In the Koran it says Surat ‘Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran

Sahih International

Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was.

Muhsin Khan

Verily, the likeness of ‘Iesa (Jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: “Be!” – and he was.

Now is Jesus like Adam because Jesus was made like Adam from the dust.  Let’s check?

Gen 2: 7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Was Jesus created in this manner?  The answer is obviously NO.  Even a casual look at the nativity scene would make it clear that is not the case.  Now the connection is there but the Koran is unable to connect the dots.

Math 1: 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Being with child simply has no similarities to Adam who was made from the earth and had the breath of life blown into him.  There is something going on here.  First of all Jesus was not a created being.  He was the son of God from eternity past and will remain so into eternity future.   Here are just a few verses that reveal the pre-existence of Jesus

Jesus Christ was pre-existent to creation

    Genesis 1:26; 3:22; 11:7 (“…us…our…our…”)    Proverbs 8:22-36     Isaiah 48:12, 16     Micah 5:2     John 1:1-3,10; 3:13; 6:62; 8:35, 58; 17:5, 24     Romans 11:36      1 Corinthians 8:6
    Ephesians 3:9     Philippians 2:5     Colossians 1:15-19      Hebrews 1:2     Revelation 3:14

Islam does acknowledge that Adam was the new caliph to mankind, but sadly again they miss the dots.    To them Jesus was a failure who avoided crucifixion when Allah saved his hide at the last moment.  So it should not surprise us that they can’t see Jesus as a victor saviour of the new Adam.

What did the first Adam Do?

The first Adam was the spiritual and physical head of a race called mankind.  This was something which was never seen before.  Even among all the animals Man was special.  Adam was the headship of what went on in this world.  What happened to Adam became a part of what happened to all who were in Adam.  Adams seed stood or fell depending on what happened to Adam.

Gen 1: 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

God commanded him to subdue the earth and replenish it.  Now when Adam sinned that command to subdue instead of being loving and gentle began to be cruel and despotic.  So Adam seed began to use force to subdue the earth.  We still see this command in effect even today.  The drive to shape the planet to our image.  Bend it to our will. Instil our authority on everything we can.  So war erupts, people suffer and the planet reels under the cruelty.  That does not mean it is always cruel or despotic.  But we fight to subdue and make this world what we want and fashion it in mans own image.

So we continue to follow what that our spiritual head was first commissioned to do.

 The second Adam

Now this is important.  For things to change we need to have a second Adam which had the power and stamina to do what Adam failed.  Jesus retraced Adams steps by becoming human, but rather continuing in Adams failure Jesus wins through.  Adams disobedience led Adams seed to ruin, but Jesus obedience leads his seed back.  What was lost under Adam Jesus begins to restore.    Now if we could only grasp this revelation it would change the way we see things.  For in Christ Jesus becomes our new spiritual head.  So that whatever happens to Jesus will happen to his spiritual seed.   This is important if you are his seed you will follow this new Adam.

1 Cor 15: 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Cor 15: 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.

The DEATH that man experienced under the first Adam was radically changed to becomes LIFE in the second Adam.

Rom 6: 3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection:

We are planted (symbolically) into the same death as Christ.   Just as Just as Christ rose from the dead, we also rise into this new life.  Remember our spiritual head goes before his seed and we follow.  Once you realise the power and potency of what this means it is assured to blow your socks off.  The corruption of the old begins to give way to a new reality.  Where he is situated is where we will be.

Eph 2: 6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:

The hardest part here is that unless you realise just how far the first Adam and his seed had fallen, you will never grasp how high we have been lifted by the second Adam. Is this not glorious and a wonder upon wonder. That I a poor and destitute sinner should be become part of this new creation.  This is something new that has not been seen before, a new mankind of redeemed individuals.

Isa 45: 12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, [even] my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded

With outstretched arms his spiritual seed were joined together from the saints of the past to the saints of the future and together they become the new true Israel of God.    Adams failure led to ruin, Christ’s victory leads to life.  Now in Christ we begin to reflect his nature and character (Gal 5)

Moses went up the mountain to meet God and came down with the revelation of the law.  Jesus ascends a mountain to be transfigured and his disciples came down with a new revelation.  But greater still Jesus becomes the new Law giver who places his Fathers laws in the hearts and minds of his people.  While Moses look over and saw the promise land but was forbidden to cross over.  Our new Adam leads us in to what the Father has promised.

Here is the new law upon which he inscribed upon the hearts and minds of those who follow him.

