Birds Fall From the Sky in Arkansas?

REPORTS HAVE EMERGED THAT WILDLIFE IN THE ARKANSANS ARE HAVE SUDDENLY AND MYSTERIOUSLY DIED.  RUMOURS ABOUND AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THIS NEWS REPORT.  WE WILL HOPEFUL BE ABLE TO   PROVIDE THE REAL REASON AS SOON AS WE CAN.

Five thousand birds fell from the sky just as Arkansans were ringing in the New Year–and so far, no one is exactly sure why. The little avian casualties all happened in a one-mile area of Beebe, a town of less than 5,000 about 40 miles northeast of Little Rock. Officials have rounded up most of the bodies of the blackbirds and starlings, which will begin undergoing tiny autopsies Monday.

Workers are going door-to-door to collect the last fallen feathery friends stranded on rooftops and in backyards, CNN reports.

  • Maybe It Was Fireworks, CNN’s Lexie Clinton offers. Officials say the birds could have been literally scared to death by New Year’s Eve fireworks. But one local ranger told CNN he’d never seen so many scared so badly at once.   ……………………….. UNLIKLY!
  • Or Weather, ornithologist Karen Rowe told CNN. Sometimes a flock can be taken out by a lightning strike, or hail at high altitudes. Since there were no deaths at a local roost, something had to have happened to them mid-air……………………………POSSIBLY
  • Or Noxious Fumes, biologist Reese Halter told MSNBC, as noted by New York’s Mike Lensky . “Flocks do come down, whether from noxious fumes or cold weather… There’s death everywhere.”
  • Or a Sonic Boom, “conspiracy theorists” say, according to MSNBC. In less science-y times, the mysterious events were thought to be the work of evil spirits. In modern times, people blame the military. Likewise, commenter eLwood writes on the Arkansas Times’ blog, “I’m thinking sub-sonic boom the military has been testing and denying they have such a weapon. A West Coast friend who is researching the Mena Airport-Secret Alien base story says it could have been chemical warfare…a super fast dispersal of chemicals that causes sudden freezes. When anything flies through it instant freezing. Thaw can occur during the fall. But he’s kinda wacky sometimes.”………………..ASLO A POSSIBILITY, BUT THEN PEOPLE WOULD HAVE REPORTED SUCH A Probably The Apocalypse, Gawker’s Max Read writes. Noting that 100,000 fish died days earlier in the Arkansas River 125 miles from the dead bird zone, Read writes, “So if anyone is wondering where, exactly, Jesus is going to show up: It’s Arkansas

IT WOULD SEEM THAT THIS YEAR HAS STARTED OFF WITH A BANG.  WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO EFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND ITS WILDLIFE?  I WILL HOPEFULLY KEEP EVERYONE ABREAST OF WHAT IS HAPPENING.  ANY NEWS LET US KNOW.

It was also reported:

Many of the birds suffered injuries from striking the ground, but it was not clear whether they were alive when they hit. A few grackles and a couple of starlings were also among the dead. Those species roost with blackbirds, particularly in winter.

Several hundred thousand red-winged blackbirds have used a wooded area in the town as a roost for the past several years, he said. Robertson and other officials went to the roost area over the weekend and found no dead birds on the ground.

“That pretty much rules out an illness” or poisoning, the mayor said.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said Saturday the birds showed physical trauma, and speculated that “the flock could have been hit by lightning or high-altitude hail.” She too dismisses any contention of poisoning. That’s because birds of prey and other animals, including dogs and cats, ate several of the dead birds and suffered no ill effects

SO POISONING IS RULED OUT.

My guess would be some kind of high-frequency sound cannon or something similar to H.A.A.R.P. technology. Possibly a test run by the U.S. military.

  2. It seems that earthquakes have become a major problem in the area as well. Reports suggest that up to 500 earthquakes have rattled the town of Guy in the last three months. Some have suggested that these might have been caused by Gas companies injecting old natural gas wells with salt. A process which they call “FRACKING”

Such has been the concern of local residents that numerous complains and news articles have been posted. Naturally many have many health and safety concerns

In October 14, 2010 this report has surfaced.

“A research scientist from the University of Memphis, Dr. Steve Horton said Arkansas is getting a lot of unusual earthquakes, more than 60 in the last month.

“In the New Madrid Seismic Zone there’s approximately 200 per year, so if we had that many in Central Arkansas in less than a month, something is going on,” said Dr. Horton.
That part of central Arkansas isn’t even part of the New Madrid Fault Zone, so researchers are trying to figure out what’s causing all those earthquakes. Horton thinks, the earthquake swarm could be the result of injecting salt water into old natural gas wells to force more gas production.

“There’s salt water that’s a byproduct of the natural gas industry in that area and then disposed in a well,” said Dr. Horton.”

I suspect that like all BIG corporations they will deny any responsibility on the matter. However if the drilling is not really the cause then something more is going on.

MAYBE YOU KNOW DIFFERENT, LET US KNOW YOUR OPINION.

  3. Kirk Cameron Interview With Anderson Cooper. There can be no doubt that they had Kirk on so they can mock Christianity. However he turns it around. Good interview by Kirk. However the mystery of the Birds and the fish continues.

  4. IN A BBC REPORT DATED Wednesday, 10 March 2010 WE HAVE THIS

“The deaths of 75 starlings which appeared to fall from the sky and crash land on to a driveway in Somerset has mystified the RSPCA animal charity.

The birds were spotted falling onto the entrance of a house in Coxley in Somerset on Sunday 7 March.

Animal welfare officer Alison Sparkes, who was called by police, said: “It was a remarkable sight, I’ve never seen anything like it.”

There is no evidence the birds were ill or poisoned before they hit the ground.

    Predator theory

Ms Sparkes said: “Onlookers said they heard a whooshing sound and then the birds just hit the ground.

“They had fallen on to the ground in quite a small area, about 12ft (3.6m) in diameter.

“They appeared to be in good condition other than injuries that they appear to have suffered when they hit they ground.

“Our best guess is that this happened because the starlings were trying to escape a predator such as a sparrow hawk and ended up crash landing.”

She said that the birds had suffered broken beaks, broken legs and wings and abdominal injuries.

Five of the birds survived the fall but had to be put down because of their severe injuries.

    NO FURTHER EXPLANATION WAS OFFERED.

IN July 23, 2008 WE HAVE THIS REPORT

Dead birds are falling from the sky in Australia for the second time in seven months, raising fears of a possible public health threat.

At least 200 seagulls have been found dead in Perth’s popular beachside suburbs of Woodman Point and Henderson this week, baffling local authorities.

Post-mortem examinations have failed to determine the cause of the birds’ deaths. Last December 5,000 birds died in the coastal town of Esperance, 500 km south of Perth, after being poisoned by lead carbonate blowing through the town as it was being exported through Esperance Port.

The latest incident of dropping birds has led to a major investigation of local industries but government officials admit they are at a loss to know what is killing the gulls. A Department of Health spokesman admitted they could not rule out a risk to public health until the cause of the birds’ deaths had been established.

When the Esperance birds began dying, tests showed that local children and adults had potentially dangerous levels of lead in their blood. A local company, Magellan Metals, escaped prosecution over the way it handled the transportation of lead through the town, but fears remain over the potential threat to humans.

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DoEC) believes the latest deaths may have been caused by a chemical or pollutant. The birds were found on Monday and Tuesday near water outfall pipes at Woodman Point, south of Fremantle and at nearby Henderson which has a large boat-building industry. Water and sediment samples have been taken from the area for testing.

Kevin Morrison, from the DoEC, said the birds appeared to die a quick and painless death.

“The birds, when they are showing signs of having been poisoned become a bit wobbly on their feet, they sit down and within 10 to 15 minutes they’re dead,” he told the Australian Broadcasting Coproration. He said it was particularly puzzling that the deaths were confined to seagulls. In Esperance, wattle birds, yellow throated miners and honey-eaters died.

Although many of the birds were found near the outflow pipes, Mr Morrison said the birds may already have ingested something toxic at a rubbish or landfall site before going there for water as they died.

