Talks on Islam: Is Muhammad the paraclete?

This was posted by a Moslem in an attempt to debate that Muhammad can be found in the Bible.    It is staggering and almost funny that on the one hand they will reject the Bible as being corrupt and the next try and use it to prove their theology.  Here we have a post trying to prove that the Comforter is Muhammad.

THAT PROPHET- PARACLETE- MUHAMMAD
Up to the time of Jesus (peace be upon him), the Israelites were still awaiting
for that prophet like unto Moses prophecied in Deuteronomy 18:18. When John the
Baptist came, they asked him if he was Christ and he said “no”. They
asked him if he was Elias and he said “no”. Then, in apparent
reference to Deuteronomy 18:18, they asked him “Art thou that
Prophet” and he answered, “no”. (John 1: 1 9-2 1).

In the Gospel according to John (Chapters 14, 15, 16) Jesus spoke of the
“Paraclete” or comforter who will come after him, who will be sent by
Father as another Paraclete, who will teach new things which the contemporaries
of Jesus could not bear. While the Paraclete is described as the spirit of
truth, (whose meaning resemble Muhammad’s famous title Al-Amin, the
trustworthy), he is identified in one verse as the Holy Ghost (John 14:26).
Such a designation is however inconsistent with the profile of that Paraclete.
In the words of the Dictionary of the Bible, (Ed. J. Mackenzie) “These
items, it must be admitted do not give an entirely coherent picture.”

Indeed history tells us that many early Christians understood the Paraclete to
be a man and not a spirit. This might explain the followings who responded to
some who claimed, without meeting the criteria stipulated by Jesus, to be the
awaited “Paraciete”.

It was Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was the Paraclete, Comforter,
helper, admonisher sent by God after Jesus. He testified of Jesus, taught new
things which could not be borne at Jesus’ time, he spoke what he heard
(revelation), he dwells with the believers (through his well-preserved
teachings). Such teachings will remain forever because he was the last
messenger of God, the only Universal Messenger to unite the whole of humanity
under God and on the path of PRESERVED truth. He told of many things to come
which “came to pass” in the minutest detail meeting, the criterion
given by Moses to distinguish between the true prophet and the false prophets
(Deuteronomy 18:22). He did reprove the world of sin, of righteousness and of
judgement (John 16:8-11)

The first thing that knocks this posting is that the comforter is identified by Jesus himself.

Jhn 14:26 But the Comforter, (paraklētos) [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach
you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you
.

The comforter is the HOLY SPIRIT>

Now  Every Jewish believer would recognise who the Holy Spirit was.  So this would dismiss any idea that the comforter was even a human physical being.  Not only that but Jesus  goes out of his way to  give a description of the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit.

Jhn 14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14: 16   And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you
for ever
;

Now Muhammad died, so there is absolutely no way can it be said that Muhammad abides with his followers forever.  It is therefore physically impossible,

How can a mere human being lived within another human being?

This would immediately dismiss any idea that Muhammad would be able to fulfil this role

The word “another:”

Have a difference in meaning, which despite a tendency to be lost, is to be observed in numerous passages. Allos expresses a numerical difference and denotes “another of the same sort;” heteros expresses a qualitative difference and denotes “another of a different sort.”
Christ promised to send “another Comforter” (allos, “another like Himself,” not heteros), Jhn 14:16. Paul says “I see a different (AV, “another”) law,” heteros, a law different from that of the spirit of life (not allos, “a law of the same sort”), Rom 7:23. After Joseph’s death “another king arose,” heteros, one of quite a different character, Act 7:18. Paul speaks of “a different gospel (heteros), which is
not another” (allos, another like the one he preached), Gal 1:6, 7. See heteros (not allos) in Mat 11:3; Act 27:1; in Luk 23:32 heteroi is used of the two malefactors crucified with Christ. The two words are only apparently interchanged in 1Cr 1:16; 6:1; 12:8-10; 14:17, 19, e.g., the difference being present, though not so readily discernible.

Was Muhammad like Jesus ?  NO!!!

Is Muhammad like the Holy Spirit?

Is 63: 10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] e fought against them

As Muhammad was not even born then it would be very doubt full that he would fill these shoes..

Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit f God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption

The same Holy Spirit is spoken of here.  Remember that Muhammad has not even been born yet.

So it would be impossible to speak of   grieving someone before they were ever born.

One of the questions a Moslem will pose as part of this debate

If the HOLY SPIRIT is already here, how can this be when Jesus said that the HOLY SPIRIT is yet to come?

However they fail to understand the ministry the Holy Spirit undertakes as the comforter within the lives of believer.  In the past the Holy Spirit only came to work within a few but not all believers.  Nor did he come to prepare and make the believer the temple of God.  God was moving from being hidden within the Holy of Holies in the temple into the lives of those who follow him.  The Holy Spirit would continue the ministry that Jesus started.    Which as Muhammad came almost 600 years later   does not qualify.  The Ministry of the Holy Spirit  started soon after Jesus rose from the grave and saw the fullness of expression in Acts 2

Jhn 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Jhn 16:14   He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you.

The work of the comforter would take what belongs to Jesus and reveal it to others.  Muhammad rejected
JESUS TEACHINGS, JESUS TESTIMONY ABOUT HIMSELF, REJECTED THE CRUCIFIXION,

Moslems claim to love Jesus.  However Jesus reminds us that if we love him we would obey what he teaches.  So anyone who rejects what Jesus teaches clearly rejects Jesus.

Muhammad Rejected Jesus teachings, The testimony of the Father, the testimony of Jesus disciples and especially  the testimony of Jesus himself.

1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

So the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the Body of Christ.  Moslems do not baptise.  Not only that but the work of the Holy Spirit
is to give us access unto the father.  Moslems don’t see Allah as a Father.    This concept is totally foreign to their understanding of Allah.   Plus they have no concept of being baptised into Jesus Christ. Mohammad who has been dead many centuries is incapable of being the means through which they can  have access to God.

Some might argue that this this refers to his teachings.  However the verse itself does not say that it is through someones teachings but by the person.  “THROUGH HIM WE HAVE….”   Not  “THROUGH HIS TEACHINGS”   The Bible makes this clear that it is through the person  we have access to God.

Rom 8: 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring the believer into full adoption as sons and daughters of God.  Full Adoption  does not exist in Islam.  Whereby a child might be looked after by a Moslem family they will never be given full adoption as the children of a Moslem family.  They will always be seperated by birth.  However as believers we do recieve full adoption.  In this sense I can call God “daddy” and get away with it.  However no such concept exists in Islam for adopted children.

The Bible uses a number of expression to what the Ministry of the Holy Spirit achieves in the believer.  Whereby once we were not a people we are now the people of God.  Terms such as  “BORN AGAIN”  “GRAFFTED”   Once we were aliens seperated from God but now we have access by the work of the Holy Spirit as sons and daughters of the living God.

Eph 2: 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

John 15: 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of
the world, therefore the world hateth you.

In response to a debate that there was no sex in heaven this was the response from some Moslems.  NO names are shown.,

This was my answer to the question

NOPE!!! There is no sex in heaven. So some boys are going to get very disappointed.
Heaven is going to be a completely different perspective to how things down
here work
.

This was there’s

1        of course sex for men in heaven and women or u think he will give theim water and wine?   hhhhhhhhhh mean just
men in earth or heaven hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

2         u r not man if u acccpt that        hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

3         ignore preachers let theim talking no need to wist ur time with tehim no sex in heaven joking hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

4         pure ,then why the virgin boys waiting at hand, Why virgin little boys. You know a nice massage can be sensual
too

5        Samuel, as vulgar as the bible’s solomon ?, NO nothing beats that besides the Karma Sutra

Jesus makes it clear that there was a difference between those who were of this world and those who were from above.  Muhammad birthed a cult that was very much founded around sex and sensuality.  Having married  9 years old at the age of 50.  Today Muhammad would be arrested as a pedophile?   He was very much of this world.  But true believers are becoming part of another world.   Muhammad tried to establish a physical kingdom through conquest, whilst Jesus made it clear his kingdom was not of this world.  The difference between Muhammad and Jesus is obvious.

These poor Moslems have absolutely no idea that the world to come is a very different world that what we see and experience today.
To them comes the promise of 70 odd perpetual virgins in paradise where rivers of wine flow.  Its sex ,sex and more sex.

Math 22: 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

There will simple be no more need for procreation of the species.  The motivation in the world to come will be absolutely different.  As it says they are off this world and true Bible believers are becoming part of another world.  Our motivation will one day be  spiritual .  It is primary the work of the Holy Spirit to prepare the believer for the world to come.

All of this shows that Muhammad does not qualify for the job

The earliest documented Christian knowledge of Muhammad stems from Byzantine sources. They indicate that both Jews and Christians saw Muhammad as a deceiving prophet, or at least certain circles did. In the Doctrina Jacobi nuper baptizati of 634, Muhammad is portrayed as being “deceiving[,] for do prophets come with sword and chariot?, […] you will discover nothing true from the said prophet except human bloodshed.”[30] Another Greek source for Muhammad is the 9th-century writer  Theophanes. The earliest Syriac source is the 7th-century writer John bar Penkaye.[31]

Is Muhammad like the Holy Spirit?  NO!!!!

The fact that the Holy Spirit came shortly  after Jesus was resurrected and Mohammad did not appear for at least six hundred years later would also disqualify him from the Job.

  2. Shebul says:

The original Bible was not in English by the way it was in Hebrew then transalted to Enlish thousands of years later so the bible today is not as accurate as the one 2000 yrs ago. Words like paraklēte can not be accuratly translated as holy ghost. tell me somthing what new message did the so called holy spirit bring after Jesus (PBUH). You guys restrict yourselfs from getting married to the opposite sex thats is why bishops & Clergys become homosexuals and Pedophiles because there desires take over

  3. Ali Sufian says:

John14:23 clearlindictes thatthose who love me wil obey my teaching and hose who do not love me will not obey my teachigs. 99% of Christians today eat Pork which is 4 tmes NOT ALLOWED in Bible. Therefore, eaters of Pork do nt have any more right to speakor defend bible.