Mark 12: 30-31  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment. And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

1 JOHN 1: 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

JOHN 13: 35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Jesus becomes the pivotal point both in history and prophecy.  Everything points to this point in time.  The cross unites the Old Testament and the New Covenant.  It was more than the ripping of the temples curtain, more than the darkness and the thundering of an earthquake.  It is more than the resurrection of the saints.  A glorious reconciliation and a  glorious triumph of accession to bring man back to God.  A glorious restoration that once was failure is now crowned with victory.

1 Peter 1: 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; WHICH THINGS THE ANGELS DESIRE TO LOOK INTO.

1 Tim 3: 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Moslems find this aspect hard.  How can God come down and become one of us.  thirsting and hungering.  A God that does not sleep becomes a man that’s rests.  Yet even many in the church would have a hard time trying to explain this.  Yet we believe the evidence and choose to embrace that this is indeed the truth.   For without the second Adam there could be no reconciliation.

Surat Al-‘An`ām (The Cattle

6: 34

Sahih International

And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed until Our victory came to them. And none can alter the words of Allah . And there has certainly come to you some information about the [previous] messengers.

Muhsin Khan

Verily, (many) Messengers were denied before you (O Muhammad SAW), but with patience they bore the denial, and they were hurt, till Our Help reached them, and none can alter the Words (Decisions) of Allah. Surely there has reached you the information (news) about the Messengers (before you).

Moslems believe that the Bible was corrupted, while the Koran remains untarnished.  Yet If Moslems are to believe their own words.

Then take note that it says “none can alter the words of Allah”

Then God has the power and will to keep that which he has given.  While I do not believe that the Koran comes anywhere near the Bible either in its beauty, its poetry, its hope and promises.  I would compare the Bible to a mathematical equation to the simple 1+1 of the Koran.  No contest and no arguments.  That Bible speaks in so much detail and precision, that if it was a laser it would cut diamonds.

Does the Koran contradict itself?

 Of the quran they say:

 Surat An-Nisā’ (The Women)

4: 82

Sahih International

Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction.

Muhsin Khan

Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradictions.

There are many contradictions in the Koran and here is one.

Surat ‘Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran

3: 48

Sahih International

And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel

Muhsin Khan

And He (Allah) will teach him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] the Book and Al-Hikmah (i.e. the Sunnah, the faultless speech of the Prophets, wisdom, etc.), (and) the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel).

Jesus is being taught something that was not even written yet.  How can Jesus be taught about himself before the men who wrote the gospels had even written them?

Surat Al-Kahf (The Cave) – سورة الكهف

18: 86

Sahih International

Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, HE FOUND IT [AS IF] SETTING IN A SPRING OF DARK MUD, and he found near it a people. Allah said, “O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness.”

Muhsin Khan

Until, WHEN HE REACHED THE SETTING PLACE OF THE SUN, HE FOUND IT SETTING IN A SPRING OF BLACK MUDDY (or hot) water. And he found near it a people. We (Allah) said (by inspiration): “O Dhul-Qarnain! Either you punish them, or treat them with kindness.”

There is many more which we will look at in due course.

However unbeknown to many,  Moslems are actively encouraged to believe in the Bible.

 Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

2: 41-42

Sahih International

And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me.

Muhsin Khan

And believe in what I have sent down (this Quran), confirming that which is with you, [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], and be not the first to disbelieve therein, and buy not with My Verses [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] a small price (i.e. getting a small gain by selling My Verses), and fear Me and Me Alone. (Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. I, Page 253).

Sahih International

And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].

Muhsin Khan

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth [i.e. Muhammad Peace be upon him is Allah’s Messenger and his qualities are written in your Scriptures, the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] while you know (the truth) .

“be not the first to disbelieve therein”

yet many do not believe what the Bible teaches, and  just claim that it has been corrupted.  Yet as we have seen  by their own teachings Gods words cannot be altered.  So why should we believe them when they refuse to believe their own teachings.  If I have read these words properly then those who refuse to believe must also be disobeying Gods first revelation.  But then as the Bible and the Koran conflict they can’t.  They are forced to choose.  Sadly they have chosen to choose unwisely.  They are bound by two impossible positions.

Only In Christ the second Adam will all this be understood, Only he can lead people back to the true God.  Salvation is available to all Jew and gentile.  It is freely given and yet it will cost. Those who call upon his name will know without any shadow of doubt Gods love is real and his power to save is to the uttermost.  The Bible says repent  of your sins, turn way from them and turn to God.  Those who seek will find him.
