If God is not a man then how can Jesus be God?

In debating with a number of Moslems, this was posted by Moslem women calling herself Koki Noor.  This approach is very typical of Moslems.  While it might not impress a season Christian, it could throw a wobbly for the younger ones among us.   So we will look at what she has said and what we can derive from her statement.

“JESUS SAYS GOD IS “NOT A MAN”! (Evidence from the Bible) JESUS SAYS
The Bible!) Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man” … 1 Samuel 15:29
“for he (God) is not a man   “

Moslems hate any  suggestion that Jesus was  crucified,  and will seek  any excuse to reject the reality of Jesus death.

On face value what do we see here?

The women quote two verses from the Bible and make it “seem” that the Bible actually disagrees with itself.  But how truthful is the statement?

Here are the actual verses in question.

Num 23:19 God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?.

1 Sam 15: 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he [is] not a man, that he should repent

Now the way these verses get used reveals more about the mind and thinking of the person in question.

  1. The attempt to twist scripture out of context
  2. The need to deliberately lie about the context of scripture.  They do know what they are doing.  This is no ACCIDENT.  But a deliberate attempt to deceive others.

God is not a man” / end text there and then throw in ” Neither  the son of man”/ end text.

But is that really what it says?  NO, because the context of the verse actually says

“God is not a man …. THAT HE SHOULD LIE”

“Nor the son of man …..THAT HE SHOULD REPENT”

John 20: 28-29  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

Thomas was not so doubting here was he.  Further more Jesus makes it quite clear concerning his divinity.

Most Muslims I have debated very rarely look up the verses in question let alone do a serious study of scripture.  More than often it’s a copy and paste job.  But as you can see from her actual words there is a clear attempt to lie and deceive others.  Moslems are a very deceived people, highly superstitious, and motivated in such a way that deceiving others is not an issue.  The Koran says that Allah goes out to deceive people.  If he can then there is nothing stopping them from deceiving others as well.  As Christians we are motivated by TRUTH, INTEGRITY AND HONESTY.  Moslems are not motivated in this regard.

Surah 14:4    And We never sent a messenger save with the language of his folk, that he might make (the message) clear for them. Then ALLAH SENDETH WHOM HE WILL ASTRAY, and guideth whom He will. He is the Mighty, the Wise

Contrast this with Gods admonition

Eph 4: 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Personally I can’t see the wisdom of a god that deliberately deceives and lies to people?  For how can they know that he is not already deceiving them?  It’s a piece of foolishness

If as Christian you find yourself dealing or debating with a Muslim I would say that whatever they quote, especially from the Bible.  It is important to check out the verses before and afterwards.  In fact check out the entire chapter.  It is also important to have an understanding of the HISTORY and CONTEXT to what was happening.   A little knowledge goes a long way.   It is very easy to take a single verse or a portion of a verse rip it out of context and make it say something which is does not say.  Moslems are good are this deception.  Now if you are a Bible student this foolishness is easy to be exposed.  But not all Christians are taught in scripture.

Sadly today Christians are not even getting the grounding to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Let alone challenging the cults. It’s all experience orientation, not Bible foundation.

Many Moslems will try and get past Christian defences by claiming that they were previously a Christian who has converted to a Moslem.  However these same people when asked some basic questions about the Christian faith will develop an immediate memory melt down about their former faith.  One Moslem claimed he was a missionary to Africa, When asked what missionary organisation he was involved with?

His reply was the “CIA”,  Enough said!!!!

If they are bold enough to talk about their former faith such as Yusuf  Estes.   It becomes clear they have absolutely no idea what a Christian is.

As one listens to some of Yusufs videos where he talks about his conversion, he tries to give the impression that his conclusions on Christianity came about as he travelled around with other preachers, rather than the work of a Moslem from Egypt.

To other Moslems he seems a creditable convert.  But to a Christian he is nothing more than joke.  In fact it was Yusuf whilst making the claim that fellow preachers were lying about the gospel, he himself uses the quote by Koki Noor ( God is not a man) to deceive the very people who now listen to him.  Such a simple obvious deception shows the level to which this well know Moslem will stoop in order to deceive people.  Many seriously doubt that he was ever a preacher of anything before becoming a Moslem.  If he was then he was one of the biggest charlatans in the business.

One of Yusuf’s main points that he boasts about is that the Koran has been memorized by 9 million Muslims.  But memorizing something is not the same as understanding what is said.  Just because we can get dogs to respond to a verbal command, does not mean they understand what is being said.  Whilst Moslems can repeat parrot fashion parts of the Koran,  It does not mean the parrot understands the language.  There are many conflicts contradictionsand fairy stories in their own book.  We even know where many of these fairy stories origionated from.

When someone like Yusuf  has to lie so blatantly about a few verses in scripture It only exposes the weakness of his arguments.

John 8: 44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it

Now a Moslem would argue that this only applies to a Jew and not to Moslems.  My answer is

This cap fits very well on most Moslems heads.

Moslems will always claim that they love and respect Jesus.

John 14:15 JESUS said If you love Me, you will keep My commandments”

However it soon becomes clear that they actually have a hatred for Christ, and his teachings.  Their rejection of the Crucifixion proves that.  How can they say they love Jesus and then lie and twist his word .  This does not prove a love for the things of God.  But it actually proves the very opposite.

How can a person say they love Jesus when they reject everything he teaches?  That’s just plain common sense.

John 8: 41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, [even] God

John 8: 42 Jesus said unto them, IF GOD WERE YOUR FATHER, YE WOULD LOVE ME: for I proceeded forth and came from God;  neither came I of myself, but he sent me

John 8: 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] BECAUSE YE CANNOT HEAR MY WORD

Jesus could well have had Islam in mind when he spoke these words.

Many times I am asked to prove Jesus divinity and I will post numerous verses to support that claim.  Within a few minutes these same Muslims will demand that I post scriptures TO PROVE JESUS DIVINITY.

(Note they are already posted)

I suspect this happens because they refuse to read what has been already posted.  But I have the suspicion that they will not allow themselves to see these verses. We do not battle flesh and blood but principalities and powers; there is every possibility that they are not being allowed to see them; never mind understand them.

Those who do take the time to read what has been posted, may have such deeply closed minds that they simply reject what has been posted.  To the extent that they will block out what they have just read  and then still demand answers to something which has already been answered.

Eph 4: 18-19  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in
them, because of the blindness of their heart
Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all
uncleanness with greediness.

Eph 2: 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience
