way as women are sold and manipulated in the porn industry today.

When God came to judge nations it was because those nations had so given themselves over to their wickedness everyone was effected by it.  Had Gods not laid his hand upon them they would eventually have affected everyone around them including Israel.  The need to put away such wicked practices cannot be overstated.  The fundamental question before Abraham was how many truly righteous people were left in Sodom and her sister cities.  If there were ten God would not judge.  But there were not ten, or five and even Lot own family was already affected by the wickedness of those cities

Jam 1:14   But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Jam 4: 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not

Gods original commandment to man was that he should leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife.  But instead we see men lusting after women and taking what their lusts desired.  Just as we see today that might be your neighbour’s wife.  That might even have included their children. The term daughters of men would also be applicable to girls as well as women.  Even as see today women becoming mere objects and play things sexually seduced and manipulated.  The sex trade today so they say is greater than it has ever been.  Britain has recently prosecuted a number of Asian Gangs who have forced women into sexual slavery, some as young as twelve.

Moslems wrap their women in sheets (Burkas) because they blame them for their own lusts.  Lusts which starts in the heart and what they could not have they took.   Even today we see child brides being married of to fifty year old men, children baring children and because of their youth dying. When these sons of God saw the beauty of these women they made the decision to have them, no matter what or who it hurts.  How conceivable that the strongest among them may have had many many wives to his harem.

Gen 6: 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

Is it so strange the men fired by their lusts dwelt on what they should not have?  If it meant another mans wife and the husband objected.  The bravest wins the lot.  Men devising scheming fighting and Killing

In a more recent controversial piece of news from the AL ARABIYA NEWS

Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) has appealed to the Islamist-dominated parliament not to approve two controversial laws on the minimum age of marriage and allowing a husband to have sex with his dead wife within six hours of her death according to a report in an Egyptian newspaper. The appeal came in a message sent by Dr. Mervat al-Talawi, head of the NCW, to the Egyptian People’s Assembly Speaker, Dr. Saad al-Katatni, addressing the woes of Egyptian women, especially after the popular uprising that toppled president Hosni Mubarak in February 2011. She was referring to two laws: one that would legalize the marriage of girls starting from the age of 14 and the other that permits a husband to have sex with his dead wife within the six hours following her death.

According to Egyptian columnist Amro Abdul Samea in al-Ahram, Talawi’s message included an appeal to parliament to avoid the controversial legislations that rid women of their rights of getting education and employment, under alleged religious interpretations.

Some Moslems have tried to pass this off because it is so morally disgusting.  Yet if the Egyptian  parliament is even debating such things, means that it must go on somewhere.  But again is this not down to men lusting after women and taking from them whatever they please, even in death.  Is it conceivable that this wickedness is exactly what took place in Noah’s time?  Can we realise that society itself was soon in conflict, s this disease of immorality began to spread.

Gen 6: 4 …………”bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown”

Where there is abusiveness within a family, especially where a young boy sees how his dad treats his mother.  Often those children grow up to be abusive as well.  They follow the example of their fathers.  So the trail of abuse continues   One generation may become worse than the last.  As the life spans of humans in those days went on for hundreds of years, there would be no slowing down of depravity among those families.  The concept that what you want you take may well have prevailed to the depraving of society as a whole.

This report on Child abuse has this to say:

Child abuse has a wide range of negative effects on society. The most damaging effect may be that of child abuse spreading itself. People who were abused as children are much more likely to end up mimicking that abusive behavior with their own children. The problems associated with child abuse will only continue and likely grow larger without active attempts to eliminate the problem.

Abusive man can also be characterised by control games, violence, jealousy and withholding sex and emotional contact.

We have broken down the top 10 signs of an abusive man. If your partner exhibits one or more of these signs, it may be time to re-evaluate your relationship and seek help or get out. 1. Jealousy & Possessiveness – Becomes jealous over your family, friends, co-workers. Tries to isolate you. Views his woman and children as his property instead of as unique individuals. Accuses you of cheating or flirting with other men without cause. Always asks where you’ve been and with whom in an accusatory manner. 2. Control – He is overly demanding of your time and must be the center of your attention. He controls finances, the car, and the activities you partake in. Becomes angry if woman begins showing signs of independence or strength. 3. Superiority – He is always right, has to win or be in charge. He always justifies his actions so he can be “right” by blaming you or others. A verbally abusive man will talk down to you or call you names in order to make himself feel better. The goal of an abusive man is to make you feel weak so they can feel powerful. Abusers are frequently insecure and this power makes them feel better about themselves. 4. Manipulates – Tells you you’re crazy or stupid so the blame is turned on you. Tries to make you think that it’s your fault he is abusive. Says he can’t help being abusive so you feel sorry for him and you keep trying to “help” him. Tells others you are unstable. 5. Mood Swings – His mood switches from aggressive and abusive to apologetic and loving after the abuse has occurred. 6. Actions don’t match words – He breaks promises, says he loves you and then abuses you. 7. Punishes you – An emotionally abusive man may withhold sex, emotional intimacy, or plays the “silent game” as punishment when he doesn’t get his way. He verbally abuses you by frequently criticizing you. 8. Unwilling to seek help – An abusive man doesn’t think there is anything wrong with him so why should he seek help? Does not acknowledge his faults or blames it on his childhood or outside circumstances. 9. disrespect women – Shows no respect towards his mother, sisters, or any women in his life. Thinks women are stupid and worthless. 10. Has a history of abusing women and/or animals or was abused himself – Batterers repeat their patterns and seek out women who are submissive and can be controlled. Abusive behavior can be a generational dysfunction and abused men have a great chance of becoming abusers. Men who abuse animals are much more likely to abuse women also.

Does some of this not sound familiar with the description found in Genesis 6 and the way these men treated their wives, and the growing levels of violence?

Prov 14: 34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin [is] a reproach to any people.

This is not just a Moslem problem, for even in the west marriage is being redefined and changed. The message that once stipulated that marriage is for life between one man and one woman has all but broken down. Now the values that once build a nation have been so eroded that people see it easier to just live together. Pornography has all but flooded the airwaves with the message of filth and immorality. It has become an open sewer that no one seems capable of plugging. Does anyone believe for a minute that what we are seeing today is somehow different from Noah’s day?

Gen 6: 6-7 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

The blame for what transpired must be laid at the door of mankind. There can be no one else to blame but mans sin and mans rebellion. No more excuses and no more blame the snake game.

Gen 6: 12-13 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