The beach at Woodman Point, a popular sailing and fishing area, has been closed as a precaution until further notice. Officials do not expect the test results on the birds for a week

HOWEVER THIS WAS PUT DOWN TO LEAD POISONING.
HOWEVER AN INTERNET SEARCH ON THE SUBJECT BRINGS UP A NUMBER OF OTHER STORIES RELATED TO BIRDS JUST FALLING OUT OF THE SKY OVER A PERIOD OF YEARS. IT WOULD SEEM THAT THIS PRESENT INCIDENT IS NOT AN ISOLATED ONE.

  5. Whatever is happening it appears to be spreading.

50 dead jackdaws found on city street in Sweden

100 tons of sardines, croaker and catfish wash up dead on Brazilian coast

Hundreds of fish dead in New Zealand

And in Britain, 40,000 devil crabs join list of casualties

    THE REPORT CONTINUES TO SAY:
More and more animals are being found dead as the mysterious spate of mass bird and fish deaths has turned into a global phenomenon.
Experts were today carrying out tests on around 50 jackdaws found dead in a street in Falkoping, Sweden, that appear to have suffered the same fate as thousands of their cousins who fell from the sky in separate incidents in the U.S.
Swedish experts have said the shock of fireworks being let off near the city, in the south-east of the country, and difficulty finding food may have led to the deaths of the jackdaws.

Many of the birds are believed to have died from stress or as a result of being run over by vehicles while disoriented.

IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT THE MAGNETIC FIELD OF THE EARTH IS BEING INFLUENCED AND BIRDS ARE BECOMING DISORINTATED BECAUSE OF IT. HOW TRUE I CANT SAY. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER THEORY AMONG MANY!

  6. davidblaine says:

Watched the Cooper/Cameron vid and was surprised that the gay atheist son of Gloria Vanderbilt, the shipping heiress, was so tame this time. Usually he doesn’t miss a chance to criticize Christianity in some way. Great that Cameron got to speak without conflict.

  7. ONE OF THE GOOFIEST EXPLANATION THAT HAS BEEN OFFERED UP IS THAT THE BIRDS, HUNDREDS OF THEM, jUST SMACKED INTO BRIDGES. ANOTHER POSSIBLE EXPLANATION STATES:

In 1999, several thousand grackles fell from the sky and staggered about before dying in north Louisiana. It took five months to get the diagnosis: an E. coli infection of the air sacs in their skulls

WELL POSSIBLE, BUT IT DOES NOT EXPLAIN THE DEATH OF HUNDREDS OF FISH AND BIRDS OF VARIOUS OTHER BREADS AS WELL ?

  8. Sweden have given their side of this ongoing mystery. Goofy and crazy.

“Professor Marianne Elvander, the institute’s head of disease control and epidemiology, told the BBC News website that they appeared to have been hit by some kind of blunt instrument.
“My best guess is that this was the secondary effect, that they could have hit the ground very fast after being hit by a car or truck,” she said.
Swedish media have described how Falkoeping resident Drilon Hulaj came across “hundreds of dead birds” lying in the street while driving home on Tuesday night.
Mr Hulaj said he had been immediately reminded of the events in Arkansas where 3,000 red-winged blackbirds died mysteriously on New Year’s Eve in the town of Beebe. Scientists there believe the blackbirds may have been affected by fireworks.

There have been no reports of fireworks or storms in Falkoeping on Tuesday night and fireworks has been ruled by vet officers, who say there is no sign of internal haemorrhaging.
But Swedish newspapers have suggested that the birds had been pecking at salt on the road when they were run over by a passing lorry.

Rescue chief Christer Olofsson told Aftonbladet that a lorry driver had called him to explain that he had hit a lot of the birds but had not considered it significant until he discovered the story had attracted international media attention.

While the lorry may go some way to solving the Swedish mystery, vet officers have pointed out that many of the birds were not run over”
LETS SEE IF WE GET THIS RIGHT. THE BIRDS WERE PECKING ON SALT AND ALONG CAME A LORRY AND RAN THEM OVER, EXCEPT THEY WERE NO SIGNS OF BEING RUN OVER!!! DONT BIRDS IMMEDIETLY FLY OFF WHEN TRAFFIC APPROACHES?

    Where is the laughter button?
