Talks on islam: Their views on Jesus

This is a excerpt from a Moslem web site on the question what happened to Jesus.

Qur’an is very clear on this issue. It says what means:

*{Behold! Allah said, O Jesus! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you [of the falsehoods] of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow you superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: then shall you all return unto Me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein you dispute}* (Aal `Imran 3:55).

*{That they said [in boast]: “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah”, but they killed him not, nor crucified him. Only a likeness of that was shown to them. And those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no certain knowledge. But only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- No! Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise}* (An-Nisaa’ 4:157-158).

The critical word is the bal in verse 157 which translates to but in “but they killed him not.” Arabic rules of grammar require opposites to be compared when bal is used.

So, putting these two verses together, since Allah clearly says *{But they killed him not}*, it means they didn’t kill him. Therefore he must have been alive. So, *{I will raise you to Me}* implies “I will raise you to Me alive.”

The passage in verses 4:157-158 only emphasizes that many people talk about what they do not know. Muslims believe that all knowledge is with Allah. He knows and Man knows not. What Allah tells us is the truth. Your question only reiterates that Man is contentious and will argue on many things, even those things that he doesn’t know. Yet, here the issue is, I believe, very clear.

While Moslems like to believe Jesus was a prophet they are unwilling to believe anything he said.  Which also means they don’t believe that God is capable of preserving what Jesus said

Moslems do not believe that Jesus actually died on the cross and another took his place.  Now strange as this might seem that is quite a common excuse among those who try to explain away the resurrection.  So I suppose Islam has something in common with atheists and agnostics.  If the lamb that was perfect did not die, then men are still in their sins.  However it also makes a liar out of God because of  what was prophesied in Isiah 53 and Jesus because he claimed to have risen from the dead.

Math 17: 9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

John 21: 14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from  the dead.

The whole New Testament is based upon the testimonies that Jesus was not only crucified died but also raised after three days

John 8: 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

Unless you believe the record which we have received about Jesus , who is more than a prophet but God himself clothed as a man.  Ye shall die in your sins.  In which case even Mohammed died in his sins.  Time after time we are given this record / Testimony.  This is the christ the messiah

John 1: 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

1 John 5: 11-14  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1 John 2: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world

The Christ was the one who would come to die for the sins of the whole world.  John 3: 16  “God so loved the world.”  The gospel was never to just a few, or the Jews but the whole world.  “That he gave his only begotten son”  There was no conjuring trick of crucifying another.  That is why there is so much made of Judas betrayal of Jesus with a kiss.  Jesus was not hiding behind some tree while Judas betrayed another.  That is why so much is made of the trail before the religious community.  So that all would be assured that this was indeed Jesus and not another.   That “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”  This has been the hope of every believer.

EVEN THOUGH THE ARTICLE SAYS  ” will make those who follow you superior to those who reject faith”  The simple fact is that Islam does indeed reject the faith.  They reject the testimony of Jesus and those who gave testimony thereafter.

Are they pronouncing judgement on themselves that Christians are superior to Islam?  However they go on to say “then shall you all return unto Me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein you dispute”  Somehow they believe that on the resurrection day Allah (God) will judge all matters.  A subtle twist that they will have an advantage.  The Tragic situation is that they will not be there on the resurrection of the saints.  But will attend the great white throne judgement of the lost.

Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

2Cr 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:…

No arguement on that basis. The Bible is clear.

When talking to Muslim, you must show them their need of a Saviour before just going through with facts.

Another point to mention is the testimony of those who saw the resurrection. They died for their testimony.

I put up a neat ebook about talking to Muslims at
